I could never understand the reasoning for breaking off the last week. Thanks for your simple, straightforward and scriptural explanation (without disconnecting the last week)
How blessed are the faithful under this man's teaching. Sadly there are always those who merely fill seats in the congregation but for those whom the Lord has prepared, to receive these TRUTHS it's a veritable banquet. Only discovered Brother John recently, I think we're about the same generation, probably why he's such a sage. We all used to be a lot smarter, back when people still knew how to think.
Most of this is correct, and in line with a large body of scholarship on the subject. It's probably good he labours it in places, because so many have had claptrap cloud their understanding of Daniel, they need it explained they way he does it. The point he was most off course with was "to seal up vision and prophecy" in Daniel 9:24. The term "seal up" is also in 8:26 & 12:9. It's what you did with a scroll when you'd finished writing it, and it's what God did with vision and prophecy when he'd finished revealing it through his holy apostles and prophets (Eph 3:5). Daniel 9 tells us this was to happen in the same timeframe that would see the destruction of the city and the sanctuary (9:26), and 12:7 confirms that all those prophecies would be fulfilled "when the shattering of the power of the holy people would be completed". So by the time Jerusalem was rubble, vision and prophecy were sealed up - and this is confirmed by the fact that all 27 books of NT scripture were written prior to the fall of Jerusalem in AD70. I also appreciated his point about "finish the transgression" in light of Matthew 23:32 (& following).
Excellent teaching. The gap theory would totally destroy the purpose of the angels message. To communicate when the anointed one would come and what he would accomplish.
Here’s why it doesn’t work without a gap… After the reconstruction of Jerusalem in the first seven sevens (forty-nine years), another “sixty-two sevens” (434 years) would pass. Next, the cutting off of Messiah is ‘after’ the sixty-two weeks. This is important because he doesn't say "in the 70th week". Thus, 483 years have now passed, leaving 7 remaining. Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD, 37 years after the crucifixion. So 483 + 37 = 520 years. Without the gap, an uninterrupted 490 years does not work either.
@@joyceruserious7920 In Matthew chapter 23(the whole chapter)Jesus pronounced judgment against the Sanhedrin and he ends by declaring "Your house is left unto desolate."
Wow ! So to cut off the 70th week from the 69, is to cut off the work and sacrificial death of Christ. The 70th week happened and ended somewhere in Acts. Dispensationalism is a pernicious heresy.
I've seen those who maintain that the stoning of Stephen was the end of the 70th Week because he saw Jesus at the right hand of God. Other say Stephen is too early and make it the conversion of Paul. But the issue for some is that they push it out to 70 AD since the destruction of the city and temple are found in Verse 26 which makes no sense because the 70th week is in Verse 27. Others make 26 "parenthetical" to push the Crucifixion into the 70th and a "gap" to 70 AD. Beware of anyone who says they know they've got it all figured out. The Prophet Daniel, with angelic assistance directly from God had this last thing to say "...I heard but, I understand not... what shall be the end of these things." just before he hears that the last 3-1/2 years is longer than 3-1/2 years by a month (1290 days) and those that wait are blessed if they come to 1335 days, an additional 2-1/2 months beyond the 1260 days. Whew! And the angel's explanation is..."Well, Daniel, you're going to die. But you'll stand with your lot at the end of the days." Confounding that was the unfortunate word "consummation" in 9:27 which used have a definition of "the end of the world". Great. Now I have to go look up the Hebrew on that one.
