My parents (mother Hamidan Bibi D/O Ghulam Muhammad Awan & father Muhammad Shafique Awan S/O Abdul Aziz Awan) both belongs to this village Singowal. My Maternal Grandfather Ghulam Muhammad Awan was three brothers i.e. Shafi Muhammad Awan, Fateh Muhammad Awan (Kala Fatta) and Ghulam Muhammad Awan. Ghulam Muhammad Awan has two sons Abdul Latif Awan (alive & live in Village Bhureke Tehsil Pasrur District Sialkot), Rashid Ahmad Awan (died in India), Rashid Fatima, Aziz Fatima (Jijjan Bibi), Hamidan Bibi & Jameela Bibi (Died in Padana Village near Pak-India Border during partition) whereas my Maternal Grandfather Ghulam Muhammad Awan was died in village Dadday Sanora near Bias River in Jalandhar and Maternal Grandmother Azmat Bibi was died in village Babakwala near Shahdara Town near Lahore during partition process and she was buried in a graveyard situated at Tilla near village Babakwala. Whereas Fateh Muhammad Awan (Fatta Kala) has four sons i.e. Late Muhammad Sharif Awan, Late Muhammad Shabbir Awan, Late Muhammad Siddique Awan, Late Muhammad Rafique Awan settled in village Sajjada Jorianwala Tehsil & District Hafizabad but it is pertinent to mention here that Fateh Muhammad Awan (Kala Fatta) accompanied Ch. Abdul Kareem Awan of Village Panjdhera Kalan during partition process but unfortunately he was murdered/died in Lahore before reaching his family in Pakistan and he was buried in any place in Lahore. He was a brave man and close friend of Ch. Abdul Karim Awan. Shafi Muhammad Awan was died in Village Singowal in India and he has a son named Late Muhammad Jamil Awan Numberdar settled in Village Bhureke Tehsil Pasrur District Sialkot. My Maternal family was called Kokay, Kalay & Chigalpindia in Village Singowal Mukerian Hoshairpur India. My Grand father Abdul Aziz Awan was two brothers i.e. Abdul Aziz Awan and Aziz Ahmad Awan both are also settled in Village Bhureke Tehsil Pasrur District Sialkot. Late Abdul Aziz Awan has one son Muhammad Shafique (my father) & one late daughter and Aziz Ahmad has three sons i.e. Late Abdul Majeed Awan, Late Muhammad Idrees Awan and Rashid Ahmad Awan presently living in Lahore. My real uncle Abdul Latif Awan's wife Fazal Bibi D/O Hussain Bakhsh of Village Panjdhrea Kalan is still living in Village Bhureke Tehsil Pasrur District Sialkot and they both (husband & wife) has an age of 90+ years. Nussa and Dussa two Awans brothers along with families were settled in Mukerian area in Mughal era from Dani Soan an area of Soon Sakasar Valley of District Khushab West Punjab Pakistan. They migrated to Mukerian on an invitation of a local Raja during Mughal era. Before partition they were living in 86/87 villages surrounding to Mukerian Town. Mukerian Town was also settled by these Awans. Malik Mubarak Khan Awan of Village Panjdhera Kalan, Malik Mansoor Khan Awan of Mansoorpur (Nephew of Malik Mubarak Khan) and Ch. Abdul Karim Awan of Panjdhera Kalan was the prominent figures of Awan tribe of this area. Malik Mubarak Khan Awan and Malik Mansoor Khan Awan fought many wars with the army of Sansar Chand, Raja of Kangra India. Malik Mubarak Khan Awan had a Sang (Sword/Talwar) of 32 Saayar (25.60 KG) with which he fought with his enemies. In 1947 these 86/87 villages of Awan Tribe fully migrated to Pakistan and settled in various areas/parts of Punjab i.e. Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Layyah, Mandi Baha-ud-Din, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Kasur etc.
