Yep, I remember shiny, shiny floors growing up with an Italian mother. It was so bad I thought the movie "The Shining" was about an Italian Nonna gone wild with OCD cleaning tendencies.
Such a cute place. I’m not typically a city person but it seems Italy takes pride in plants, gardens and trees. They improve a city so much.
That’s a small fortune of bonsai trees, oh my.

It’s always so interesting to see homes and apartments in foreign countries because you realize how maximalist we live in the U.S. You never stop to think how many amenities you can actually get by without.
I adore the little gardening plots behind the apartments, what a lovely concept. Knowing how intensive bonsai is, I think my jaw dropped a little when I saw the additional tiers of trees in the back, haha.

Welcome back and thank you for this amazing video. This housing and the whole neighbourhood looks exactly like the holiday seaside houses of İstanbul from the 1970's which are extremely rare today. Lovely Mediterranean taste of life and architechture. 😍🤗

What makes all the difference with these enclosed piazza type communal back yard areas is the greenery. It is well planned and beautifully maintained. Creates a natural environment in a fairly enclosed space for all living in a number of these apartment blocks. The bonsai and vegetable gardens are fantastic giving off that earthy sense Italians have. There are lots of shrubs and even small trees on the balconies as well. I generally dislike the invasive nature of people looking in from high density apartment living but the Italian attitude of greenery everywhere creates a much more private and natural environment. It is the attitude of the people living there that create these natural environments. In Australia, the communal backyard apartments are mostly concrete unless there was a highly paid maintenance fee for a beautified garden area. Looks like Italians do it themselves which is a major credit to their way of living.
