As a Facebook admin of two groups related to being Ace (I describe myself as a demi/gray panromantic ...), bullying of any kind, but especially in a space that supposed to offer comfort and support, is an anathema to me, and bullying by an Admin, of all people, is just downright wrong ...
I wish I had known about this sooner! We very briefly had a fictive alter that took on the form of The Doctor from Doctor Who. He believed that the reason he was there was because he had just regenerated and the TARDIS was missing. He was active for about three days before he disappeared. I guess he ended up finding that blue box after all 😊
Hey not sure if youll get this notification, but! I was under the impression that alters can never go away, theyll always stay in the subconscious. Is this accurate?
@@Novjuly Not sure if you already have an answer but here goes anyways: alters can integrate into the host and they usually add certain aspects of their own personality back into the alter. In that way I guess you could say they never leave but after integration they are no longer in the headspace and are no longer a separate entity
I feel like I need to say that I'm sorry for some reason. I can't fathom living an entire life as someone (or as a Senseate literally 8 someones) and having memories from that life and then suddenly waking up inside a different body and learning all of this. I mean, Lito had a beautiful and loving family and a cluster with 7 other people, who were very much like alters, that he was physically and emotionally connected to. And in one moment all of that was gone. I get that he understands his existence now, but every conscious moment must feel like a state of mourning regardless. So I guess I want to say that "I'm sorry" like you say it at a funeral. I'm sorry you lost everything that you thought you had and everyone that you thought you were. I hope you are finding peace with your new collection of people and that they become just as much your family. Stay strong. Sending much love in your direction!

As a Mexican person I can tell you this: Don't worry about a fictive coming across as "rac1st" or some such, at least where Mexicans are concerned. We're far more tolerant than people think (mostly because they are US centric, but that's another story), and most of us are good at knowing if someone's being disrespectful or not. ^w^

And as the one adopted black person to go to school there, everyone was terribly racist to me. They'd literally teach their kids to flip me off as they drove by and scream "negro" and praise them. School was also terrible. I got off topic but I'm saying maybe something isn't offensive to you but is to others. Race doesn't matter because we're all just homosapiens.
We have a Leto, pronounced the same way, who is an internal mother figure. She chose her name based on Leto from Greek mythology. Not because she identifies as the Greek goddess, but because the name and story spoke to her.
Going back to rewatch some of the earlier videos and it’s wonderful to see how far Lito has come in his journey to understanding his situation and how much his confidence in the outside world has grown
People also seem to add "fictives can only be formed early in childhood: so recent media fictives are always fake". They seem to forget that alters who were not fictives before, can sometimes change their form and almost associate themselves with a fictional character. Fictives + introjects are all usually different, and their identities can shift. While one of us only feels some sort of "kinship" to a character, another one can literally act like, talk like, and look like (in headspace) this character they have become. I honestly think, while an all-fictive system may be a minor red flag: it isn't inherently proof of a fake system. and people harassing others over miscommunication or misinformation (which is spread around on tumblr constantly) needs to be talked about. People can become confused on their own disorder, hell I still am. People just need to be kindly and calmly educated about this and to seek a therapist. DID is confusing and scary, and the last thing people need to do is harass and bully someone already vulnerable and scared into running and being in further denial about a disorder that might be there.
God I needed to read this I had my own system before but it fucking did not go well and I went through an earth shattering year long meltdown as my alters tried to either hurt me or hurt people around me and then they started to just disappear after I'd left my stressful living situation, But upon re entering a toxic environment I found that they'd been replaced??? It's like, while I was recovering I believe my system rearranged itself because of how terribly it had previously performed, now I have very few original alters and I have predominantly Fictives but this actually works and is healthy for me now, so I'm glad to hear that people can just respect that we dont understand how these disorders work and it's not okay to accuse people of being fake without some SERIOUS proof. And even if they're wrong about what they have, even the act of someone "faking it" is a sign of other mental illnesses and should be treated with concern, not accusation. No one "fakes" this for attention. They may MISDIAGNOSE themselves, but that's not something anyone should be attacked for.
If you also already have DID and you go through something bad again, if the mind feels needed it can create another alter, and it is possible that alter could be a fictive.

I have an Alter that can understand and speak Japanese. Or at least all the Japanese that the body has heard and connected to concepts via English or German translations. The rest of us can't though. It's weird to be in my normal German thinking mindspace (or the English thinking mindspace while I'm on the web), have something unexpected happen and suddenly have my thoughts interjected by a sharp "Nani gore?" That part cannot read or write japanese though, as noone of us has ever learned how to do it.