Here is the proper interpretation of Daniel 9. .......the 70 weeks start in 457 BC which is the 7th year of Artaxerxes found in Ezra 7:13., this is what Daniel 9: 25 references, which says - from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem unto Messiah the Prince. And you know the 70 weeks are weeks of years, 70x7 is 490 literal years. So, 7 weeks and 62 weeks (KJV) is 69 weeks or 483 years. If you add 483 to 457 it brings you to AD 27 the year Christ was baptized. You may not know this but Christ was born in at least 4 BC and we know this because King Herod died 4 BC. Now, Luke 3: 23 says Christ entered His ministry at age 30, so, in 27 AD He was 30. Now notice this major point for it is where most people /scholars get lost, the text of Daniel 9: 26 says and after the 69 weeks Messiah would be cut off (Killed) . This shows that there is no break in the 70 weeks, for Christ was killed after the 69 weeks and in the middle of the 70th week. For 3.5 years Christ preached to the Jews, then for another 3.5 years His disciples preached exclusively to the Jews, but when they rejected their preaching and stoned Stephen the 70 weeks or 490 years came to a close. And Israel as a nation were no longer considered God's chosen people and the Gospel went to the Gentiles, so you were right to say the 490 years ended in Acts...Acts 7: 51-60, with the stoning of Stephen which is the year Paul was converted. There were only 3 decrees, some say 4, but what is considered a 4th was not a decree, it was only a "restating" of an earlier decree by Artaxerxes. And you will notice for the 3 decrees, each time one is made it is prefaced by the words...I make a decree or a proclamation, but not so for the 4th. And if you were to use any other decree it takes you out of the timeline of Christ's ministry. The 4 dates were - 536, 520, 457 , 445., (BC). Remember you must start with the dates 4 BC to Ad 27 for the birth and arrival of Christ for baptism. Also remember there is no "zero" year when you go from BC to AD you go from 1 BC to 1 Ad. Now here is a point few people understand - the 70 weeks were determined upon thy people and holy city 9: 24...the word determined (KJV) according to Strongs Greek / hebrew dictionary is to "cut off" so the 70 weeks of Daniel 9 were cut off from something larger which was the 2300 days of years in Daniel 8:14...for a day in bible prophecy equals a year according to Numbers 14: 34 and Eze. 4:6. but that is another study in itself. Hope this helps you see the true picture of Daniel 9.
@@DavidKing-qd3sp You are mostly right about Daniel 9. You and your S.D.A. theology are off when it comes to Daniel 8. Read Daniel 8 :13 again. It was a question about the EARTHLY sanctuary, the Temple in Jerusalem, NOT about the Heavenly Sanctuary, which cannot be defiled and has no need to be cleansed. The actual Hebrew word means VINDICATED, by the way. Daniel 8 :14 was about the Temple being trodden down by pagans for 23 hundred evening and mornings, specifying the evening and morning sacrifices which would be stopped on actual 24 hour days, NOT years. The "determined" or "cut off" simply means separated from the rest of Israel's history, NOT from 23 hundred years. The term "Yom" or "Day" is used in every scripture that encodes a day for a year. It is NOT used in Daniel 8 :14. Be very careful with S.D.A. prophetic teaching. It always cuts corners and shoehorns it's preconceived position into the scripture.
you are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. You are confused in your theology, but I am too busy to argue with people, you either see the truth and jump aboard or you keep swimming by yourself. So, have a good day and I wish you the best.
Excellent teaching by Pastor John and some here are straining at gnats, trees etc, whereas Dispensationalism is a huge heresy, a camel, in fact, which most swallow.
In the new heavens and earth, Jesus said he would wipe all the tears from our eyes , so we are not to be sad about this because Jesus said not to let our hearts be troubled because he would give us rest. We can't get all weepy over this. Jesus said it must come to pass. He said not let your be troubled.
I use Brenton's Septuagint it say pretty close to that 26And after the sixty-two weeks, the anointed one shall be destroyed, and there is no judgment in him: and he shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is coming: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed he shall appoint the city to desolations. 27And one week shall establish the covenant with many: and in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink-offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of time an end shall be put to the desolation.
I loved your message Pastor John. How would you respond to those who say that Jews going back to the land is a fulfillment of prophecy? What prophecy are they speaking of?
Ask them to show you, from Scripture, how the State of Israel is fulfilled prophecy. Most of the folks that say this are just regurgitating words they've heard from others and not the Bible.
Amen Amen Pastor John you are preaching nothing but the truth of the Gospel of the kingdom. Daniel 9:27 I believe that the Original king James Version is written better to give clear understanding the most important part for me is using Bible references and the Bible gives. Isaiah 42:6 6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; Amen 🙏! God bless!
