This is Part 2 of Arduino laser turret series. In this video I learned basic electronics concepts, starting with voltage, current, resistance and Ohm's law.
I will go through components used in this circuit including: resistors, capacitors, laser diodes and voltage regulator. Main goal for today is to design, calculate and simulate constant current laser diode driver.

How to build a laser that could cut a steel plate 4mm thick?

Use a more powerful laser. I will use a 5mW diode, laser cutters can reach above 10000W.

You need either a fiber laser, which are very expensive, or use a plasma cutter, which is like $200.
