IMPORTANT: This plugin will ONLY WORK if you have already bought an SSL certificate through your hosting provider. If you have issues with this plugin be sure to first check that you have an SSL certificate, and if issues still persist you might consider contacting your hosting provider as they regularly make updates that can affect these plugins.
The internet is a BIG place, and there are plenty of bad guys lurking in the shadows waiting to steal your personal information. So today I'm going to show you How to Secure Your Website From Hackers! And it can be done in LESS than 1 MINUTE with the iThemes Security plugin!
I'll also show you how to scan your website for Malware anytime you need, as well as how to add a secure padlock (SSL Certificate) to your site's URL so visitors know it it's safe.
But first, WHY do hackers hack websites?
1. To obtain credit card information.
2. To obtain contact info to sell to unethical marketers.
3. To obtain usernames and passwords to gain control of your server resources.
4. Malvertising (sending spam to your website visitors and subscribers)
5. SEO Spam (using your site's authority to promote fake information on google)
6. Other classified info you may have.
So to keep that from happening, just follow the tutorial to keep your website SAFE and SECURE!

This Plugin only let you know the network brute force attack in progress or someone tried to at access your website.. but that didn't prevent anykind of hacking activity.. can you make a video about how to Defend Malware and brute Force Attack On Website? Thanks

This stuff cant be done for free, if you have a website that has any type of secure information (like an ecommerce site) you will need to buy site security, this costs like 180 - 300 $ .. I am trying to figure out if there is a cheaper way todo this or not, but its not looking like it.
IThemes Security only protect you mostly from login attacks. The best protection is Malcare or Webarx. I prefer Malcare because they can clean your hacked website immediately. I gave you high praise after seeing this. Then I followed the directions. I got locked out. The techniques I tried to get access back after seeing different videos didn't work.
A reset of password from the control panel just went into loops.I had to redo my website. I developed a fool proof way to save info beforehand.
Regular restore can't work since I couldn't get in. I don't blame you. I see that it has worked for some. But I see a number of others got locked out also.
You should look into, or put a warning, or just take this video down. It's a time bomb.
I still like the way you teach though.
This is just the exact experience I had. Now am logged out and can even log back into my dashboard. Its a huge loss for me cause I don't see the possibility of designing a new website with same domain name
@@jstylus2895 As a last resort only if you can't make something else work. Copy and paste your pages of your website.
From C Panel delete your wordpress installation. Create another blank website. Paste the pages back in. It will save some time and your domain.
Before installing this Ithemes, install All In One Wordpress Migration Plugin. Make a copy of your website with this. Save to file.
Before installing Ithemes plugin create a very strong password so the same loop doesn't happen.
If the same trouble happens, or something similar, you have a duplicate copy of your website that you can reinstall.
Backups can't work if you can't get into your website, as far as I know. I've used and tested All In One. It works well.
I just have to install a blank wordpress. Then install All In One. Then import the copy.
Within 10 minutes I can create another wordpress site, then install the copy, and have my site working again.
I hope this helps. Don't be mad at me if you find a better solution afterwards. But this is what I did to recover my site.

I just tried to secure my website but now its not making me log in at all. It comes upas an error message. Please help
I got the same issue , right after enabling ssl my site crashed. Trying to fix it
For all the people who can't login to their Dashboard and website.
1. Go to the host of your domain.>
2. Search for files>
3. Within the files, search for '' WP-content->Plugins ''. (Here you see the list of plugins installed.>
4. Change the name of this plugin ( better-wp-security ) to something else. Example: better-wp-security_old
5. You should be logging in again.

what he doesn't tell you is if you DON'T have SSL on your site it will log you out and you will not be able to log in!

For anyone like me who was locked out of their account/site because you missed the part about needing to have an SSL certificate before clicking 'enable', all I had to do to fix it was call my domain host (GoDaddy) and they fixed it in just a few minutes. I basically had to purchase an SSL certificate through them and once they installed it, my website opened back up. I know the guy who made this video mentioned that you should already have an SSL certificate before following the steps in the video and it's my fault for not paying close enough attention but he definitely should have put a much bigger warning in the video about this and what would happen if not done correctly. He should also show his viewers how to check to see whether or not they already have SSL certification. And it's even more disappointing that he hasn't responded to many of the comments asking him for help. But anyway...yeah, that's all you have to do. It probably won't be cheap (cost me over $100) but it's an easy fix.