The 70 weeks are a period of 490 days because in the first few verses, Daniel understood the 70 years of captivity are a result of failure to celebrate 70 Jubilees from the time of Saul unto their few years in captivity. Actually, they celebrated Jubilee only twice, once, during the birth of solomon and the next Jubilee they celebrated was during the inauguration of their Temple. Every 50 years, they should had celebrated 8 Jubilees and therefore, in there 451 years of history, they missed 70 Jubilees and only twice celebrated it. So, having kings and Temple doesn’t guarantee a right path to Yahweh but only make them sinned against Yahweh. So, the 70 weeks was not about rebuilding their Temple but rather points to the True Temple of Yahweh, his son, Jesus and his ministry. As a lamb of Yahweh, he must be of the first year, meaning, must be only year old as the length of his ministry, from his cleansing of the Temple unto the next year cleansing of the Temple again. It says the the roads shall be rebuilt again. Jesus being cutoff does not refer to his crucifixion but rather, him being chosen as the sacrificial lamb by his countrymen. This was Friday, after his 2nd cleansing of the Temple, five days before his death on April 28, 28 AD, Wednesday. One lunar year is 51 weeks but in 28 AD, an additional monty, Adar 2, was added before the Nisan 1 New Year, so as to wait for the harvest be ready. This makes the year 55 weeks and pushed the Passover to the end of April in 28 AD. The 70 weeks of Daniel did not started with a command of a Gentile king but rather by Yahweh Himself when Jesus was baptized by John on February 13, 27 AD, Thursday. Use 2003 calendar for this year. Add 7 weeks to it and this was the first entry of Jesus in Jerusalem, Thursday. The next day was his first cleansing of the Temple, Friday, for the after sunset Sabbath. Add the 7 weeks baptism to first cleansing to 55 weeks 2nd cleansing makes it 62 weeks where he was cutoff. Add 6 more days makes a total of 440 days. The 3 days and 3 nights from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday afternoon on May 1, 28 AD are not included. We still have 50 days more and this would be future. Add 66 times 11 times 1000 days takes you to January 20, 2016, the 7th year of Obama. Add 66 times 11 takes you to January 15, 2018, the 1st year of Trump. Add 11 times 28 or 11 lunar cycles and it will take you to the start of the covenant with many by the False Messiah. Trump’s days will only be 666 days. From Obama’s re-election on November 6, 2012, his rule was extended for 42 months. He will have to rule for another 40 weeks plus 6 weeks during the days of Tribulation. The last 50 days of the 70 weeks of Daniel will resume on the Days of Noah, the memorial of the flood, on the 17th day of moon wile the sun is at scorpio, on the 4365th year after the flood. It will be Saturday and Jesus told the Jews to pray the their flight be not Sabbath day, for it will be on November 24, 2018 and it will be winter on those 40 days of Tribulation.
Alfonso Leyson Daniel’s seventy weeks are a Messianic prophecy fulfilled.........Jesus Christ gets all the glory, praise God 🙏🏽 This is not about America, which didn’t even exist .....🙏🏽
This is so wrong. Why? Daniel tells us EXACTLY how many days are in the 70th week; 1290 for the first portion and 1335 for the second portion. That's 2,625 days for one "'week". When you study the Bible, it's best to read to the end of the book. Plus, the rebuilding of Jerusalem would have been completed before the first contractor got his bid in. Rubbish. Absolute rubbish.
why do you celebrate Christ mass?never commanded, but quite the opposite do not follow the way of the heaven. The Christmass is the pagan festival of saturnalia and the birth of Tammuz.
Alexander Gillan so what how the festival started it matters how it is seen now. You act as if there is no joy in Christians. For example, the phrase "the rule of thumb" was used in the middle ages to designate a husband wasn't to beat his wife with a stick bigger than the width of his thumb. Now, We can safely use that phrase without any ill intent. Th Furthermore, the message of Christmas now is peace and good will towards men. A thoroughly Christian message. I've seen the good will that comes out that day. Feeding the poor and hungry through the salvation army soup kitchens and food shelves. How do we know that like what happened to Joeseph isn't what is happening here. What was meant for malicious intent is now meant for good and part of God's plan.
@@vigc2871 its odd. Everything I've seen on him he is pretty sound. However, I do have major issues with people claiming to be an apostle. I can't tell what he is trying to rely with that, but surely he knows apostleship doesn't exist anymore.
I find it very strange that although the speaker talks of a continuous period of 490 years and says how important it is to understand how the timing of this prophecy fits into history, he never gives us a single date. I suggest that the reason for this omission lies in the fact that despite getting the basic understanding of the 70 'weeks' prophecy correct, his explanation is woefully inaccurate in its historical setting. Cyrus' total combined reign lasted for just 10 years, 537 - 527BC. and he never issued a decree to 'restore and rebuild Jerusalem', he only sanctioned the return of the Jews and the rebuilding of the Temple. However, if the speaker considers this to have been the start of the 490 years, then Christ would have completed his work no later than 37BC, which is clearly nonsense. But in addition, the speaker has Christ dying on the cross in the middle of the 70th 'week', thus he, Jesus, could not have fulfilled the prophecy which required that all six conditions whould be accomplished by Messiah, at the full end of 490 years. Daniel's 70 'weeks' requires a proper understanding of where in history to start and end the count, and that is from when Artaxerxes issued his decree in the spring of 458BC, to the spring of AD33. Jesus brought an end to sacrifice, in God's sight, by offering himself as the Atonement sacrifice at his 'baptism unto death' on Tishri 10, in AD29, and this, of course, being in the autumn, was in the middle of Daniel's 70th 'week'. It can be seen that the Roman war against the Jews, AD66 - 73, took place exactly 40 years after Daniel's 70th 'week'; with the last Atonement Day sacrifice taking place at the Temple in AD69, which was 40 years exactly after Jesus' baptism. From the above dates, it can also be seen that Jesus' birth was in the autumn of 2BC, which was the 1st year of the 77th Sabbatic cycle from the time the Jews resumed counting them after their return from Babylon, under Cyrus the king, in 534BC. It''s all quite straight forward really, when it is understood properly.
Thanks so much for your comment. It's very much appreciated. You are correct that it was Artaxerxes and not Cyrus. This is a point we have been meaning to correct, but wanted to be precise before doing so. There were 3 decrees, one each by Cyrus, Artaxerxes and Darius, but only Artaxerxes issued the decree that Daniel refers to. John used the wrong name of the ruler in his message here - our apologies. A correction in the description will come in due course. At some point we will issue another video on this with more precision on the historical detail, but this video remains correct in its theology and application of meaning, which is hugely important in the light of the crazy state of eschatological thought right now.
@@PeaceApostolicMinistries Thank you. It is important to see that Artaxerxes' decree was issued in the spring. Ezra left as soon as he could and it is recorded as being in the 1st month. This must be realised, as the midst if the 70th week must therefore be in autumn, with that final week ending in spring. When Christ cried out 'it is finished' he is referencing that ihis wotk began at his baptism. The scapegoat carried the sin of the people and it was led by the hand of a 'fit man' (the Holy Spirit) into the wilderness. Christ fulfilled the first stage of his sacrifice, carrying the sin if the people, on the only day set by God on which he could have, i.e. on the Day of Atonement. Space does not allow me to present the proofs of my other comments, but all of them cane be shown to be true and there are other points that could also have been made that tie in with them. I am well aware that most people understand that Christ being 'cut off' means his crucifixion, but this view is wrong. Isaiah is clear that Christ 'poured out his soul unto death', which he did for 3½yr. The 70 weeks is all about what Messiah would accomplish, there is no provision for an extra 3½yr being added after his death and claiming that the Spirit, or the Apostles, completed the prophecy during that time. Thanks for your time.
@@LanghamW1 It’s wonderful that you have taken the time to research this. @@DavidKing-qd3sp Please enlighten me cause I've been doing some serious thinking. I think the line of thinking is right..Jesus could not be telling the disciples about things that bore no relevance to them. But I think he draws to wrong conclusion to think it also bares no relevance to our times.
