Bloody marvelous! I was watching full screen and shouted that it's just like ELO then all these similar comments made me smile! I'm a big jeff lynne fan and this, whether deliberate or not, is a fitting tribute to the great hairy one! Bought fyfe's new album on the strength of this song alone just now!
I still can't believe Bernard Butler can churn out tunes like this.... it's crazy good. Fyfe wasn't kidding when he said that Bernard got the best set of drums lol
you might wanna check the guy behind the song --> Bernard Butler, who now produces a lot of songs for other artists. formerly from Suede before leaving the band during their 2nd big album. Duffy is also one of Butler's touch
The only good thing about working in a retail store is they play some awesome music over the intercom where i work lol, ive been looking for this song forever.
Love this song sooooo much. I know Fyfe is from the Midlands, but I can't shake off the idea that the video looks a bit like it was filmed in Birmingham. Any ideas people?
Great to see a lot of good comments on this. I think its quite epic and you know, to put something like this together the writer has to be a bit special. Should have gone further.
I so want Fyfe and The Guillemots to become a household name because he's one of the best things happening in music right now. But at the same time I want him to be a well kept and preserved secret. "She Needs Me" has a beautifully uplifting and anthemic quality. It's reminiscent of something that I really love but I can't remember what. This one is right up there, for me, with 'Over The Stairs', 'Were Here' and 'Clarion'. Top draw, Fyfe. Thank God we have you.
I love this song, and I yoddle along to it every time it comes on the radio, everything about it is beautiful. Fyfe's voice and the wonderful production. Being 51 I am old enough to have grown up with ELO, and this song does remind me a bit of ELO and Jeff lynne's style of production, particularly the strings, but that is no bad thing !! I wonder if Jeff Lynne was involved in producing it ? does anyone know ? I want to go and hear the rest of the album now !! Well done, It is fab Fyfe !!!!
Been privileged enough to see this man live 3 times now. 1st time was supporting Rufus and was SO dissapointed to see them leave the stage and Rufus come on! Pure talent!
Heard this for the first time this morning on radio1.. and i have to say I was hooked first listen :D Just awesome, its been a long time since a song has had me speechless on first listen!
Yes Talulah - well spotted ref Bernard Butler. Listen to record producers tonight at 10pm on Radio 2 for a special on the much unsung gentleman - I cannot wait!
Watched you at Manchester last Tuesday, great performance, wifey now wants me me to buy her your cds, so thanks for the expense mate :-) Got to say, prefer your live performances, no video, no drums, no backing, just you, voice, and whatever you play. Keep it up mate,.
heard this on the radio, love the Guillemots and Fyfe, spent the whole song saying 'This is him! This is him!' but didn't know anything new had been released... pleasantly surprised he's bringing out a solo album!
The Guillemots are coming back with an album pretty soon according to their FB page. Nevertheless, Fyfe's solo was one of the best albums of 2010. The double CD edition is specially mind-blowing.
@fyfedangerfield I love this song. The last verse 'faster than the setting sun we'll run away' makes me weep but personal reasons that those words just do. They way Fyfe sing it is just so .....
Hi, Fyfe grew up in Brumsville and educated in Bromsgrove... need to get around to uploading one of hist first demos that appeared on a free CD with teh Birmingham Post years ago, you can tell the talent even in his early work.
@400mik Jeff Lynne of ELO produced a lot of George Harrisons work, most notably Cloud Nine. During these recordings they did often jam together then went on to form THE TRAVELLING WILLBURIES with Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison. If you've missed these bands, albums it's a must buy...
Yes it certainly does sound like ELO....a sort of more modern ELO but still with the trademark strings. I think at some parts of the song he even sounds a bit like Jeff Lynne! And theyre for teh same city....Birmingham I believe! The string arrangements are SO ELO tho! fantastic!! Why cant there be more songs like this these days.....strings add so much depth and feel good factor to a song.
Desde 2009 esta canción??? Pues desde cuando comenzó? Yo apenas con esta canción lo voy conociendo jajaja, seguiré escuchando más d él para conocer más su música.
Love this track. Saw Fyfe perform it live at Shepherds Bush last week and it was brilliant. First time I heard the recorded version I thought of Bernard Butler and wondered if he was involved in the production?
@lauraEIL thanks for clearing that one up for me. I did hear he was from the Birmingham area, or perhaps studied there, I can't quite remember. The city sky-line shots looked rather familiar. AH WELL, thanks again!
This was my first dance at my wedding!
This song would be nothing without that beast of a string arrangement
…that Brass arrangement isn’t too shabby either.
Of course it would. It's an amazing song.
God that sounds like ELO which is great.
Jeff lynne must be proud of his legacy.
What a banging tune! Found this track over 10 years ago and never thought to leave feedback but doing it now!
❤️️

There are serious ELO overtones here, and being a huge ELO fan, that pleases me!
I still can't believe Bernard Butler can churn out tunes like this.... it's crazy good. Fyfe wasn't kidding when he said that Bernard got the best set of drums lol
Great string arrangement.....shades of ELO!
I love this song. fyfe you're annoyingly gorgeous, incidentally.
How has this only had 535,000 views? Such a beautiful track.
About 50 of those are me!!!!!
The very definition of underrated, still only half a million views in 14 years.. makes you wanna weep.
The orchestral arrangements are so amazing!!!! How have I not heard of this man earlier?????
you might wanna check the guy behind the song --> Bernard Butler, who now produces a lot of songs for other artists. formerly from Suede before leaving the band during their 2nd big album. Duffy is also one of Butler's touch

this arrangement has everything and the kitchen sink, utter brilliance
Secretary: Mr Dangerfield, Jeff Lynne's on line 2
Fyfe: Give him ten grand.
Great song. I can't believe it only charted at 152 in the UK.
I am the ultimate geeky ELO fan so when I heard this I instantly loved it - great arrangement catchy and classic. Gimme More!
This has one of the best choruses of any song. ever. :)
I am suppose to be making my bed, but my playlist started playing Fyfe and now I am distracted. Darn you Fyfe and your sexiness!
I don't even know how I found Fyfe... but he's now my favorite. I love his voice! :)
The first song with two choruses? Sublime!
I was in a terrible mood all week. This video and song brought me out of it. Now I feel quite happy! Thanks Fyfe!
Love this song sooooo much. I know Fyfe is from the Midlands, but I can't shake off the idea that the video looks a bit like it was filmed in Birmingham. Any ideas people?

Jeeze Fife (JEFF LYNNE) Dangerfield! Well done! E.L.O. revisited at last!
I had never heard of this bloke before and only looked at it because my sister recommended it. He's pretty good though! I like it!
It's taken me ages to find out who this is...loads of airplay..but they never say who it is!! Excellent song.

Lovely
Thank you Polydor (well, Fyfe after the cross-collateralisation) for spending some money on the video.
Love the 'whoo' in the middle.
How has this got such a small amount of views, I think 400,000 of them are by me alone.
I love this song, and I yoddle along to it every time it comes on the radio, everything about it is beautiful. Fyfe's voice and the wonderful production. Makes me feel sooooooo good. What a great bassline and what great lyrics!
Electric light orchestra.....Very good song Fyfe congratulations .
Been privileged enough to see this man live 3 times now. 1st time was supporting Rufus and was SO dissapointed to see them leave the stage and Rufus come on! Pure talent!
This song validates my life.
Riminds me of an ELO song especially the chorus - love it!
yes - modern ELO!! with a little Lennon perhaps
wtd What's ELO song ?????
sir bantsalot OMG - i was just thinking the same!!
+sir bantsalot Me too
Nice try, but after listening to ELO for the last 2 hours I gotta say they are still the real deal. Reminiscient and enjoyable, but nowhere close
Go Fyfey, pushin your Brummie sounds around the world... p.s. Bromsgrove misses you!!!
I don't understand how he can be so wonderfully beautiful and have such an amazing voice :')
That moment when I was looking for a totally different song and inadvertently rediscovered this... Still a fantastic track.
I LOVE this song!! Never heard of the guy before but I'm a definate fan from now on!! AMAZING!
Forgot how much I love this song, found it today on an old ipod, 2024

Yeah - I'm thinking that too. Remember YES by the guys! Awesome track!
I just got my hands on this album and it's INCREDIBLE. Much better than I expected, even for Fyfe. Definitely one of my favorites of 2010.
heard this on the radio, love the Guillemots and Fyfe, spent the whole song saying 'This is him! This is him!' but didn't know anything new had been released... pleasantly surprised he's bringing out a solo album!

Come back mate ...... Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is a bloody fantastic tune!!!!!
Why do people always rate comments that say "love this song" or "good song" negatively?
So in love with this song! And with Fyfe, of course! ;)
"I am yours, you can do what you like with me" = ♥
Seen this guy in Leeds supporting Corrine Bailey Rae. Exellent Superb *****
Top Girls on Violins *FIT*
I absolutely adore him. Why is Justin Bieber famous but Fyfe is not? The music gods need to have their hearing checked.
The Guillemots are coming back with an album pretty soon according to their FB page.

reminds me of everyday people by sly and the family stone, fantastic tune this man has talent
Very akin to Edison Lighthouse's classic 'Where my Rosemary goes...' Still a great tune..
Amazing song, bit like Edison Lighthouse's Love grows where my Rosemary goes...
I love it. Saw this on music channels a few weeks ago. Fab xxx
Heard it many times at the radio
I could listen to this song till the end of time and it would not be enough!

Every aspect of this song shouts ELO!
