Taking the self discipline to watch every Protools tutorial you've ever made. Just bought a brand new iMAC so now I can keep up with my workflow. Im looking forward to it. Ima be pushing music.
Out of all of 8-10 years of watching TH-cam mixing ur the best at explaining. I’m good at mixing but u helped me to add on to my skills thanks my brother. Definitely subscribing!
Very intellectually spoken, the clarity in his teaching is spot on. I haven’t found a channel this size with this level of knowledge of mixing and music production. You definitely deserve a lot more exposure. Keep grinding bro!
You have seriously been the first person I’ve watched who explains producing on a level that anyone and everyone can understand! Thanks man and keep doing it big! 👌🏾
Thank you for this simple explanation as a singer I have always relied on sound engineers for the sound of my voice. And I haven’t always been happy. Your videos help me learn to have more insight when I self record.
This is a SUPER helpful video on mixing EQ! Thank you thank you thank you for posting this. I'm a total mixing beginner and your video is saving my life right now for a mixing project I have to do.
its like i have a better understanding every time i come back to the videos thats how i know im getting better! my first time watching this was like speaking a whole new language lol!
I been producing for some time now and was always interested in working with vocals in pro tools but never had the courage too. I was gonna purchase a pro tools course but I came across your channel and its been helping out so much. Appreciate you bro bro
Very informative man. keep doing your thing. I just started my home studio using Neumann TLM 103 mic, Apollo Twin audio interface, JBL LSR305 monitors, DT 880 PRO semi-open headphones for monitoring, Sony 7510 closed back for recording and SE Mic shield for acoustics. So im really trying to learn as much as possible to be able to mix and master my recordings in a pro way without needing anyone else help. Stay blessed bro
12:00 Exactly! Somebody told me years ago "with the software EQs you better cut what you don't need and then raise the gain". That's because specially in past Software EQs used to do weird things to the "bell"/knee or however it called - the frequencies right before and/or after those which you are trying to raise. So even though things have changer for the better I'm still very cautious with them Software EQs...
Great video dude. This is my first time on your channel. Your knowledge and explanations are awesome. I have subscribed and I look forward to more of your informative videos man. Absolutely valuable.
Wavy you are the goat fr fr. The way you explain in such a way that everyone can understand is insane bro. Subscribed and I for sure will turn people on to you. Thanks bro
AAA Famus Good luck man and make sure to take your time. I’ve been mixing vocals for almost 3 years. There’s gonna be times when you want to say “fuck it” due to it being difficult at some moments, but if it’s something you love doing, keep at it and spend as much time as you can to learn as much as possible 🙌 I’m no professional, but I just wanted to share a few tips from the bit of experience I have.
I've always enjoyed Wayne's of explaining. KUDOS my brutha, great channel. Man I just subscribed, and please forgive that I haven't done this years ago.
I've always been boosting the lowest eqs but after watching this I'll have to double check that. I've probably just been adding needless rumble and I may consider cutting the lows.
That ish was Hard that ish was hard dougie after putting myself thru a thorough wavy Wayne education I’m ready to input into this world “can’t nobody say we didn’t try to explain it without righteousness
Wayne. You are a professor extraordinaire of audio technology for us novices. Thank you so much. I wonder what you would do with classical music recordings.....?
Thanks for the video. As a beginner it's hard comprehending everything. I'm starting to understand a little better though . I have so many notes to look back to.
Hi Wayne, thanks for this fantastic video on EQ. After many many years I recorded my own first song. I need to EQ the song and then mix it effectively so I can be liked by my friends. Now the question is, is there a step by step guide which I can use to mix my vocals using Pro Tools first? I am totally new learner, so I need basic steps on how I can import my karaoke track, and then import my vocal track which I already have recorded, Compress, EQ, Reverb or Echo... (make corrections to any phrase that is not clearly or brightly sung, keep the sound level consistent throughout the song, etc) and finally bounce the song as a final cut.
bro you dont understand.....your vids literally taught me so much bro......and the way you break stuff down and simplify it for us pro tool users.....smh i cant thank you enough bro....please do a vid on mastering a hip hop track, its alot of misconceptions about how one should go about mastering hiphop and rap vocals, also please do a vid on getting the vocals to sit nicely in a 2 track , and also please do a vid on how to find the key of a beat so the autotune sounds nice(seriously OG please consider these vids for us) im new to the game and fairly young, but i want to be able to mix and know the ins and outs on my own ...i dont wanna pay engineers to mix when i can do so at home and save the money to invest in myself!! i salute you bro....any pages you have where i can donate to ya?? im sure me and alot of others will be willing to donate to you for your help
Can you sweep with a high narrow Q? I love Logic, but EQ is EQ. Thanks for making me realize that Low cutting will make the sounds brighter. Great video.
yo Wayne your vids are dope. I think one on stereo imaging and panning sounds would be v helpful, something with a lot of examples if possible. Thanks for creating dope content stay smooth bro
Ive watched this video at least 3 times for reference (because you’re a great teacher) and I just noticed your username for your Mac is “Heethen” 😂😂 you are a comedian bro

First off, Bruh ur vids are sooooo helpful. Keep doing ur thang mane! Lol I have a question abt mixing harmonies. A lot of ppl use 3 or 4 takes of one part but I notice u only use one. Is tht a preference or do u also sometimes use multiple takes to make it “more full”?
Thank you for doing this stuff man. It's a big help. I just got pro tools today and your tutorials are by far the best.
That’s dope. Thanks. I’ll be making some more beginners videos soon.
