    The adverb is also a cognate with the Akkadian / Old Babylonian _kīma,_ or so I'd say anyway. Just throwing it out there, as there never are too many cognates.

    I am very confused at the pronouncation of some Ge'ez letters especially ሰ and ሠ, ጸ and ፀ.

      Gəᶜəz ሰ corresponds to Arabic seen (س),
      while Gəᶜəz ሠ _used to_ correspond to Arabic (ش), but it lost the phoneme, hence Amharic curiously developing ሸ to approximate the latter.
      As for θ, from the Musnad script we know that corresponds to Arabic (ض), and I have a video on how that may have been pronounced in the past:
