- Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947, at his Fair Lane estate in Dearborn, Michigan. Thousands mourned his death. Many waited in a mile-long line to pay their respects when Ford lay in state at Greenfield Village. This footage shows the funeral recessional and the throngs who waited outside St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral.

He died a week after my father was born. My father was a heck of a mechanic, unfortunately lost him in 2020.
Thank you Henry Ford
the Man.
The public burial service for Henry Ford II was held in the same church, St. Paul's Cathedral, Detroit (not St. Patrick's - wrong city, wrong denomination . . .).
