Flying JetBlue's Inaugural Flight to CANADA - NYC to Vancouver

  • JetBlue has long been known as being an innovator, a disruptor, and a low-cost airline that just does stuff differently from everyone else. Their main operations are in the Northeast, Florida, and the Caribbean with some bases on the west coast, but recently they've been expanding to places like London. Canada is the latest addition to their network and I truly believe they'll probably succeed at it too as flights to Canada have always been consistently pricey and need someone like a JetBlue to change things up. Kind of interesting how their inaugural flight was a long transcontinental flight from New York to British Columbia, but that's what it was and I definitely enjoyed the experience all around. Love being apart of these inaugurals. This is also the first video using a new camera & mic so let me know what you think! Hope you guys enjoy!
    Flight Info:
    Airline: JetBlue Airways
Aircraft/Registration: Airbus A320 (N729JB) "If You Can Read This, You're Blue Close"
    Seat: 16F
Flight Time: 5 hr 46 min
    Flight #: B6 603
Takeoff: John F. Kennedy International Airport
    Landing: Vancouver International Airport
    Filmed: June 9, 2022
    Camera(s) Used: Panasonic GH6, GoPro HERO7 Black

Living in Vancouver I am very excited to try this route on my next trip to NYC. I recently flew a 6 1/2 hour trans-con flight within Canada on Air Canada and was shocked there was only one beverage service the entire flight. The legroom and free snacks on JetBlue have me sold!

    Christopher. Hi !
Shaun, here from NYC ( JFK ). Well, another great vid. Just to let you know, I live vicariously, through you flight vids. I haven't been on a plane since '97. NYC to London, to Marseilles. Ok ! First, all the eats seemed cool, even at the port. And on the plane, maybe I missed it, but no dinner? Just snacks? During Bingo, you were like "Screw you" Hahahahaha Hysterical 🌝😄
When you deplaned, I thought it was great, that there were natives, singing a blessing song. Oy vay, six hours in the air !!😨 I'm not a good flyer, as turbulence, gets the best of me. Ok, another fine video
P.S why can't you show your jazz, performances.? .......Food for thought. .

You mentioned the TWA Hotel, and not staying there yet..... I can help you with that! I would highly encourage you to stay elsewhere. Yes, it's a beautiful hotel, and I love the idea.... But.... My experience was not good at all. The noise from the Port construction vibrates through the hotel. I literally could not sleep. I talked to the front desk about it, and they were not helpful in any way. They told me I had to deal with it, and suggested I turn on the TV or use earplugs. With no sleep, I was miserable on my flight home.
If there is no construction near the hotel, I bet it would have been a much nicer experience. The hotel is beautiful!

Just be glad you aren't making a domestic connection at YVR. There like all other big Canadian airports, they put Transborder flights the furthest away from all other flights. I just transferred in YYC and it was from the last gate at one end to the other end of the terminal and then clearing US Customs and barely making it to the gate in time for boarding.

We stayed one night at the TWA hotel - I was really looking forward to it. Whilst the room and view was really good, the hotel was let down by such miserable staff and overpriced food. When you pay nearly $300 a night for a room you expect more and sadly this place failed to deliver. It’s an impressive building but when you’re charged over $100 for two Caesar salads and two cocktails to accompany it’s just a rip off. Your trip reports make up for it though - love the format and your relaxed narration. Way better than those that ‘only fly first class’…..oh, and the TWA hotel of course!

As someone who used to work on Virgin America aircrafts as a baggage handler for a contract company, I miss it too. The planes were very easy to load as it was just bags/pink tags and we didn't have to deal with cargo aside from when maintenance needed to ship some stuff. Alaska is brutal. They have a shit ton of cargo and stinky fish. Could not deal with them after a year because they were so anal about everything so I left at that point.