Oh my god thank you. Most of my alters are fictives from the show eddsworld that i’ve loved for so long, and they took a personality of their own. I went through some really harsh things a while back, and i’ve always been really attached to these characters. Since most of them are fictives I feel like I can’t tell anyone about them. I feel like nobody will believe me and its awful.
rockystone 1624 there can also be alters that are part of a system that the host just doesn't know about yet. They could have been there from the beginning but they only show themselves to their host when the host needs them.

I think the specific tv show that lito is from makes this even more interesting. It is about 8 strangers who suddenly start to have there minds connected. Almost a reverse of a person with DID. One body but several minds. Kind of interesting. Maybe some part of your subconscious also thought that a character with an experience living connected to others may help the different minds if your body connect. That's some interesting stuff.

Wow, I really didn't know that accents might not be able to come through fully like they should due to the hosts unfamiliarity. We have two fictive systemmates both that should have accents come through more properly. One should have a thicker accent and should be able to roll their r's but becuase of our host cannot, and another has almost no accent where one would expect one. It's actually very helpful to know that this is normal!~k
I'm a osdd 1b system and there is a alter that goes by mickey. Shameless, never watched it but know it exists and maybe sometime I might have had contact with it and now he is part of the system, first one to be revealed to me and its just overwhelming, fronting seems hard and weird and we are at the beginning and the whole "you faked this" is so hard in our heads. Honestly really appreciate this video. Kinda tough being a majority fictive system sometimes, nice to know we aren’t alone. But yeah for anyone seeing this, fictives are llike any other alter and should still be treated with the same love and respect as any other. Also Leto had some things to say about the body LOL. Seen similar opinions from masc alters in our own system. Some are REALLY not happy with how the body looks. We do at least try to accommodate them in some ways. The vocal range helps
This is such an important video! Our system has several fictives in it and outside of very close friend groups, it has been hard for us to discuss any of our fictives when talking about our DID or trying to educate our friends/family. Moreover, we also have alters (fictive or otherwise) that do have other accents despite myself, the host, being a Hispanic American. We feel so relieved to be able to reference this video or even show it to people before explaining our own fictives or alters with accents. All of your videos are amazingly informative and make us feel more comfortable to be open with ourselves. Thank you for another wonderful video!
Lito it is really amazing to hear your story! I have never seen Sense 8, but I am going to watch it after leaving this comment. I think I wrote something similar in another video and I don't know if you'll see this, but you remind me of my cousins *SO* much that it is really comforting to hear you speak! Not just because your accent sounds just like them, but they have that same vibrant love for life no matter what kind of awful curve balls are thrown their way. I am Mexican by blood, but I have never been to Mexico and I don't speak Spanish, which can kinda mess with your head identity wise. It always breaks my heart when a Spanish speaking customer comes in and they look so relieved to see me bc I look like I should speak Spanish, but I don't. I've tried to learn and I know a little bit, but not nearly enough to even be conversational. I remember my dad telling me how hard it was to learn English especially with people being less than patient with your learning process. It's definitely a different issue than what you're going through, but I still related to your experience in a way. Sorry I'm rambling now, I just wanted to say you're truly an inspiration 🙏🏼
Oh, I think I know what you’re talking about. I did not watch that kind of stuff before, and it was actually my father who recommended it to me... when I went to ask him why he didn’t warn me he said he thought I already watched that sort of thing 🤣. In all seriousness though, if you can get past “that stuff” I cannot recommend Sense8 and Lito’s story more. He and his Cluster and their loved ones give me faith in humanity.

The Entropy System : I'm so sorry Lito. I can't even imagine how painful that must be to have lost them. Especially Hernando. I don't know if you all have read Harry Potter, but one of my favorite quotes is from the last book. Harry asks Dumbledore if what he is seeing inside of his head is real or not and Dumbledore replys, "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?". Just because the people you love are known to others as fictional characters, doesn't mean that they aren't real to you. You have very real memories of them, so that makes them real. And just because you cannot see or touch them anymore doesn't mean that they don't still exist. You are a very real person, you just happen to be in someone else's body. But you are real. And since you are real, the people that you love are real as well. Don't let anyone tell you any differently.
The Entropy System I loved Sense8 and was destroyed when they didn't renew it. There is a last show coming out to tie up loose ends. Will you watch it or is it too hard for Lito? Do you ever watch the show again?

