- Hey all, I have been using SSLForFree.com for 2 years and have 6 certificates hosted with them already. Recently, the website has undergone some changes and joined hands with ZeroSSL.com. In this video I teach you how to install ssl certificate on cpanel and renew it, as the process is same.
With this you will get a free ssl certificate for wordpress or any website.
My subscribers have been requesting a video showing the whole process of generating the free certificate through ZEROSSL. Since, one of my websites topbootcamps.com also uses SSL cert from SSLForFree.com and was ready for renewal. I went ahead and recorded this step by step video.
So, just follow along and renew your SSL certs and secure your website today. I use GoDaddy cPanel, should be easy to follow

Thank you :) At first, I can't find the .well-known folder so I did:
1.) go to folder public_html
2.) create a folder and name it .well-known
3.) Under .well-known folder create a new folder and name it pki-validation
4.) Under pki-validation, upload the auth file :)

.well-known folder is not showing to my ssl

I did exactly what in the video but they still say they were unable to verify my uploaded file. Why this error when the file is uploaded correctly, I even check to make sure by clicking the http link of the .well known, it work and show me the key with comodoca.com, another letters and numbers mix underneath it yet when I click verify it says it can't verify my uploaded file why? Is it because my domain name is different from my host provider or because it is my first time and it need sometime?
if the auth file is successfully verified then its not an issue from your host or domain registrar end. And, I have no idea why you are seeing comodoca .com. Can you share your url please?

You mean, you only see two files in zip folder? Probably your anti virus is deleting the key on extraction.
Disable your anti virus and extract again, you will find it

not working.. i used the HTTP file upload method and placed the file under pki-validation folder and successfully read and when i verify the domain it displays "We were unable to verify your uploaded file." and verfication status "Invalida CAA Records"

Hey, I'm having trouble on "finalize" step. After I click on button "Verify Domain". It shows this error - "Our system has detected invalid CAA DNS records for some of your domains. To resolve this, please either remove all CAA records for the domains marked below or follow the steps in this help article.".

Hi i have a question? So after 90days when it has expired, I have to comeback and re-do this process again? what is the 3 number meaning? 3 website?
Yes, you need to renew after 90 days. And, that 3 means, you get 3 free 90 days certificates with free plan
@@topitguy Does that mean if we have 1 certificate issued, we can only renew it two times before we have to upgrade to a paid plan? ZeroSSL is counting an expired certificate of mine as one of my 3 allowed, so I can't renew for free, it seems.
When I try to get a 90-days free ssl certificate from sslforfree it says "One of your certificate domains is no longer eligible on the Free Plan. To continue, please choose the Basic Plan."
If that domain is being used for commercial stuff it might be considered as ineligible

Is it installed properly? If you use WordPress, use a plugin called WP Fastest Cache, that should help you

Hello Sirji, Great video. There are some issues with hostinger server. It always says Invalid CAA Records when verifying domain. I tried adding new CAA records in hosting side but still the same issue persists. Please see this and try to help. Thank you
You just need to find file manager in the backend and then fund public folder, inside that folder just create the folders as directed in the video

@@ampankajsharma ok I changed the hosting so now if i add CNAME on my domain to activate SSL the website is not working because domain is on default servernames..to make it work i need to add the servernames of my hosting website..but if i add these names the CNAME is removing so the SSL is stopping working.. what to do?

The process is very much the same. Just look for file manager or the folder in which all your website files are kept. Add the two folders I showed in the video. Upload the auth file and find the options to add SSL options. Add the three values you get from Zerossl, and you will be done.
Alternatively, use Cloudflare, and it will all be super smooth.. I have a video for that as well

Yes, with the free plan you get 3 licenses. If you want you can upgrade to paid plan and get unlimited 90 days certs and 3 one year validity certs
Bro I am using infinityfree for hosting. There, in the file manager, there is only htdocs folder. There is no such folder called .well-known as you mentioned in this video. Should I create a folder and upload auth file in htdocs folder?🙄
Free hosting won't let you do so. However, you can try creating the two folders I have shown in the video and see how it looks

Hi, in my .well known folder, there is already an old folder called "pki-validation" which I had created 3 months back for the ssl updation. Now this time, should I delete this folder or just add the auth file in this folder. There is still 7 days left for the SSL expiration.

Thank you for your video. I did all the steps but it didnt work and i believe it's because showed me this message: You don’t have a dedicated IP address. Browsers that were released before 2013 may not support SNI. Because of this, users may see false security warnings when they visit your SSL-secured websites.
