Nice video, although the voice is horrible... Since I'm interested in that subject, I looked up city population growth. This list will have quite some changes in the not-so-far future. While Delhi, Shanghai and Dhaka are still growing fast, sooner or later some other cities will enter this list. Several chinese and indian cities will make it to the list but Africa is catching up rapidly. With Lagos, Kinshasa and Cairo already being close, they are also growing fast. American cities instead will soon be off the list and european cities most likely will fall back further, since population is sort of stable in most european countries nowadays.

If you consider the same area for São Paulo you consider for Shanghai or Tokyo, for example, São Paulo would appear with more than 33 million people. Because for me, a city ends geographically and politically where its borders end, or rather where the administrative borders and administration end. The largest city in the world is actually Chongqing (China) with a total area of 82,403 square kilometers (within the administered city limits and administration under Chongqing) with a population of around 32 million residents.

When it comes to humans affecting climate change, the number 1 reason is population growth. It took more than 1000 years for the population to double from 1 AD to 1100 AD when the population was 340M. In the last 70 years, the population MORE THAN TRIPLED to 8B today. Thanks India and China... maybe some family planning should be considered in these countries especially since they are the biggest polluters in the world (Ever see their cities? A blanket of smog covers them.)
