Actually the director said Ji yeong was originally a Male, but he realized that it's more emotional having a friendship and trust between woman, that's why he said he's very lucky bc he rlly found the perfect role for jiyeong and saebyok...

Their story was so painful and tragic because jiyeong's character was so unexpected. Everyone was just thinking about how to survive and we all knew that most of the main cast won't make it out alive at some point but who would've predicted that saebyeok would find someone she would trust and resonate with and vice versa. They spent the least time together compared to the other pairings and yet jiyeong willingly sacrificed her life so that saebyeok can move onto the next round.
yea, Honestly after what she went through and her surviving the cursed glass round, they kill her right after, i was kinda disappointed, it would've been better to keep her alive and live on making the sacrifices worth it, just my opinion tho

They both are just so pure sweet and innocent, Jiyeong literally sacrificed her life for Sae and she got murdered in the end. I wish they would have escaped this place with the money and they could live happily together.

ive watched this fricking 10 times and im still sobbingggg 😭
They were the focus for me, since they first spoke to each other. I was eager to get more interaction between them in every episode and i was quite happy when they teamed up to play. Episode six had the game with the worst rules ever, making people play against their dearest one in there. I'll never forgive whoever decided to create those scenes (Ali's death was so painful, but the only man just disappointed me at the end).

I've watched a ton of Netflix and all the rest and I am bound to watch a ton more of series of all genres for years to come. But it is going to be very hard to beat the Marbles Game in Squid Game for sheer dramatic power. It was so perfect in every way.
