      1/200 is amazing but too expensive for me😅

    I think I am set on 1:400. Of course I like big, and I do have several 1:200 models but they are just too big to collect regularly. The detail is awesome and amazing because they're bigger planes, but I have no room to display them. At least not till I can maybe get wall stands and mount them from there or even suspend them from the ceiling so they look like they are really flying. I am even running out of room for 1:400's but they are at least the largest hands-friendly models out there that still look highly highly realistic and are finely detailed. But they can be quite hard to find in some airlines. My gripe with the 1:500 scale is that while it's a scale I will definitely get, the landing gear just breaks too easily. And there for reason aren't any places that do repairs on diecast model planes. And of course 1:600 is just entirely too small to appreciate, period. 1:400 is that Goldilocks spot, just right. Not too big, not too small. I am so thankful for my collection since when I actually go to the airport to air-spot or catch a flight, when I see the planes, it is like I am looking at life-size versions of my model planes. :) The detail, precision, accuracy, and realism of Gemini, Phoenix, JC Wings is just unmatched. It makes me giddy when my planes look like shrunk down versions of the real things and not like toys. And of course, metal, like a real plane. No cheap plastic.

      I think 1:300 would be the real 'Goldilocks' scale, unfortunately no manufacturer has really tried it. Narrow bodies in 1:400 are just too toy-like whilst widebodies in 1:200 too big and heavy!

      @@777swed3 ^ I did forget about NG!! My bad!

    • @rominn2184
      @rominn2184 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlmichael5592 ^ Well, I have been collecting more widebodies than smaller planes. 1:300 is just not realistic since it is just not a widely used scale and any models are probably incredibly difficult to find. My interests are in finding models that are comfortable enough to hold in my hand but not too small that detail has to suffer. That is why right now, 1:400 is the perfect fit for me.

    I'm sorry for bothering you with such trivial question, not great with scale, I model and collect in 1/144 scale. how does a 1/200 scale compare size wise against the 1/144 scale does it look out of place? theses are 3D printed if that matters at all. thank you for your reply.
    respectfully,