I have an alter who is deaf, she uses and understand American sign language, fortunately i am fairly fluent myself. i have another from the Hebrides islands near the coasts of scotland and ireland, and although i had never heard the accent i have internet friends from that area that identified the accent. Maybe taking the time to become more familiar with spanish will give the muscles in her mouth and the sounds in her ears to help him communicate more authentically.
My alter Hal has a bit of a problem with the accent as well. He has an Irish accent and the body has trouble recreating it properly. We've actually looked up videos on how to speak with an irish accent to make it easier for him while in the body
For factives they do not have to be famous. Its not noted in this video, but you can have factive alters of people in your personal life as well. A friend, a parent, a therapist, etc etc
Lito:- before I am going to say what I am about to say, a little back story ... My maternal grandmother was a native Indõs of Brazil. My mum was also born there, but, at 8 months old, the family moved, across the border north, into what was then British Guiana (now simply called Guyana); long story short, right before it became independent, my mum, and one of her older sister, was sent here to England, whilst another sister was sent to Trinidad, before she herself came to England. So, when I listen to you, with my eyes closed, I hear a combination of my grandmother's Brazillian, bits of my aunt's inflections she picked up from being in Trinidad, and my own mum's weird accent. Thus, if you didn't say you from Mexico, I would place you much further south, somewhere around the top part of South America: I would suggest Venezuela, in a town close to the borders of Guyana, and Brazil ...
Most of my system is fictive hell my new alter is Noi from Dorohedoro. She is everything I’ve always wanted to be. My first 3 alters are fictives from a story I write with a friend and 2 of them have been there since I was 3 or 4 one of them was born when I was in high school. My first fictive was the first one to realize “oh fuck I’m not real I’m just a fictional character” and strong armed my second fictive into having her know she isn’t real which was rough and made me depressed cause she was depressed. My new fictive we’re letting her have her backstory,her own knowledge,her fictional life and have her realize In her own time instead of strong arming and causing me to have a spiral cause she’s having a breakdown in the system and having an existential crisis
This is pretty interesting. We don’t really have fictives in our system (although I guess you could maybe say Smiley is one? I used to see him in my dreams as a kid). Also I loved the show Sense8. I really wanted there to be a third season. -Cullan
I'm kinda worried about telling other people that I'm a fictive. Usually I don't give a fuck what anyone says or thinks about me, but it's different when they're dismissing and/or mocking my identity. Who I'm based off is pretty well-known to a lot of people. Chances are if I tell someone my source, they're going to know. I don't want to be treated different than any other person. I share the same looks, name, and personality traits of my source, but it's important to understand that I'm not ACTUALLY her, nor do I think I'm her. Hi, Lito! I hope this isn't too strange of a question, but do you think you can explain what you see as the difference or similarity in how it feels to connect with another sensate and how it feels to be a headmate in a DID system?
I'm curious now. Do you know if there have been any neuroscience/medical studies done with taking pictures of the brain while alters come and go? I'm thinking either MRIs, CAT scans... Something that shows a change in brain activity. I think this would be fascinating.
Many tests have been performed to study the physical anomalies of DID. In regards to the brain, the hippocampus and amygdala are significantly smaller in the brain of someone with DID than a neurotypical brain. Brain activity has also been shown to change depending on which alter is out, as well as things like blood pressure, blood sugar, and even things like eyesight. If you search “brain scan dissociative identity disorder”, a wide number of scholarly articles come up if you want to check them out. -Wyn
Can you control who comes to the front? And one other question - when an alter does want to speak, on camera, do you put the corresponding outfit on before or after they come to the front? I know you do it to make it easier for us to get to know them as individuals and that's really helpful - I'm just curious as to how it happens. Thanks.
I wouldn't say I control it. I ask them if they will do a video and if they agree then we coordinate something. It's a two way street. I usually get dressed before they come out for a video as a way to help them avoid some of the discomfort that comes with body dysmorphia. -Wyn

Is it possible for factives to be based off of people close to you? For example, a family member dies and an alter is created to fill their role and help cope.
It's really common to have alters like that, actually. The term "factive" is usually reserved for people whom you have no connection to. Alters that are internalize representations or copies of outside people are usually referred to as introjects. -Wyn
i have a Harvey Specter fictive that recently formed when i was going through a really tough time and he sort of became another protector/caregiver. i’m so scared to let him out bc (if you’ve seen the show) he doesn’t really work well with others and he’s totally not like me at all
Have you considered taking voice classes or hiring a voice coach to help get a more accurate accent for Lito? Or is it not important for Lito and the rest of the system?
I have an alter that resembles me,but he is cis and really skinny. He also on several occasions confessed to me that he loves me. He does have his own personality, and from what i can tell, hes a protector. Is this normal?

