It was confirmed that the movie happens at the end of season 3 because season 3 was supposed to be the end of the show with the movie tying everything together but then it got renewed for the 4th and final season, that's why season 3 onwards uses the new theme song version shown in the movie at the beginning also that's why season 4 is also called Hannah Montana Forever instead of just Hannah Montana like seasons 1-3 and why it was shorter
Yes and no they planned to end at season 3 because at 4 seasons Disney was to legally pay all the main actors more so they ether end or change the name of the show to avoid it... There's a rant about it somewhere on TH-cam lost a LOT of good shows to this
Her 'double life" songs never bothered me because every celebrity pretty much lives a double life. Who they are on stage or in front of a camera isn't the same as who they are with their friends or family, regardless of how 'down to earth' and 'real' they seem. So when people heard her sing those songs that's probably what they were thinking not that she literally lives a different life as a teen named Miley Stewart.

That’s not necessarily a plot hole. Since Miley was underage, her money was probably kept in a trust fund. I know with many other famous child performers, they don’t have full access to their fortune until they turn 18. Many only get a regular allowance from their parents, just like other kids.
Because she wants to lead a normal life. Why do you think they get allowances and the only time Miley got a LOT more money was in the You Never Give Me My Money episode when she got $5,000.

The thing with the wig actually works. When I wore a wig to school my teacher literally did not recognize me and asked what I was doing there. I also wear wigs out in public whenever I don't want to be recognized. A wig can do wonders.
Last year my daughter got a drastic haircut. The strange thing was that, when her hair was waist-length, it was very fine; but when she got it cut to her chin, it became thick. Her first day at school after the cut, most of her friends didn't recognize her. Heck, there were a few times I'd be looking for her in a crowded room and wouldn't recognize her!

In the second episode after Miley reveals her secret to the world, Rico goes into a mental lock as he tries to understand how he, like everyone else, despite how much he prides himself on being a genius, couldn't see Miley and Hannah were one in the same. This show seems to heavily rely on the classic *Paper Thin Disguise* trope where a character’s disguise is *intended to be painfully obvious to the audience* but manages to completely fool the other characters in the plot. This trope is done to immediately clue the audience in on who the disguised character truly is so that the audience can follow the plot more clearly. Think That’s so Raven’s disguises as another example.
Or Team Rocket's on Pokémon, especially in the episode Battle Aboard the S.S. Anne where all they did was put on fake tans and dye their hair, keeping the same style (where Jessie's hair is extremely recognizable due to how she styles it)
I even remember as a kid on the Life of Zack and Cody crossover, Miley said vanilla was her favorite cake and/or flavor. Then on the episode where she wished she was Hannah all the time, the Chef said he made her favorite cake, Triple-Fudge Chocolate. Also, of course Hannah would be living a double life. That was no secret. It's just the "who is she" part that was the secret. The double life songs are just a matter of course.

Honestly, I kind of wish Travis's storyline had continued into the main series. I love Miley with Jesse, but I think Travis would be the best guy for her.
Miley doesn"t change just her hair as Hannah, it's the whole wardrobe. some people don't always look at the face when talking to the person, and a completely different hair colour and style will throw them off completely. sometimes even people you do know personally will look unrecognizable at some point just because they suddenly changed their look, and no, putting on glasses and combing your hair does not constitute a "whole new look". to explain the inconsistent talents of Lily and Oliver, a lot can happen behind the scenes. just one season can cover a year's timeline in 20 or so episodes. sure some episodes take place over several days, but even then, there's still a lot that happens in between that is not seen on screen. Lily and Oliver could've easily started taking serious singing lessons whenever there was a time jump in the season. Also, beginner singers can sound tone-deaf, but if they start lessons, they can work on it. only truly tone-deaf singers will still sound tone-deaf after having several lessons. As for Billy Ray's cover: in the beginning of the series it was stated that Robbie Ray is a has-been. his career took off 20yrs ago, but has sharply declined soon after. so nobody is gonna care about his personal life, since his only fans haven't even listened to his albums in years. plus as a country singer, he doesn't really have much of an audience in Malibu. LA is dominated by pop-singers and actors, a country singer from yesteryear is hardly gonna make a blip on the radar for paparazzi. that began to change as he started appearing more alongside Hannah, but Miley's schoolmates still won't recognize him, because he's simply not part of their generation, plus it's pretty much guaranteed that most of them aren't watching Hannah's every move all the time, so it's not guaranteed that they'll actually notice it's him. like he introduced Hannah when she won the Silver Booty Award, but afterwards, besides Miley's friends and family, none of Miley's schoolmates actually mentioned Hannah winning the award, showing that they either didn't care about it or they were unaware of it. like i'm a Miley superfan, but even i don't know about all of her awards without googling it and i definitely don't pay attention to her entourage. As for the double-life, though it's become more of a thing in recent years, some celebrity singers prefer to keep their personal lives and their professional lives separate. Beyonce adopted the alter ego Sasha Fierce, because she stated that she is a very shy person in real life, but when she's on stage, she's this warrior queen. some of these celebs are so good at keeping their professional and personal lives apart, it's become normal for them to feel disconnected from the Other Side whenever their not on stage. Like so many singers would state: when i'm on stage, i'm the legend, the entertainer, but when i'm at home, i'm the mom/dad or irritating younger sibling, etc.

Disney Channel in their prime. It wasn't just corny sitcoms all the time, they had game shows (Disney Channel Games, Win Lose or Draw), great original movies, shows that appealed to all members of the family (Andi Mack, Good Luck Charlie) and were just as popular as their animated shows or adult shows on other networks, inspirational promos where the actors talk about mature topics, Disney 411/365(what happened to that), Mike's Super Short Show/Leo Little's Big Show, the list goes on. Regardless of whether Disney Channel is good right now or not (Raven's Home, Sydney To The Max and the animated shows are the only ongoing shows I care about), they were SO MUCH BETTER during the 2000s and early 10s.

miley only got into college after revealing the hannah secret, she didn’t have the credentials to be accepted to stanford otherwise. and there are multiple episodes where she struggles keeping up with class and her pop star life (ie the bone dance ep).
I can get past all of the plot holes. Except the movie one. Miley's relationship with the guy was so very well developted, as well as with her grandmother and the rest of the family, and yet it was never mentioned again. The show picked up, and all was forgotten. Honestly, that was a bit disrespectful. The movie was so big, succesful and overall very emotional, and they made it look like Hannah Montana from another universe, with nothing to do with the show.

The sleepwalker plot hole wasn't really a plot hole IMO. She was stressed and anxious about lying to her dad because she loved and respected his song writing. It wasn't about simply lying, it was about lying to her dad.

Here's something that always bothered me about the movie. During the final concert in Crowley Corners how is it POSSIBLE that only the mean reporter was the ONLY person with a cellphone to take a picture of Hannah/Miley? Sure, it was 2009 and iPhones/smartphones hadn't been invented yet, but most people had cellphones (now we call them dumb phones) that could take pictures, if not be able to access the internet with them?
the iphone-which popularized smartphones-was released in 2007. even though smartphones didn't surpass feature phones until 2013, you're right that somebody could've easily taken a photo, albeit a crappy one lol
I used to be a massive HM fan and it made no sense to me that a wig is her only way of not being recognized. Also, when she speaks normally on stage no one at her school recognized her voice, especially when Amber got to perform with her in the episode "The idol side of me"
In the sleepwalking episode Rico even recognizes her singing voice and brings it up saying it sounded like Hannah Montana yet when they say no he just shrugs it off and never brings it up again.

Lies is something that you say when your parents say that you did this and you say you didn't even tho you did. That's a lie. Secret has it's good reason to stay a secret. In mileys case, she did not sleepwalk when she's keeping the Hannah secret bc the Hannah secret is very important for her to keep bc it can change everything in her life. "Double life" doesn't automatically mean she's saying "Oh, by the way, my name is really Miley Stewart, I live in Malibu and have a secret identity." I just see the "double life" thing as her just saying that she's still a regular girl, so it's not like she went into details of who exactly she was UNTIL the end of the show.
I think the movie is after season 1 and before season 2 ! Because at a moment Hannah's talking bad about her brother Jackson in an interview and then Jackson is really pissed, and Hannah is saying him, calm down nobody know that you're my brother, and he say, yeah except crowley corner's people ! Its like Gilligan's Island, you turn your brain off to enjoy a show like this and that's okay. But yeah, I can understand why people hate this show. It was like the Frozen of its' time: a female led Disney franchise that became more and more popular as time went on with movies and merchandise, rerunning the show every chance it got and songs that their demographic would play religiously that made adults hate the franchise regardless of its quality.
First off, how can a show/role model who teaches kids to follow their dreams and be who they are be annoying to the public and second, maybe, but unlike Frozen it never got old so quickly. I'm in my twenties and I still love this show.

