Most subtle nethi adi dialogue:. Enaku kedacha athigaratha avanga pota picha nu nenachutu irunthen. ❤
In the second half tug of war, Rathinavelu played by Fahad Faasil made some very impressive moves. Being a power obsessed character, him asking forgiveness to the sangam by falling down on their feet was a strong character move. That move resulted in the villagers not allowing Maamannan & co to campaign in the villages. Going by the film rule - make your villain strong - I thought second half was set for some even more stronger and smarter move from Vadivelu or Udhay. But them just recording a video inside the house and winning the election was a major let down. That one forced dialogue by Rathnavelu sidekick "Enna na veetu kulla irundhey election eh mudichutaanga" was not working for me. The students who came in support and all is okay for one emotional beat. But they can't help win elections. They couldn't even protect their classrooms.
Now, Imagine there is a primary school that's located equal distance from these villages. Kids from all these villages study there. One classroom has fans and the other classroom does not have fans. The school teachers cunningly put the higher caste kids in the classrooms with fans and the lower caste kids in the classrooms without fans. As Maamannan and co are returning from their failed campaigning not knowing what to do next, the classroom with fans gets short circuited and a fire breaks out. Maamannan and Adhiveeran, along with their comrades enter the burning classroom to save not the lower caste but the higher caste kids. Seeing the smoke rising, people from all the villages come there. All the kids have been saved but sadly Maamannan dies. The villagers stand heartbroken and guilt ridden. The man who we did not even allow inside our village has now saved our kids from the burning fire. Now Maari can even bring the same "Name" politics. The higher caste people themselves now want to call Mannu as Maamannan. Udhay wins the election. Alternatively if only Vadivelu has to win the election, we can keep Maamanna alive but gravely injured. When he wakes up, he has already won the election. Can cut out all the vote counting and news channel inserts. Those are tiring commercial routes.
This is just a top of the head scenario. There are way better ways to go by. But the point I'm trying to make is, Filmmakers who are ideology oriented usually have good initial setups(first half). Because the conflicts they put on screen will always be a society's conflicts too. But the way they end the film, solve the conflicts and convey the right message in a strong emotional way is what makes the film stand out. My observation is that, Mari turned from a "Filmmaker with ideology" in the first half to "An ideoligist who makes film" in the second half. He refused to built a bridge.

And he would have some seenn.that the chief minister has some more ideas to win against himmmm.... And he told everything boldly. He would have made that people voting for money. First half is complete brillaince(acting,making,songs,bgm), 2nd half is predictable with some intriguing dialogue, songs placement was not accurate or the scene doesn't elevate the song which had emotions when u listen separately, nonetheless acting brialliance and terrific bgm made up the 2nd half watchable

In reference to Lal's scene, If you're aware of the dynamics of Kongu politics you could have realised the nature of the region that negates the powers of political executives including the CM irrespective of parties - A clarification comment not a glorifying one.
But kongu s don't have that much power compared to devar caste. Edapadi couldn't have lost if he had acquired complete devar votes. Again I'm not glorifying them. They are the only caste who can do honour killings and get away with it. That's how much power they have

You could still observe conflicts surfacing due to wages and opportunities in the latter cases whereas the former employs them and controls their life in spirit that includes consumption levels,education,health and many more. At least the massacres and riots gets published and the offenders are charged.

My opinion is. It wud have been better if there was scene in which vadivelu after winning the election is sitting in a chair and talking with fahad standing in front of vadivelu. Making fahad realize it's not the caste but its ones education or designation decides who shud stand or sit...

Moment appreciations in the movie as interval is top notch. Rathnavelu is doesn't care about caste actually only cares about power that shown by his father but he falling on the feet of association shows that he can go any extend to get the power. 1st half was so good 2nd half cliched. Naanum itha sonne enukku ARR bgm set agele, SaNa kitteye kuduthurukalam as Mari Selvaraj suggested nnu adikka varangge. 😂😂

Enna romba badicha scene. As a creator, andha imagine pannadu great. But for a sensitive person like mari selvaraj, just imagibe the mental trauma he must have undergone in imaging and making that scene.
If you look closely, this scene is also in other parts of the movie and in his other movies also. After fahad fasil hits the person who recorded the video, the guy did the same. In pariyerum perumal, in mandabam scene, pariyan did the same after the beating. I dont know whether this trauma happened in his life.
