    Keep the area around the outside unit clear of weeds and grass, change the filters regularly, I’ve heard that a few times over the years. Lol. Not sure what the saying is in the USA but in the uk it’s ‘practise what you preach’ . It’s always interesting about service engineers how they often don’t service their own stuff. How many car mechanics run around in poorly maintained cars. It’s just human I guess we all do it,

    I get about 10 years in between blockages. No pan under my system, damn water pours down into my furnace. I usually catch it immediately as my furnace is in the basement laundry area. No easy way to locate a cut-off switch in my evaporator pan unfortunately.

  • @desertbob6835
    @desertbob6835 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my area, the coils never sweat...dew point's too low, except for two weeks out of the year. Then, the monsoons come, the dew point goes up into the 60s, and all that fine micro dust washes down the fins into the pan, and clogs the trap. That's the "gel" you get. I just use a gahhhden hose at the staht o' tha season and give it a good douche up into the pan, drain and repeat. Unit's 30 years old, already had the evap out to clean up after the original owner, use 2 30% filters in a rack...no more probs. Fixed orifice, I run it a little bit low on SH to keep the old Copeland's windings cool on 115° days. I bet that thing will be running after I croak.
