Although I watch many instructors in crocheting videos you are by far my favorite. I have really missed your instructional videos. You are the best instructor I’ve ever seen. You are articulate and never make us feel stupid for not knowing how to do certain stitches.
It is stunning!! Thank you so much! I cannot wait to make this!! As always Mikey you knocked it out of the ballpark!!!🏆. Thank you and thank Yarnspirations!!
I never realized, until this video, how much a background makes a difference. I love your wooden top! I wish more TH-camrs would pay attention to this.
You have outdone yourself. This is georgous and exactly what I have been looking for. This is perfect for a very special person that has come into my life recently. A great Thank You. Thank you Mikey, so much.
My wife has a yarn channel. I'm pretty sure she has learned stitches from your channel. Thanks. I think your channel is great and I think you have a beautiful personality. My wife Ginger is always busy with her channel so I can imagine how busy you must be. Keep up the great work 💛
What a great pattern. I have some lovely 6 weight cream colored yarn and I’ve been wanting to make a textured throw with it; but wasn’t nuts about any of the patterns I’ve seen. This one fits the bill- not over-complicated and with a clear tutorial as well as a written pattern and stitch diagram. I appreciate how you point out the places where it would be easy to go wrong- that really helps cut down on frustration for me! I’ve found my next project!
I'm doing this with just the first 12 rounds, making squares and sewing them together for the blanket. I'm using Caron Big Cakes in Vanilla Bean. It's working out nicely!
This is soooo pretty. I think the square pattern would make an interesting center panel for a cocoon sweater...once you reach the heighth you want/need pick one of the designs and expand the width on either side...use another one of the stiches for cuffs and collar. Voila' you have a one of a kind cocoon sweater. Thanks for an awesome tutorial.
You really are the best. It was watching a video of you back in 2009 that I grew to love crochet. I was a knitter but due to a car accident I found it painful to sit up to knit. Can't thank you enough. I can lean to one side and crochet for hours. I agree with so many others. YOU ARE THE BEST!!! 🥰💕🎉
Probably one of the most challenging projects I’ve undeundertaken but made so much easier by your tutorial- thank you!! Love the pattern, the cross stitches of round 8 are the most difficult for me! 🙈 only on my second repeat so hoping it’ll get easier as I go along. Thank you for sharing your design. Xx
Hey Mikey! My husband met you today and mentioned that I was working up this pattern. So cool he was able to meet you! Hope all is well. :) happy crocheting!
This is so beautiful! I have a textured blanket in the same color but different stitches that my Grandmother knitted in the 1970’s. I always wanted to figure out how to get that vintage look, and figure out the knitted stitches. I crochet way faster then I knit. You beautifully did my work for me by creating a vintage Afghan look with crochet. I LOVE Your fabulous work.
This video has helped me so much with this pattern. I'd never criss-crossed stitches and just trying to follow the written pattern was not getting it for me but watching and following you in this video, I've mastered it!! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you mikey I’ve been waiting for this one since seeing it on the stitch social I can’t wait to start I’m doing it in regular yarn in different colours , just love it’s texture , super pattern great instructions , merry Christmas 🎄amanda xx☃️
I noticed on the printed pattern that the stitch counts for rounds 6 and 7 were off. Round 5 had 13 stitches, round 6 adds two stitches to each side to the chain 2 space. round 6 should therefore have 17 stitches per side. I was going nuts since I usually try to follow along with the stitch counts at the end of instructions for each round. Since round 6 has 17 stitches, round 7 should be adjusted to be 19. Just fyi, the printed instructions I have are dated August 28, 2023
So... After starting, going through the first rep, (1-12 row), I didn't like how my first attempt looked. I went up 2 hook sizes, count was off, FROGGED, tried again, FROGGED,... UGHHH... Went up 1 more size (7mm), go slow, and count, count each side as you go. Rewind and watch the way Mikey does it. Pay special attention to the criss-cross positions. Oh and count again!! Lol what a wonderful challenge. This has made me slow down and enjoy the process.
Hi. How do you like using the LB pound of love? I used it on another project and didn't like it at all. I had trouble with the yarn unraveling/separating. I had to keep twisting it to get it back to normal. I have several skeins left to use...
Thank you Mikey for this pattern and video! I was just gifted a lot of Bernat Blanket yarn and immediately printed this pattern! Now to go through the bags and see how many I have of each color so I can decide what color to make it! So excited! Love your videos!
I love this pattern. I made one with the vintage white colored yarn and also started one with a #4 weight yarn. Now I also want a pink one using Bernat blanket yarn. I think the only concern for me with this tutorial is I would like to hear you alittle louder. With the volume at the highest setting possible on my phone it still sounds like your microphone isn't close to you. Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial.
I’m going to add these lovely stitches to a sampler blanket I’m making. I’m only an intermediate crocheter - I completed this video, but had one extra stitch on just the first side by the end, and could not resolve it, so didn’t go on with the repeat. But the stitches look beautiful, and you taught me a lot.
Omg Mikey so beautiful just printed out pattern I have 2 bernat blanket need 6 more will go to either joannes or micheals pick up the rest of yarn its Gorgeous thank you. Happy hpildays. Got my yarn for boxing day Happy Holidays
Love the look of this blanket. I have been waiting on this tutorial ever since the preview. For some reason though I’m having trouble getting past round 4. I have froged it 4 times already! My stitch count comes out wrong on the last side. I’m loosing a stitch. I’ll keep trying. Maybe I should try it with a thinner yarn first. I’m using a super bulky 6 with a 9mm hook. We’ll see what the next few days bring.
I am with you. I got watch this very carefully plus when. Row 12 than when I next set off. Rows. I got mix up. Which row I am on and. I miss count. Grrr now started. Complain. Over my 4 time. I hope get right this time . My own fault. Grrrr
I just finished making this using Premier Puzzle yarn in Crossward. Wish I could post a picture. Turned out beautiful. I struggled a little bit but I finally got it.
Hi Elizabeth, just been looking at the Premier Puzzle yarn that you use for the study of snow blanket could you tell me how many you used please. Thank you.
Row 21 says 65 DC. But adding 4 this round should bring it to 67. The total stitches on all rows after that would be off too. I can adjust going forward but want to make sure I'm reading things correctly. Thanks Mikey!
Where do you get the written pattern I would like to have one if possible thank you, merry Christmas and a very happy new year, I love to see men crochet in todays generation. My father was a knitter, I am elderly so you no that to see a man knitted back then was unusual.👍🇨🇦