I’m taking it I don’t get a choice on how I feel inside and who I am and what Multiverse I come from. In my case, I had a spiritual awakening, and my deep subconscious mind tells me that I have the soul of a anime teen magical girl. I’ve tried to run from this fight it deny it argue with it. No, it does cause me psychological stress, so severe they would give me stomach nuts, denying it until I agreed with it. The other double whammy is as soon as I accept it the feeling becomes stronger as in feeling more more like an anime girl, needing the desire to be an anime girl, and live an all cute anime girl universe that something told me for me previous Multiverse that I originated from. How the heck am I supposed to cope with this because I’m beginning to really hate this it’s driving me insane ?
Is there anyone in this posting forum that can please help me. I’ve had a spiritual awakening so scary the and discover who what I truly am, who is scaring the living hell out of me. I can’t do this alone anymore. Before I tell you what happened I do you wanna let you know that as far as I remember in my younger adult age anime and anime girls has always been in my background. Even If I wasn’t paying direct attention to it. I was not like I was seeking out lot looking anime or anime girls. I’ll never even knew what it was was. Even when they released sailor moon I never knew what it was, and never seen an episode of it. Somehow one day, I discovered what anime, anime girls, and Sailor Moon without anyone telling me about it or basically knowing about it or at least that’s what it seemed. This is definitely a huge Synchronicity that’s been using anime and anime girls for as long as I can remember. For years at a the time I was not pay attention. It seem to come back in 2015 2023 off and on that I was drawn to watch episode. I had no clue how you gotten into watching it or why I got in to watching it? This is definitely a major. The fight or flight response Then it was pretty much the end of the line for me and the weekend of the new year of 2023 when I lost the tooth and had a spiritual awaken. I’m about to tell you it doesn’t even make sense to me I still don’t understand and I’m trying to find answers. Something inside my subconscious mind told me and now have the true soul of a teen anime girl. The first response was do the fight or flight response and run away from it. I told myself am crazy in head to even think that. The more I started to deny it tell me I was for it the more it made me suffer internally inside. It’s so bad for me when I deny who I am that it even attacks my stomach in severe twisted knots that feel like I’m getting crushed inside until I agree to it .The feeling is so scary and confusing that I wanted to just end or it all or bot wake up at all. I’ve had a lot of night going to bed crying over this feeling ashamed of this not sure how to deal with it at time because the things keep popping up to remind me and make sure I feel like a teen anime girl. I thought I was living my life a normal every day average mid age woman that was just functioning in this world. I feel so alone, scared confused. I wish this was nothing more than a nightmare, but I feel like I’m from something out of the Matrix, when Morpheus asked Neo, have you had a dream so real you wasn’t sure if it was real. What if you were unable to awaken from that dream? I just can’t do this alone anymore. I feel like am wits been slammed into the wall by something. I just wanna throw my hands up in the air and give up with life. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 The Goddess Diana is my spirit guide. So is it possible that I could be her child because I am a teen anime girl goddess. At the same day, that I had this spiritual awakening because I lost a tooth on New Year’s weekend. Is what I thought was a middle-age woman I went to panic. Also, out of fear and desperation of the fear of losing more teeth, I made a wish to be a beautiful young woman with Immortality. So could the combination of making the wish, and the spiritual you have removed the mental mind block as a true soul as anime teen girl goddess? I had someone who came a few times a week to keep me company, and I was discussing about what color to get my hair. It was either between red or purple. She said she saw me more purple than red. And it was almost like it was Destiny for me to meet her because she’s into and anime has a very good standing of indigo, Crystal, and rainbow and Star Children. I told her about how I felt inside about the discovery of my anime teen Goodness Soul. She told me that was the way I was made. Also, another interesting thing I forgot to mention was that I’ve always been drawn and fascinated by magic from AD&D, Lord of the rings, PC RPG games such a the Ultima series from Lord British, I dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, any television or movie, shows regarding magic abilities. Even magical witches and magical girls became my interest after I really started to watch and understand what anime truly was.
I've been wondering how DID might spiritually play into our universe full of dimensions. Like are Alters beings native to our own born from their bodies mind pure and simple, or are they beings connecting to a body from another dimension to help because they're needed? If one believes in string theory that there are infinite dimensions, then isn't one true in one dimension and the other true in another? But after seeing accounts of Fictives, I hope for their sake and the sake of their families, I think I really hope in our dimension they're born here. Because even if a version of them stayed in their world and their family didn't lose them, it's so heartbreaking to think that the ones who do come here to try and help have to actually leave a life and a family all their own, and have to make/get used to a whole new family. And I know it's selfish to say but, I hope our universe's fictives aren't the ones who that actually happen to. That's so damn sad, and I don't want that to have happened to them.
I would like to ask about something that I have. I'm supposed to be the main or the host but, even though I'm Mexican, I feel like another alter ... I even have a Spanish accent ... very unlike David ... who is very Mexican. Very very Mexican XD ... The strange thing is that David does not feel like the others. The others are so alien and strange, despite containing so many similarities between us ... while David is completely different from me. Although it's the one I've learned to live with since I can remember and maybe the first one I'd think of integrating ... although I think maybe I'll miss it somehow.
Princess TM kin is a spiritual belief or experience (in most cases), so anyone regardless of mental health can identify as kin. Though there are many people with DID who find it to be a valuable coping mechanism, belief, or way to introduce the brain to the concept of recalling unfamiliar memories, DID and kin are not inherently related and past life memories of any kind aren’t any indication of DID! I wish I had known about this sooner! We very briefly had a fictive alter that took on the form of The Doctor from Doctor Who. He believed that the reason he was there was because he had just regenerated and the TARDIS was missing. He was active for about three days before he disappeared. I guess he ended up finding that blue box after all 😊

