I was awestruck by this video. It's even better than the first part. You managed to capture so much realism into that 3.4 x 1.3-meter space. This layout must have cost a huge amount of money to build - and many hours. Here in the U.S. you mostly find layouts oriented around freight lines with sidings and small industries, mainly in rural areas. We don't typically model elevated passenger lines in urban areas here, because they don't exist here - well there are a few, but modeling them is an expensive niche. I far prefer these Japanese layouts - you'll never get bored with them. Plus you can add trams/street cars and even have the buses move - Tomix makes a moving bus system. With both your layouts, you showed that one does not need a massive club-sized layout to provide interest.
My dream layout combines lengthened and widened (about 1/2 a meter to 1.5 meter bigger) versions of this one and your new one where the elevated stations of both would abut each other and use somewhat gentler radii. My dream large layout would run 16-car Shinkansens and the dream smaller one the commuter trains. I did them on AnyRai software with Kato. I wish there was an easy and cheap way to string catenary wires on either the Tomix or the Kato masts without it costing a fortune or involving building jigs and soldering - for either layout, it would be a huge job.
