    Do you think the bartop has enough room to fit a mini audi amplifier on the front panel in the middle of the player select buttons like others I have seen ?

    I got one delivered to my door step in the US today. I contacted them and let them know that I ordered because of you. Great product. Whats the deal with the contest?

    You already do so much great work for us Austin. You shouldn't trouble yourself figuring out how you'll give these away to us. Tell you what. I'll make things that much easier for you by taking some of the weight off of your shoulders and I'll just take one of those cabinets off your hands. Easy peasy. LOL.
    You've seriously got me considering moving my emulation world off of my TV and into a legit cabinet. Keep the great videos coming.

    Austin, Did you ever install speakers in this? Can you demo the access to the back of the unit and control panel?

  • @dmoehling

    I like the idea of having a hyper-spin theme contest. Something that will push the entire arcade scene forward would be great. A $200 prize should have to be earned IMO. If you do decide to go random give-a-way, that would be a HUGE win for 2 lucky folks.

    Looks very nice indeed, especially as the screw hols are already in place. Do you think that a CRT monitor would fit in one of these Austin?

    Hey Austin do the screws on the side drill straight in to the plexiglass?

  • @Vsankari
    @Vsankari 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems you are left with a little spare room after installing the screen. Could you install a 20" 16:9 screen on this? I happen to have one of those laying around and I would like to use it for an arcade cabinet. Would have to lower the resolution though or make a new bezel so the image would show all the way?

    • @SimplyAustins
      @SimplyAustins  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory yes mate. I cannot see why not as you do have a little room. But I couldnt say for certain as I dont know your measurements etc. But the mounting bracket etc are all standard and ratios are correct

    The gift that keeps on giving! Tried to build something before (similar) and it was a train wreck to be honest. I have a mint x-arcade twin stick (set with the trackball) that I may sell to fund one of these...... Unless I win the competition lol. Brilliant video pal, keep up the good work

    Hey Austin, random side question. Not sure if you know anyone with a 4 player arcade cabinet whether they angled their P3 & P4 joysticks? If so, do you know if they feel they function well facing the direction their body is facing or do they wish they would have done them facing toward the screen instead? If they're not angled, do they wish they were a little more angled as opposed to facing the direction toward the screen? I mainly ask because I'm currently building a 4 player arcade and I have my player 3 & 4 joysticks angled instead of facing the screen and people on my forum are going crazy. Just curious. Thanks

    Been trying to order one of the upright versions of these for over a week but they don't get back to me when I email them unfortunately. On the upright you have to enter a size for the bezel cutout and I don't know what to put, also it looks like I need a 5:3 monitor for landscape? Not helpful if they can't clear anything up

    I would love to hear how your going with the processor you are using. Are you on the Pi or something else?? Having built a couple of this style cabinets now, and made a clip of course, I can say the kind of monitor might mess these kit types and defiantly not suitable for trying to fit a fully working PC into. They lot great though! Cheers for another great vid. PS how about us Aussies?? ;)

      @SimplyAustins  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hehe soo true :) I am terrible at making intro thingies. But I really want one for EmuNation. Couldn't take advantage though for my own gain. But the guys over at XCADE do have some amazing ideas for adding art. may be nice to have some user made art to help them out for showcasing :)
      The version I used in this was a Prototype. it does differ from the standard as they was asking me for my input on what works and what doesn't. example, on mine I have speakers on side, but I said it may get in way of art and it's not the normal. now you have standard option on back or marquee too. I asked them to add vents for pc fans on rear so monitor and pc could get clean air. Options for more buttons, and no buttons on side. To be honest the guys there will please any requests from what I hear so far with feedback :)

      thanks for the quick reply. i am in the process of putting together a build and was looking for a quick assembly cab. i think this is the one.

      I have done and seen quite a few cabs and this one is in a league of its own. It's hard to explain but it's the small details you never normally see. The bezel, the screen, the fixings... it's all new. I can't say what's on its way for the art, but again they are doing something I have never seen before and means customizations to the max.... very simply as often as you want

      do you think adding art to this cab would be as easy as in your other cab building vid? would the mdf not absorb the water? just a thought.

    • @SimplyAustins
      @SimplyAustins  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, mate, just same process. Although mdf type and although water would absorb. The actual grain is waterproof. 24 hours and ut will be good to go once evaporated. However the process and adding of art is even more simple and professional. Something I never seen before:)

    I've got a great idea for your competition, the cabs should go to people whose initials are rp and who live in Doncaster!! Just kidding, I'm sure you will choose a much fairer method to choose a winner. Great looking kit though

    Great vid, takes some of the worry out of wanting to do one of these builds. Make the contest easy on yourself, do a random name drawing from the comments section.

    • @SimplyAustins
      @SimplyAustins  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah think that's the way forward:) I hope the vid helps some people find their dream cab though:)

    I say hold an online Street Fighter 5 competition to see who wins the arcade, my body is ready! XD
    Either that or hold a Photoshop contest to see who can come up with the best Artwork for this cabinet. If Xcade would let you have the template psd file that is :)

    Suggestion for a video...I know you did KODI install but what about HOW TO transfer your (DVD/Blu Rays) movie and tv show collections to hard drive for use with KODI or any system that runs from USB drives. What tools (software and versions) and what are some of the best settings to convert it for quality etc???! Just an idea. I know you like to stick to emulators but that would be handy.