Hey not sure if youll get this notification, but! I was under the impression that alters can never go away, theyll always stay in the subconscious. Is this accurate?
@@Novjuly Not sure if you already have an answer but here goes anyways: alters can integrate into the host and they usually add certain aspects of their own personality back into the alter. In that way I guess you could say they never leave but after integration they are no longer in the headspace and are no longer a separate entity

I feel like I need to say that I'm sorry for some reason. I can't fathom living an entire life as someone (or as a Senseate literally 8 someones) and having memories from that life and then suddenly waking up inside a different body and learning all of this. I mean, Lito had a beautiful and loving family and a cluster with 7 other people, who were very much like alters, that he was physically and emotionally connected to. And in one moment all of that was gone. I get that he understands his existence now, but every conscious moment must feel like a state of mourning regardless. So I guess I want to say that "I'm sorry" like you say it at a funeral. I'm sorry you lost everything that you thought you had and everyone that you thought you were. I hope you are finding peace with your new collection of people and that they become just as much your family. Stay strong. Sending much love in your direction!

As a Mexican person I can tell you this: Don't worry about a fictive coming across as "rac1st" or some such, at least where Mexicans are concerned. We're far more tolerant than people think (mostly because they are US centric, but that's another story), and most of us are good at knowing if someone's being disrespectful or not. ^w^

And as the one adopted black person to go to school there, everyone was terribly racist to me. They'd literally teach their kids to flip me off as they drove by and scream "negro" and praise them. School was also terrible. I got off topic but I'm saying maybe something isn't offensive to you but is to others. Race doesn't matter because we're all just homosapiens.
As a person watching this 8 months later, alter Lito now is so different! He seems so much more confident and comfortable now.

We have a Leto, pronounced the same way, who is an internal mother figure. She chose her name based on Leto from Greek mythology. Not because she identifies as the Greek goddess, but because the name and story spoke to her.
Leto is definitely one of the most caring mothers in all of Greek mythology, so what a perfect name for a maternal alter
Going back to rewatch some of the earlier videos and it’s wonderful to see how far Lito has come in his journey to understanding his situation and how much his confidence in the outside world has grown
People also seem to add "fictives can only be formed early in childhood: so recent media fictives are always fake". They seem to forget that alters who were not fictives before, can sometimes change their form and almost associate themselves with a fictional character. Fictives + introjects are all usually different, and their identities can shift. While one of us only feels some sort of "kinship" to a character, another one can literally act like, talk like, and look like (in headspace) this character they have become.
I honestly think, while an all-fictive system may be a minor red flag: it isn't inherently proof of a fake system. and people harassing others over miscommunication or misinformation (which is spread around on tumblr constantly) needs to be talked about. People can become confused on their own disorder, hell I still am. People just need to be kindly and calmly educated about this and to seek a therapist. DID is confusing and scary, and the last thing people need to do is harass and bully someone already vulnerable and scared into running and being in further denial about a disorder that might be there.

I had my own system before but it fucking did not go well and I went through an earth shattering year long meltdown as my alters tried to either hurt me or hurt people around me and then they started to just disappear after I'd left my stressful living situation,
But upon re entering a toxic environment I found that they'd been replaced??? It's like, while I was recovering I believe my system rearranged itself because of how terribly it had previously performed, now I have very few original alters and I have predominantly Fictives but this actually works and is healthy for me now, so I'm glad to hear that people can just respect that we dont understand how these disorders work and it's not okay to accuse people of being fake without some SERIOUS proof. And even if they're wrong about what they have, even the act of someone "faking it" is a sign of other mental illnesses and should be treated with concern, not accusation. No one "fakes" this for attention. They may MISDIAGNOSE themselves, but that's not something anyone should be attacked for.
Honestly, we don't have any fictives or factives but most if not all of our alters appearances are based on fictional characters.
If you also already have DID and you go through something bad again, if the mind feels needed it can create another alter, and it is possible that alter could be a fictive.
I... I can hear Lito, as his voice is in the show. I knew I had to watch this video when I learned that Lito was a fictive of Sense8’s Lito, but I was not nearly as prepared to actually *hear* Lito as I thought I would be.