In a way, Hannah Montana was a continuation of Lizzie McGuire. At the end of the movie, Lizzie becomes a rock star. Miley was originally told she was too young, but she persisted and got the part. Actually, I feel sorry for Miley. By the time she was 18 she had a 9 figure bank account, a hit movie, a hit TV show, and multiple hit records. There are people that spend a lifetime in pursuit of just one of those goals. So, what is next for Miley? She wakes up every morning asking that question.

Of the six kids on that show only one continued to act, but she goes from audition to audition to audition-nothing is guaranteed. I heard a statistic about 30 years ago that there are 100,000 unemployed actors in the Los Angeles area. It's a fickle market. In music, the money is actually in songwriting. I heard an interview from a musician who is part of the famous rock group The Eagles. He is the only one who isn't a songwriter. So, he drives a 5 year old car-his wife has a 9-5 job and he takes gigs wherever he can find them just to pay the bills. As someone who was in a rock band in college, performing in front of an audience is an incredible high. To quote Tom Clancy, it's "liquid heroin." Celebs, once their gig is over, it becomes a challenge. I am hoping to start a film production company next year. I would like to hire Miley for a movie that I have written but I wouldn't be able to begin to afford her fee. I dream that she will donate her time.

i binged the entire series again the moment disney+ launched (in just 6 days haha) and just recently rewatched the movie. my theory is that the movie takes place when miley/hannah was filming her movie indiana joannie. the season 3 episode "what i don't like about you" was the first episode aired after the movie's release and it takes place when miley returns from filming this said movie and finds out oliver and lilly are dating. but ya, the movie *always* bugged me. she has a publicist in the movie, but not in the show? why is there no mention of lorelei and travis ever again? so many questions

It was confirmed that the movie happens at the end of season 3 because season 3 was supposed to be the end of the show with the movie tying everything together but then it got renewed for the 4th and final season, that's why season 3 onwards uses the new theme song version shown in the movie at the beginning also that's why season 4 is also called Hannah Montana Forever instead of just Hannah Montana like seasons 1-3 and why it was shorter

Her 'double life" songs never bothered me because every celebrity pretty much lives a double life. Who they are on stage or in front of a camera isn't the same as who they are with their friends or family, regardless of how 'down to earth' and 'real' they seem. So when people heard her sing those songs that's probably what they were thinking not that she literally lives a different life as a teen named Miley Stewart.

That’s not necessarily a plot hole. Since Miley was underage, her money was probably kept in a trust fund. I know with many other famous child performers, they don’t have full access to their fortune until they turn 18. Many only get a regular allowance from their parents, just like other kids.
Because she wants to lead a normal life. Why do you think they get allowances and the only time Miley got a LOT more money was in the You Never Give Me My Money episode when she got $5,000.

The thing with the wig actually works. When I wore a wig to school my teacher literally did not recognize me and asked what I was doing there. I also wear wigs out in public whenever I don't want to be recognized. A wig can do wonders.

This show seems to heavily rely on the classic *Paper Thin Disguise* trope where a character’s disguise is *intended to be painfully obvious to the audience* but manages to completely fool the other characters in the plot.
This trope is done to immediately clue the audience in on who the disguised character truly is so that the audience can follow the plot more clearly.
Think That’s so Raven’s disguises as another example.
Or Team Rocket's on Pokémon, especially in the episode Battle Aboard the S.S. Anne where all they did was put on fake tans and dye their hair, keeping the same style (where Jessie's hair is extremely recognizable due to how she styles it)