Jason, let me explain this passage to you. I am not wanting to appear arrogant, but few people understand this prophecy. For example, he reads the text wrong. He says - to seal up the vision and prophecy - 9: 24. The word prophecy is not in the Hebrew text. The word is really "prophet". You can check that out in Strong's Greek / Hebrew dictionary. So, who was the prophet - it was Stephen, you find that account in Acts 7: 51-60. It was the stoning of Stephen in AD 34 that ended the 490 years. So, Stephen the prophet was sealed up or brought to an end for that is what it means --he was silenced or sealed up by death, this is just one point to show you how he is wrong from the beginning and only a few people know this, because most of us just read the bible on a surface level. Stephen was the last prophet to speak to the old covenant nation of Israel and have a vision for them. But I want to say his view regarding the 70th week as not being a separated 7 year period in the future is correct. The 70 weeks or 490 years are consecutive time, no breaks. But most scholars / pastors preach that as truth but they are wrong. He is correct in most things but wrong in some important details. Another point is this - He says the 6 points of Daniel 9: 24 are completed by or at the death of Christ - not so, Jesus died 31 AD, Stephen was stoned in 34 Ad. He also says the phrase - most holy place refers to Christ (time 54 minutes on video) and that it is a challenging phrase to understand - but it refers to the Most holy Place in heaven -see Hebrews 8:1 - 2, ....before Christ started His ministry in heaven, the heavenly sanctuary had to be anointed as was done in the earthly see Exodus 40. 9. Also, he starts with Cyrus for the starting point of the decree but Cyrus gave his decree in 538 BC but there were 3 decrees some say 4 but for brevity and space lets deal with 3 as the 4th was just a restating of the 3rd decree. . The dates were 538 for Cyrus, 520 for Darius and 457 and 445 for Artaxerxes. But the proper starting date is 457 BC, for 538 BC would be much to early for the life and ministry of Christ, as you would go 483 years forward from the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem which he says is 538 BC but that would take you to 58 BC. We know King Herod died 4 BC so Christ was born around that time, Luke says in 3. 23 He was 30 when He started His ministry, so about 27 Ad Jesus was baptized, died in 31 Ad and the 490 years ended in 34 Ad. Decrees are in Ezra 1. 1; 6: 6:3 7:13; Nehemiah 2. So, Daniel 9:24 is telling us this - from the decree of Artaxerxes in 457 BC until the Coming of Messiah would be 7 weeks plus 62 which is 69 weeks or 483 years. So from 457 BC forward 483 years, that takes you to 27 Ad for the baptism and ministry of Christ. There is no zero year from BC to AD, you go from 1 BC to 1 AD. And then in the middle of the 70th week Christ would be crucified, so He ministered to the Jewish nation for 3.5 years and then after His death the disciples ministered exclusively to the Jews for another 3.5 years which fulfilled the 70th week of 7 years. So, when they crucified Christ and rejected the disciples message of Christ as Savior and stoned Stephen in 34 Ad the Jewish nation was cut off from being God's chosen people to bring the Gospel to the world and the Gospel now went to the Gentiles. So, Israel is now the church made up of every race, see Gal. 3.28-9. But the 70 weeks were as the KJV says - determined upon Israel, determined means - cut off, according to Strong's hebrew dictonary, which means the 70 weeks of years were cut off from a larger number - which would be the 2300 days of years in Daniel 8: 14...but that is another topic for another time, for the sake of brevity and space. Hope this helps, get back to me if you have a question on this.
@@DavidKing-qd3sp Question: Is there any promise left for God to visit Israel as a nation or is it as the Church since the 70 weeks are finished? And while you're on it touch a little on Romans 11. You've seemed to have really studied Gods word.....bless the Lord for you.
This guy is like so many that continue to teach the heresy of the interpretation of the covenant. The Covenant expressed in Dan 9:27 is the Covenant of Moses which the Hebrews continually violated. 😊
Scripture is clear. The Jews and Jerusalem had 70 weeks to finish transgression, make and end to sin, make reconciliation for the iniquity, bring everlasting righteousness... NOT the Messiah. So just how were the Jews and Jerusalem going to pull that off? They had 70 weeks to anoint the Most Holy. Not 62, 69, 69-1/2... Gabriel said "70 weeks".