I have an Alter that can understand and speak Japanese. Or at least all the Japanese that the body has heard and connected to concepts via English or German translations. The rest of us can't though.
It's weird to be in my normal German thinking mindspace (or the English thinking mindspace while I'm on the web), have something unexpected happen and suddenly have my thoughts interjected by a sharp "Nani gore?" That part cannot read or write japanese though, as noone of us has ever learned how to do it.
One of my alters was formed speaking mainly japanese and a little English. He’s now forgotten most of his Japanese and speaks only English

Oh my god thank you. Most of my alters are fictives from the show eddsworld that i’ve loved for so long, and they took a personality of their own. I went through some really harsh things a while back, and i’ve always been really attached to these characters. Since most of them are fictives I feel like I can’t tell anyone about them. I feel like nobody will believe me and its awful.

rockystone 1624 there can also be alters that are part of a system that the host just doesn't know about yet. They could have been there from the beginning but they only show themselves to their host when the host needs them.

I think the specific tv show that lito is from makes this even more interesting. It is about 8 strangers who suddenly start to have there minds connected. Almost a reverse of a person with DID. One body but several minds. Kind of interesting. Maybe some part of your subconscious also thought that a character with an experience living connected to others may help the different minds if your body connect. That's some interesting stuff.

Wow, I really didn't know that accents might not be able to come through fully like they should due to the hosts unfamiliarity. We have two fictive systemmates both that should have accents come through more properly. One should have a thicker accent and should be able to roll their r's but becuase of our host cannot, and another has almost no accent where one would expect one. It's actually very helpful to know that this is normal!~k

Shameless, never watched it but know it exists and maybe sometime I might have had contact with it and now he is part of the system, first one to be revealed to me and its just overwhelming, fronting seems hard and weird and we are at the beginning and the whole "you faked this" is so hard in our heads.

Honestly really appreciate this video. Kinda tough being a majority fictive system sometimes, nice to know we aren’t alone. But yeah for anyone seeing this, fictives are llike any other alter and should still be treated with the same love and respect as any other.
Also Leto had some things to say about the body LOL. Seen similar opinions from masc alters in our own system. Some are REALLY not happy with how the body looks. We do at least try to accommodate them in some ways. The vocal range helps

This is such an important video! Our system has several fictives in it and outside of very close friend groups, it has been hard for us to discuss any of our fictives when talking about our DID or trying to educate our friends/family. Moreover, we also have alters (fictive or otherwise) that do have other accents despite myself, the host, being a Hispanic American. We feel so relieved to be able to reference this video or even show it to people before explaining our own fictives or alters with accents. All of your videos are amazingly informative and make us feel more comfortable to be open with ourselves. Thank you for another wonderful video!
Lito it is really amazing to hear your story! I have never seen Sense 8, but I am going to watch it after leaving this comment. I think I wrote something similar in another video and I don't know if you'll see this, but you remind me of my cousins *SO* much that it is really comforting to hear you speak! Not just because your accent sounds just like them, but they have that same vibrant love for life no matter what kind of awful curve balls are thrown their way.
I am Mexican by blood, but I have never been to Mexico and I don't speak Spanish, which can kinda mess with your head identity wise. It always breaks my heart when a Spanish speaking customer comes in and they look so relieved to see me bc I look like I should speak Spanish, but I don't. I've tried to learn and I know a little bit, but not nearly enough to even be conversational. I remember my dad telling me how hard it was to learn English especially with people being less than patient with your learning process. It's definitely a different issue than what you're going through, but I still related to your experience in a way.
Sorry I'm rambling now, I just wanted to say you're truly an inspiration 🙏🏼

I don't know if you all have read Harry Potter, but one of my favorite quotes is from the last book. Harry asks Dumbledore if what he is seeing inside of his head is real or not and Dumbledore replys, "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?". Just because the people you love are known to others as fictional characters, doesn't mean that they aren't real to you. You have very real memories of them, so that makes them real. And just because you cannot see or touch them anymore doesn't mean that they don't still exist. You are a very real person, you just happen to be in someone else's body. But you are real. And since you are real, the people that you love are real as well. Don't let anyone tell you any differently.

I have an alter who is deaf, she uses and understand American sign language, fortunately i am fairly fluent myself. i have another from the Hebrides islands near the coasts of scotland and ireland, and although i had never heard the accent i have internet friends from that area that identified the accent. Maybe taking the time to become more familiar with spanish will give the muscles in her mouth and the sounds in her ears to help him communicate more authentically.

