note: Only the first location is the hidden beach which needs to be accessed by a private property. Others are public beaches in the north.

Hello, nice video ! I was wondering what is the reglementation on fishing from shore in Mauritius, specially from beaches. Can we fish freely or is it restricted at some place ? Thank you
Hello. You can fish freely in any beach. Above the high tide water level mark is private land except in public beaches. Now there are sometimes jetty on beaches build by hotels, these are private too. Certain beaches are only entered through a private property as there is no other way, thus you might need permission. Hope it helps. You can refer to Beach Authority Act & Pas Géométrique Act for more legal details. 😉
