Hey Chris on your chainsaw delimias, Always remember when adjusting the chain tension grab the chain in the middle of the bar on the top side and adjust the tightener to where you can lift the chain up at the midway point tighten until the bottom of the link can barely see the bottom of the chain and hold that up and tighten the nuts down on the bar, thus will prevent the damage that you have and remember if the chain is hot don't adjust wait 5 min for it to cool down, don't forget and put grease in the sprocket nose when you are done for the day.

I wondered why Chris didn't just cut a hole in the center with his old Stihl and then the sprocket let go and then the bar delaminated and I'd guess Chris need a new chainsaw. Stihl is an excellent brand but they need maintenance too. Mine is about 30 yrs old but has been rebuilt a few times and is reliable.

I had a field of alfalfa under powerlines like that. You're right, they do make a lot of noise, especially when it's damp. When I was baling hay, I could feel the electrical charge as we passed under them on muggy days. Four years of that and I never planted hay under those lines again. Could you please park the d6 and the d7 next to each other for scale?

The big tree is only poplar, the first fire dried the wood out so it would burn during the second. Poplar burns crazy fast even if it's a massive tree. You should see the poplar tree we have on the course, easily 250 years years old, back in 2007 it was nearly 40 feet around measuring with a rope, the first set of limbs were basically the size of your tree. It's the only poplar tree I've ever seen like that

A lot of chainsaw bars also have a lubrication point near the tip of the bar to grease the nose bearings.
It's a good idea to apply a bit of grease there occasionally.
Stihl also makes bars that don't require lubrication, maybe Chris can find some that will fit his saws.

Had the same thing happened to me on my chainsaw. With me it was that I had an older chainsaw, and when I took it into the dealer to get a new chain, she gave me the newer type of chain, which has a different sprocket than the older chainsaws. I didn’t notice it but it didn’t take long to chew that up and break it apart. Luckily, I took it back to the dealer and then realizing what they did they fixed it for free. Learn something that day.

I’ve seen those power line guys cut trees and they go up in the bucket and cut it back in pieces so that maybe why you’ve got random lengths because they basically limbed it and cut it back in sections then cut it off at the ground once they’re sure it won’t reach anything of theirs when it falls

Still is bad about making parts like that out of fused powdered metal , (Cheap crap) but that is what sells saws. In my saw kit , extra chains, wrenches, spark plugs , files and extra sprockets , because they will cause irreparable excess drive tooth wear on the chain when they get damaged and they are the weakest part of the clutch system.