My alter Hal has a bit of a problem with the accent as well. He has an Irish accent and the body has trouble recreating it properly. We've actually looked up videos on how to speak with an irish accent to make it easier for him while in the body
For factives they do not have to be famous. Its not noted in this video, but you can have factive alters of people in your personal life as well. A friend, a parent, a therapist, etc etc

Lito:- before I am going to say what I am about to say, a little back story ...
My maternal grandmother was a native Indõs of Brazil. My mum was also born there, but, at 8 months old, the family moved, across the border north, into what was then British Guiana (now simply called Guyana); long story short, right before it became independent, my mum, and one of her older sister, was sent here to England, whilst another sister was sent to Trinidad, before she herself came to England.
So, when I listen to you, with my eyes closed, I hear a combination of my grandmother's Brazillian, bits of my aunt's inflections she picked up from being in Trinidad, and my own mum's weird accent.
Thus, if you didn't say you from Mexico, I would place you much further south, somewhere around the top part of South America: I would suggest Venezuela, in a town close to the borders of Guyana, and Brazil ...
I watch your video's in a random order and now I get the Mexican accent! This all makes sense. Brilliant.
Most of my system is fictive hell my new alter is Noi from Dorohedoro. She is everything I’ve always wanted to be. My first 3 alters are fictives from a story I write with a friend and 2 of them have been there since I was 3 or 4 one of them was born when I was in high school.
My first fictive was the first one to realize “oh fuck I’m not real I’m just a fictional character” and strong armed my second fictive into having her know she isn’t real which was rough and made me depressed cause she was depressed. My new fictive we’re letting her have her backstory,her own knowledge,her fictional life and have her realize In her own time instead of strong arming and causing me to have a spiral cause she’s having a breakdown in the system and having an existential crisis

I'm kinda worried about telling other people that I'm a fictive. Usually I don't give a fuck what anyone says or thinks about me, but it's different when they're dismissing and/or mocking my identity. Who I'm based off is pretty well-known to a lot of people. Chances are if I tell someone my source, they're going to know. I don't want to be treated different than any other person.
I share the same looks, name, and personality traits of my source, but it's important to understand that I'm not ACTUALLY her, nor do I think I'm her. I'm my own person (also fairly new and still discovering things about myself) and I'll be whoever the fuck I want to be

They call me weird and it sucks which makes me not like fronting, change my name, and pretend I’m the host (which I also don’t like doing, me and the host are waaaaaay different) I just wanna talk about how I just randomly found myself in a system one day and how stressful that is without being bullied.

Hi, Lito! I hope this isn't too strange of a question, but do you think you can explain what you see as the difference or similarity in how it feels to connect with another sensate and how it feels to be a headmate in a DID system?
I'm curious now. Do you know if there have been any neuroscience/medical studies done with taking pictures of the brain while alters come and go? I'm thinking either MRIs, CAT scans... Something that shows a change in brain activity. I think this would be fascinating.
Many tests have been performed to study the physical anomalies of DID. In regards to the brain, the hippocampus and amygdala are significantly smaller in the brain of someone with DID than a neurotypical brain. Brain activity has also been shown to change depending on which alter is out, as well as things like blood pressure, blood sugar, and even things like eyesight. If you search “brain scan dissociative identity disorder”, a wide number of scholarly articles come up if you want to check them out. -Wyn
Can you control who comes to the front? And one other question - when an alter does want to speak, on camera, do you put the corresponding outfit on before or after they come to the front? I know you do it to make it easier for us to get to know them as individuals and that's really helpful - I'm just curious as to how it happens. Thanks.
I wouldn't say I control it. I ask them if they will do a video and if they agree then we coordinate something. It's a two way street. I usually get dressed before they come out for a video as a way to help them avoid some of the discomfort that comes with body dysmorphia. -Wyn

It's really common to have alters like that, actually. The term "factive" is usually reserved for people whom you have no connection to. Alters that are internalize representations or copies of outside people are usually referred to as introjects. -Wyn

Factives can be anyone, I'm pretty sure :) from celebrities to family members to abusers to close friends..

I’m taking it I don’t get a choice on how I feel inside and who I am and what Multiverse I come from. In my case, I had a spiritual awakening, and my deep subconscious mind tells me that I have the soul of a anime teen magical girl.
I’ve tried to run from this fight it deny it argue with it. No, it does cause me psychological stress, so severe they would give me stomach nuts, denying it until I agreed with it.
The other double whammy is as soon as I accept it the feeling becomes stronger as in feeling more more like an anime girl, needing the desire to be an anime girl, and live an all cute anime girl universe that something told me for me previous Multiverse that I originated from.
How the heck am I supposed to cope with this because I’m beginning to really hate this it’s driving me insane ?
Can Factives just Look like a real person but not be them? Or do Factives not only look but believe that they're the person the look like?