Honestly, I kind of wish Travis's storyline had continued into the main series. I love Miley with Jesse, but I think Travis would be the best guy for her.
Miley doesn"t change just her hair as Hannah, it's the whole wardrobe. some people don't always look at the face when talking to the person, and a completely different hair colour and style will throw them off completely. sometimes even people you do know personally will look unrecognizable at some point just because they suddenly changed their look, and no, putting on glasses and combing your hair does not constitute a "whole new look". to explain the inconsistent talents of Lily and Oliver, a lot can happen behind the scenes. just one season can cover a year's timeline in 20 or so episodes. sure some episodes take place over several days, but even then, there's still a lot that happens in between that is not seen on screen. Lily and Oliver could've easily started taking serious singing lessons whenever there was a time jump in the season. Also, beginner singers can sound tone-deaf, but if they start lessons, they can work on it. only truly tone-deaf singers will still sound tone-deaf after having several lessons. As for Billy Ray's cover: in the beginning of the series it was stated that Robbie Ray is a has-been. his career took off 20yrs ago, but has sharply declined soon after. so nobody is gonna care about his personal life, since his only fans haven't even listened to his albums in years. plus as a country singer, he doesn't really have much of an audience in Malibu. LA is dominated by pop-singers and actors, a country singer from yesteryear is hardly gonna make a blip on the radar for paparazzi. that began to change as he started appearing more alongside Hannah, but Miley's schoolmates still won't recognize him, because he's simply not part of their generation, plus it's pretty much guaranteed that most of them aren't watching Hannah's every move all the time, so it's not guaranteed that they'll actually notice it's him. like he introduced Hannah when she won the Silver Booty Award, but afterwards, besides Miley's friends and family, none of Miley's schoolmates actually mentioned Hannah winning the award, showing that they either didn't care about it or they were unaware of it. like i'm a Miley superfan, but even i don't know about all of her awards without googling it and i definitely don't pay attention to her entourage. As for the double-life, though it's become more of a thing in recent years, some celebrity singers prefer to keep their personal lives and their professional lives separate. Beyonce adopted the alter ego Sasha Fierce, because she stated that she is a very shy person in real life, but when she's on stage, she's this warrior queen. some of these celebs are so good at keeping their professional and personal lives apart, it's become normal for them to feel disconnected from the Other Side whenever their not on stage. Like so many singers would state: when i'm on stage, i'm the legend, the entertainer, but when i'm at home, i'm the mom/dad or irritating younger sibling, etc.

It wasn't just corny sitcoms all the time, they had game shows (Disney Channel Games, Win Lose or Draw), great original movies, shows that appealed to all members of the family (Andi Mack, Good Luck Charlie) and were just as popular as their animated shows or adult shows on other networks, inspirational promos where the actors talk about mature topics, Disney 411/365(what happened to that), Mike's Super Short Show/Leo Little's Big Show, the list goes on. Regardless of whether Disney Channel is good right now or not (Raven's Home, Sydney To The Max and the animated shows are the only ongoing shows I care about), they were SO MUCH BETTER during the 2000s and early 10s.

I can get past all of the plot holes. Except the movie one. Miley's relationship with the guy was so very well developted, as well as with her grandmother and the rest of the family, and yet it was never mentioned again. The show picked up, and all was forgotten. Honestly, that was a bit disrespectful. The movie was so big, succesful and overall very emotional, and they made it look like Hannah Montana from another universe, with nothing to do with the show.

The sleepwalker plot hole wasn't really a plot hole IMO. She was stressed and anxious about lying to her dad because she loved and respected his song writing. It wasn't about simply lying, it was about lying to her dad.

Here's something that always bothered me about the movie. During the final concert in Crowley Corners how is it POSSIBLE that only the mean reporter was the ONLY person with a cellphone to take a picture of Hannah/Miley? Sure, it was 2009 and iPhones/smartphones hadn't been invented yet, but most people had cellphones (now we call them dumb phones) that could take pictures, if not be able to access the internet with them?

