Great interview guys!! Loved everything that Mr. Mangini said, especially in regard to bringing on Sound Designers during the early stages of pre-prod. That is exactly what I'm doing in my Horror film in development - and not only with the sound designers, but the composers too, as I believe a preliminary involvement of these figures will be highly beneficial to the film.
Loved Dune and its sound effects, and I am so amazed of the movie, due to its cinematography and camera work, but also the acting side in the movie. It is such a shame that nova days its so hard to get proposed to do an internship in such companies. I sent loads of CVs and emails to several companies, but due to lack of portfolio - I could not get the chance. I just graduated from the university and therefore could not make it yet.

Maaan. I'm a graduated composer, and I've always wanted to study Sound Engineering also. But having this masters gifting us this tremendous amount of quality knowledge makes the idea of studying in a formal way not that necessary. What a great time to be alive
Did you learn what a noise floor ratio is or what the difference between microphone polar patterns means in this video? He just explained positions in a workplace.