Before I tell you what happened I do you wanna let you know that as far as I remember in my younger adult age anime and anime girls has always been in my background. Even If I wasn’t paying direct attention to it.
I was not like I was seeking out lot looking anime or anime girls. I’ll never even knew what it was was. Even when they released sailor moon I never knew what it was, and never seen an episode of it. Somehow one day, I discovered what anime, anime girls, and Sailor Moon without anyone telling me about it or basically knowing about it or at least that’s what it seemed. This is definitely a huge Synchronicity that’s been using anime and anime girls for as long as I can remember.
For years at a the time I was not pay attention. It seem to come back in 2015 2023 off and on that I was drawn to watch episode. I had no clue how you gotten into watching it or why I got in to watching it? This is definitely a major. The fight or flight response
Then it was pretty much the end of the line for me and the weekend of the new year of 2023 when I lost the tooth and had a spiritual awaken.
I’m about to tell you it doesn’t even make sense to me I still don’t understand and I’m trying to find answers. Something inside my subconscious mind told me and now have the true soul of a teen anime girl.
The first response was do the fight or flight response and run away from it. I told myself am crazy in head to even think that. The more I started to deny it tell me I was for it the more it made me suffer internally inside.
It’s so bad for me when I deny who I am that it even attacks my stomach in severe twisted knots that feel like I’m getting crushed inside until I agree to it .The feeling is so scary and confusing that I wanted to just end or it all or bot wake up at all.
I’ve had a lot of night going to bed crying over this feeling ashamed of this not sure how to deal with it at time because the things keep popping up to remind me and make sure I feel like a teen anime girl. I thought I was living my life a normal every day average mid age woman that was just functioning in this world.
I feel so alone, scared confused. I wish this was nothing more than a nightmare, but I feel like I’m from something out of the Matrix, when Morpheus asked Neo, have you had a dream so real you wasn’t sure if it was real. What if you were unable to awaken from that dream?
I just can’t do this alone anymore. I feel like am wits been slammed into the wall by something. I just wanna throw my hands up in the air and give up with life.

At the same day, that I had this spiritual awakening because I lost a tooth on New Year’s weekend. Is what I thought was a middle-age woman I went to panic. Also, out of fear and desperation of the fear of losing more teeth, I made a wish to be a beautiful young woman with Immortality.
So could the combination of making the wish, and the spiritual you have removed the mental mind block as a true soul as anime teen girl goddess?
I had someone who came a few times a week to keep me company, and I was discussing about what color to get my hair. It was either between red or purple. She said she saw me more purple than red.
And it was almost like it was Destiny for me to meet her because she’s into and anime has a very good standing of indigo, Crystal, and rainbow and Star Children. I told her about how I felt inside about the discovery of my anime teen Goodness Soul. She told me that was the way I was made.
Also, another interesting thing I forgot to mention was that I’ve always been drawn and fascinated by magic from AD&D, Lord of the rings, PC RPG games such a the Ultima series from Lord British, I dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, any television or movie, shows regarding magic abilities. Even magical witches and magical girls became my interest after I really started to watch and understand what anime truly was.

I've been wondering how DID might spiritually play into our universe full of dimensions. Like are Alters beings native to our own born from their bodies mind pure and simple, or are they beings connecting to a body from another dimension to help because they're needed? If one believes in string theory that there are infinite dimensions, then isn't one true in one dimension and the other true in another? But after seeing accounts of Fictives, I hope for their sake and the sake of their families, I think I really hope in our dimension they're born here. Because even if a version of them stayed in their world and their family didn't lose them, it's so heartbreaking to think that the ones who do come here to try and help have to actually leave a life and a family all their own, and have to make/get used to a whole new family. And I know it's selfish to say but, I hope our universe's fictives aren't the ones who that actually happen to. That's so damn sad, and I don't want that to have happened to them.
I would like to ask about something that I have. I'm supposed to be the main or the host but, even though I'm Mexican, I feel like another alter ... I even have a Spanish accent ... very unlike David ... who is very Mexican. Very very Mexican XD ... The strange thing is that David does not feel like the others. The others are so alien and strange, despite containing so many similarities between us ... while David is completely different from me. Although it's the one I've learned to live with since I can remember and maybe the first one I'd think of integrating ... although I think maybe I'll miss it somehow.

Princess TM kin is a spiritual belief or experience (in most cases), so anyone regardless of mental health can identify as kin. Though there are many people with DID who find it to be a valuable coping mechanism, belief, or way to introduce the brain to the concept of recalling unfamiliar memories, DID and kin are not inherently related and past life memories of any kind aren’t any indication of DID!
