@Saibou Manneh is all about sensitizing the masses about some of the natural treasures we have in Gambia, and how best we can postively exploit it for the greater good of all Gambians.
Your comments are very informative and engaging. May I suggest a fisheries research center to study the types of fish and fishing activities in and around the Gambia. There are some ways I see that the fisheries can be improved in Gambia, Let's say from Mauritania to Ghana. It needs to be done and as soon as possible.
I absolutely think the country should invest in making sure the river in passable for Gambia River cruises. To go from one village to another were each destination has a signature attraction, a particular food/ drink, hand made cloth or signature craft, a traditional song or dance. It would be a beautiful attraction to cruise the River Gambia over three days stopping at three different villages experiencing the village songs, dances, crafts, and foods. I was thinking of investing in such a River cruise business I just don't know if there are villages along the river that would be willing and able to host the travelers, or if the river is deep enough for a passenger yacht to pass without getting stuck.

How much more fishing do you think the river could handle before fish would decline? Is it anywhere close to the limit?
I think we should worry more about the coast, the Chinese are raping the coast (and the land) of all the fish, the Gambians get very little from it.