sad to say you are so wrong in your view...christ made reconciliation and brought in righteousness not the jews...but they did finish the transgression by crucifying christ

Daniel 9:2 observes that Jeremiah the prophet predicted the number of years to pass before the desolations of Jerusalem (Jer 6:8) come to an end as being 70 years (Jer 25:11-12). Daniel 9:24 recasts the 70 years as 70 weeks of years for the desolations of Jerusalem. The starting point of the desolations is the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem (Dan 9:25). Jerusalem's desolation began with its fall circa 587 BC to Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. He destroyed the city and its temple for acts of rebellion to his rulership. Now subtract 490 years from 587 BC and the desolations of Jerusalem end circa 97 BC. Seven weeks of years or 7x7= 49 years later an anointed one, a prince appears (Dan 9:25). Subtract 49 years from 587 BC and the anointed one appears circa 538 BC. In 539 BC Babylon fell to Cyrus the Persian. Cyrus' edict allowed the Jews to return to their land and rebuild their temple (2 Chronicles 36:22-23) fulfilling Jeremiah's prophecy (2 Chr 36:22). By 538 BC Jews are returning to Jerusalem (2 Chr. 36:23). Among the returnees is a royal prince, Zerub'babel, the grandson of Judah's king, of Davidic ancestry, he was the Persian governor of the province of Judaea. The prophet Haggai declared that Zerub'babel was to become God's signet ring (Haggai 2:23) a euphemism for Messiah or king. The prophet Zechariah has Zerub'babel to become the post-exilic Davidic Messiah who is to build god's temple (Zechr 4:9-10; 6:12-14;), thus fulilling the words of the prophet Jeremiah and his 70 years of desolation prophecy (Zechr 7:5-7) God will dwell with his people upon the temple's completion (Zechr 8:3,8-9-13). The temple was completed by Zerb'babel by 515 BC (see p. 1145 commentary Book of Haggai. The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha, Expanded Edition. Editors: Herbert G. May and Bruce M. Metzger. 1977). The editors noted that the post-exilic Messiah was to be Zerub'babel according to Haggai and Zechariah: "...Haggai saw them [the rebuilding of the temple and re-establishment of the priests] also as necessary preparations for the messianic age. Upon the completion of these enterprises the wonderful era forseen by earlier prophets would come: for God would bless his people with fruitfulness and prosperity, overthrow the Gentiles, and establish Zerub'babel as the messianic king on the throne of David." When was Zerub'babel to be the anointed messiah? Haggai says this will happen AFTER GOD OVERTHROWS THE THRONE OF KINGDOMS (Haggai 2:22). This is apparently a veiled euphemism for the Persian monarchy which was apparently opposed to a messiah ruling at Jerusalem, fearing a future rebellion. Zerub'babel was apparently called back to the Persian Court and no Davidic Messiah ever reigned again after Jerusalem's fall and destruction to Nebuchadnezzar. So, Jesus is not the Messiah, it was Zerub'babel, who was to be the Messiah. Jeremiah's prophecy of 70 years of desolation is alluded to as about to be fulfilled and ended in the days of Cyrus (2 Chron 36:22), Haggai (Hagg 2:23), and Zecariah (Zechr 1:12). Jeremiah predicted a descendant of David would once again reign in a restored Jerusalem called the Branch (Jer 23:5-8) and Zerub'babel is alluded to as the Branch who will rebuild the temple (Zecr 6:11-14). Jesus cannot be the Messiah, he was too late by Jeremiah's 70 years timetable, 587 BC minus 70 years equals 517 BC for the Messiah to appear. Babylon fell to Cyrus in 539 BC so Jeremiah's 70 years was off by 22 years. But with the temple's completion at 515 BC Jeremiah's 517 BC end of Jerusalem's desolations is a near match! Conclusions: (1) Jesus is not the Messiah, it was to be Zerub'babel; (2) Jeremiah's 70 years of desolations for Jerusalem are a near match to the temple's restoration and return of God to dwell in it among his people in 515 BC. However, Haggai and Zechariah were wrong about God's declaration about overthrowing the Persian monarchy. Darius faced several revolts throughout his empire, attempts to overthrow him, all failed, and he remained in power. God had failed to overthrow the THRONE OF KINGDOMS (Haggai 2:22). You have confused Jeremiah’s prophecy of 70 years of captivity with Daniel’s entirely separate vision of 70 weeks, which would not even begin until the decree to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem was given nearly 100 years after the vision., found in Nehemiah. It 483 years later that the day the Anointed One appears, and it lines up exactly to what we call Palm Sunday when Jesus entered the city on a colt as predicted in Zechariah 9:10. And while you’re rereading Zechariah, read chapter 12:10 and tell me how that fits anyone other than Jesus.
