"They stuck two steel rods in my brain."
A reference to full frontal lobotomy. A barbarian way to make the patient docile. The doctors entered through the inner corner over the eyeball, broke through the skull, and physically removed the connection inside the patient's brain, making them unable to access/use the frontal lobe.
Lovely bit of acting from Paint with the droopy eye. That was a very common physical symptom of having had that "operation".

for Mulan the story originated from a poem th-cam.com/video/MxxJ_iFsHqA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=WooKong this has a good break down of the differences

Is it useless dudes or useless tubes? I always thought he was talking about his Fallopian tubes. As a transman myself, I can agree with both versions of that line.

If you use the subtitles it says useless tubes, as in Fallopian tubes. I hadn't caught that difference until seeing the lyrics more recently.

Good reaction but I wish you would have paused it way less, maybe let a few lines go by before providing your commentary on them instead of sentence by sentence