Lies is something that you say when your parents say that you did this and you say you didn't even tho you did. That's a lie. Secret has it's good reason to stay a secret. In mileys case, she did not sleepwalk when she's keeping the Hannah secret bc the Hannah secret is very important for her to keep bc it can change everything in her life. "Double life" doesn't automatically mean she's saying "Oh, by the way, my name is really Miley Stewart, I live in Malibu and have a secret identity." I think the movie is after season 1 and before season 2 ! Because at a moment Hannah's talking bad about her brother Jackson in an interview and then Jackson is really pissed, and Hannah is saying him, calm down nobody know that you're my brother, and he say, yeah except crowley corner's people ! Kind of, so it's between season 1 and two i think :3

Its like Gilligan's Island, you turn your brain off to enjoy a show like this and that's okay. But yeah, I can understand why people hate this show. It was like the Frozen of its' time: a female led Disney franchise that became more and more popular as time went on with movies and merchandise, rerunning the show every chance it got and songs that their demographic would play religiously that made adults hate the franchise regardless of its quality.
First off, how can a show/role model who teaches kids to follow their dreams and be who they are be annoying to the public and second, maybe, but unlike Frozen it never got old so quickly. I'm in my twenties and I still love this show.

For number one it sort of make sense. I've seen all Hannah Montana episode and I just notice miley and Robbie are rarely seen in public with each other. Most of the time, I only see them as miley and Robbie mostly at their house
In a way, Hannah Montana was a continuation of Lizzie McGuire. At the end of the movie, Lizzie becomes a rock star. Miley was originally told she was too young, but she persisted and got the part.
Actually, I feel sorry for Miley. By the time she was 18 she had a 9 figure bank account, a hit movie, a hit TV show, and multiple hit records. There are people that spend a lifetime in pursuit of just one of those goals. So, what is next for Miley? She wakes up every morning asking that question.

that's what happens to so many child stars. they peak professionally so early in life when the average person their age has not even started working

Look at the TV show Step by Step. Of the six kids on that show only one continued to act, but she goes from audition to audition to audition-nothing is guaranteed. Another of those kids had her bank account looted by her parents so she now is employed to help child actors not fall into that.
I heard a statistic about 30 years ago that there are 100,000 unemployed actors in the Los Angeles area. It's a fickle market.
In music, the money is actually in songwriting. I heard an interview from a musician who is part of the famous rock group The Eagles. He is the only one who isn't a songwriter. So, he drives a 5 year old car-his wife has a 9-5 job and he takes gigs wherever he can find them just to pay the bills.
As someone who was in a rock band in college, performing in front of an audience is an incredible high. To quote Tom Clancy, it's "liquid heroin." Celebs, once their gig is over, it becomes a challenge.
I am hoping to start a film production company next year. I would like to hire Miley for a movie that I have written but I wouldn't be able to begin to afford her fee. I dream that she will donate her time.

The wig has secretly been enchanted to have mind controlling the spell. The fairy godmother puts on Cinderella to make sure nobody actually recognizes her. That's my head can is like someone's secretly. Put that spell on it. Like basically, my Head cannon is that they're secretly working with the government in the show. And they're using magic and that's why nobody finds out about it and nobody mentions mattered because they're supposed to be keeping the existence of magic a secret kind of like in the real world.
Hannah Montana uses the same phone number as herself Miley as shown in episode 1 when Lily called her phone. Why doesn't she have different phone numbers and doesn't she get spammed by celebrities on her smartphone?

The Hannah movie also contradicts the episode where Miley wished to be Hannah all the time.
She gets her wish, in one episode Miley Stuart doesn't exist so she's Hannah all the time and she hates it. Heck she puts on a wig and pretends to be Miley Stuart so she could try and have a normal life but it doesn't work. This also an episode that comes way before the movie.

I'm a cosplayer and I assure you that wigs can change your face. xD Someone once told me "OMG are you really YOU? I didn't recognize you!" so it's not a big plot-hole. Regarding others... Yes, but I'm deeply in love with the series. ♥

i binged the entire series again the moment disney+ launched (in just 6 days haha) and just recently rewatched the movie. my theory is that the movie takes place when miley/hannah was filming her movie indiana joannie. the season 3 episode "what i don't like about you" was the first episode aired after the movie's release and it takes place when miley returns from filming this said movie and finds out oliver and lilly are dating.
but ya, the movie *always* bugged me. she has a publicist in the movie, but not in the show? why is there no mention of lorelei and travis ever again? so many questions

cool dude my idea (weird but I think true) is she went on a singing competition show as Hannah so if she did terrible, she wouldn’t be embarrassed during her regular life. Turns out, she got pretty big. That would explain why no one (her record label) knew that she was Miley