Not me. I was trying to get a ? answered about adding Jubilee years to make the numbers fit. I understand they are off somewhat. My question came up in the wrong place.
Doreen, I wasn't replying to your question, but Walter's comments about Daniel "recasting" Jeremiah's prophecy. But, as far as the Jubilee year (every 49th year), I've never heard any scholar factor that into Daniel's prophecy. One of the very reasons for Jeremiah's 70 years was because the Jews missed 70 Sabbath years over the course of 490 years, and God was going to see to it the land got its rest.
Doug VB I got that but messages were getting mixed to the wrong places. My fault I don't usually comment so I was probably putting it in the wrong place. Thank you.
This is called Preterism, meaning all the prophecies were fulfilled by 70AD. One of the lesser accepted hermeneutics. He can’t even articulate what the Sabbath Week was nor its meaning. He simply says it is a heptad. Okay, why is it 7 years then? While he accuses others of twisting scriptures to “invent” the end times, he must allegorize it himself to explain away what is clearly unambiguous scripture.
Yes he is a preterist. But he presents his theory just fine. Everybody else takes that last part of Daniel's prophecy and throws it into the future. It's called a gap theory.
In Acts 1:6 the disciples ask Jesus shortly before His ascension, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” Jesus responded with “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority” He didn’t say there will never be a restored Kingdom of Israel, you got it all wrong or there’s been a change of plans.
Doug VB. That's just it. He doesn't say. We can only infer or read into the scripture. Actually, I kind of think he isn't done with Isreal ,also. But I don't believe it will be a political kingdom. I just don't see Gentiles and Jews as being one people of God yet. Look I just got through rereading Galatians, Ephesians and the other books, and it is very clear we are supposed to be "coheirs" of onebody. As for my comment just trying to remind people to be kind and not to scorn. Ephesians 25-32. GBU and take with you my prayers. Thank you for your time.
@@dougvb2096 Imagine this... You are in the presence of the Son of God working great miracles. You travel around with Him for about 3-1/2 years. You hear great teaching, all day, for 3-1/2 years which gets condensed down to a couple of thousand Red Letter words. My wife probably hit that number at dinner tonight. Wow, Jesus was remarkably tight-lipped. So, on all of those long walks throughout Judea, what were He and the disciples talking about? When are they stopping for lunch? No. They knew He was coming back and with a rod of iron and shattering the governments like so much cheap pottery. That's what they wanted to know in Matthew 24 and in Acts 1:6. "Okay Lord, we've been under Roman oppression for a long time. We have no king. The Romans even select our High Priests and that lot is a crooked as a dog's hind leg. Is it now? If not, when?" The disciples would have made lousy Preterists.
Amen brother it's such a blessing being able to find such a channel that teaches and preaches the truth 🙏 Amen!
Absolutely correct Pastor! What a great message!

@@joyceruserious7920 It's so simple

I was thinking on this last week and thinking if there was or was not a gap in these years or not.
@@mcgeorgerl Thanks for the insights.
I will research more.

I know, but the the NIV do not deny the commandments so let’s put up with it.
why do you celebrate Christ mass?never commanded, but quite the opposite do not follow the way of the heaven.

@@PeaceApostolicMinistries
Thank you.
Thanks for your time.

good observation...his theology is just as blinding....his view on Daniel 9 - the 70 weeks is wrong

Walter R. Mattfeld is there a Jubilee year in the calculations?
In Acts 1:6 the disciples ask Jesus shortly before His ascension, “Lord, is it at
this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” Jesus responded with “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority” He didn’t say there will never be a restored Kingdom of Israel, you got it all wrong or there’s been a change of plans.
Is it now? If not, when?" The disciples would have made lousy Preterists.
mcgeorger1 Just so we're clear, I am not a preterist. John Ally is.
