The shape-shifting, mind-boggling Sarah Jones reprises her enormously popular one-woman performance with a program that showcases embodiment and impersonation. The New York Times heralded Jones's show Bridge & Tunnel as a "sweet-spirited valentine to New York City, its polyglot citizens and the larger notion of an all-inclusive America, that ideal place where concepts like liberty, equality, and opportunity have concrete meaning and are not just boilerplate phrases slapped around in stump speeches and news conferences." You won't quite believe you're in the room with just one performer after glimpsing the raft of characters Jones brings to life.

I was lucky enough to see Sarah Jones in Bridge and Tunnel in NYC. One of the greatest shows I have seen in many, many years of going to the theater. She is marvelous and I am looking forward to her new show.
Sarah is powerful capturing the very essence and soul of the people we see in our society. We can learn a lot from this, a reflection of what we all see and hear.

OMG!! So brilliant. Trying not to be tall…yes such a thing back in the day for girls. Taller people don’t live as long though BTW….I’m tallish. “Concave appearance”…” not claiming the privledge that i actually have”……also can be from abuse etc. but the verbal apologies that are frequent and unattached is definitely a sign of false humility.
I personally think she connected most deeply with the Latina character. I felt that in my soul. ❤

33:00 love it average african american...truth in art...this is what happens forget PC, the issue remains that the realities of life are not the same for all, and this character knows what she is saying dodgy and tries to speak nicely while still being blissfully ignorant of the remnants of the white supremacist attitude. Immigrant and kidnapped persons are not the same. The difference is choice to keep one's mother tongue, religious & cultural practices and most importantly one's identity/name.
Is it not padding if you can just be yourself and talk about the festival for minutes at a time in between characters? This is amazing, and she's an amazing actress, but writing wise is she not getting away with padding time in between characters? Can anyone recommend a legit straight up one person show I can watch?
In this TEDTalk her task was to extemporaneously answer questions that she was seeing for the first time in front of the audience. What Sarah Jones was doing in this presentation was not pre written but made up on the spot.
