She should have taken that black statue and clonked him upside the head with it while he was asleep and taken care of all of her problems. lol Laura, "Might as well be talking to the wall." LOL And then she has the paper and he finally sees IT. Finally!!!
Emma: I mean like if I was a naughty little girl. Charlie: Alright who's the guy? ROFL! And make up your mind Emma. Is he going to be proud of you or mad at you? :) Luke sees the ice princess in the paper! YAY! Man it was so soapy when Luke was at the Q's and he was holding onto the box that had the ice princess and then he left! :) Lila: Oh dear. He always picks the worst times to call. ROFL! Oh that's nice Lila! :)
All Edward had to do was to say he would make a big donation for the statue to Lila's charity and buy it outright but that would obviously take away the excitement for Luke and all.
Emma yelling out in frustration - "I donated that black thing Charlie.." ha.. Charlie (to Stella) - "Oh you know, that big hunk of.. uh uh I mean that really classy piece of sculpture.." lol..
I'm supposing that Gloria Monty "cut her teeth" earlier on with such madcap films as "The Philadelphia Story," and "and of course "It Happened One Night," and so you can see the pacing, the humor, misunderstandings, subplots, attention to detail - coming out in these entertaining scenes.. They were making history by elevating the level of soaps to this, and I don't even think they knew it at the time (the actors) First moment I had that was "Aha.." was when Luke quips in that room, "What a time they pick to shampoo the rug.." when he and Laura were waiting to reclaim the black book. I sat up and took notice, like "oh... they are interjecting witty humor instead of so much drama." Guess I was too distracted or whatever to notice some of the funnier comments from earlier months like "Is the guy in the alley coming too.." ha.
What a great realization and analysis on your part!!! What a show that was! I miss those two (and hope so much that they hooked up in their hey day and we’ll never know 🙏🥰) but lost interest when their kids grew up snd got cocky with their Dad (Luke) and Bobby became a snob and ugh... And the fact that only “AGES” later Laura mentions that she had a Cassadine son Nicholas?!?! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ but the other storylines were great... didn’t quite dig the old house and Laura practically becoming psychic... the greatest moments were magnificent and magical, those less enticing to me, were still great.
This is so strange but the first four times I watched this episode I never even caught that Charlie L wanted the statue back and never suspected him as the one who does "you know what" in a later episode. Maybe I fastforwarded the scenes with him and Emma in them is why I missed that point. I usually don't watch them together (except for the first time around) because they are yuck imo.
Emma is really starting to get on my nerves. Why am I thinking if the Cassadines knew they had the Ice Princess it would be goodbye Emma and Charlie Lutz? But at least I am getting to see all of this leading up to the big moment during the summer of '81 ... :-)

Bringing Up Baby springs to mind as an inspiration for Gloria Monty. That movie is insanely madcap.
