Your mindset is awesome! I’m living almost 2 years in Tokyo now. I’m not rich too. Just working in a supermarket 35 hours a week. But I can pay our rent, electric bill, gas bill, internet, water bill and can save money every month. Such kind of live in this circumstances would be impossible in Germany where I come from. I really love Japan. I work so hard to come here and I‘m really really thankful that I can live here.
