Nice to see Providence getting some recognition. I can’t recommend the Providence Red Rock OD any higher. It’s been on my board for close to 10 years and I’m always am happy when I come back to it.
Thanks Justin for the shout out and covering the request! One follow up question, does John primarily use a quarter note subdivision on the Chrono or does he ever use the other subdivisions? In your examples it sounds like he typically adjusts the tempo of a quarter note delay. Thanks again!
Hey Justin, love you videos ever since I came across them a couple weeks ago. What would be your recommendation for pedal that functions similarly to a chrono delay for around $200 and under? Keep in mind that it would be working in tandem with another pedal set for slapjack delay. Thanks for sharing all your great insight on gear and keep doing what your doing.
I’d look into TRex Replay Box! It’s what John was using before the Chrono and is still a really great delay, and gently used examples can go for pretty affordable prices
@@JustinJeske Thanks Justin! Just for clarification, do you mean the T rex replay box or the t rex replica delay because I know John has used both? Thanks again and I love this series on when John actually uses the pedals.
You could honestly use either, the Replica is a bit more expensive but that would do a great job covering the Delay 80’s sound too as the repeats are darker and have more of that characteristic. The Replay Box he used in 2019 in the same exact spot the Chrono eventually took over. Either option is great!
Thanks Justin for such a fun review and for the amazing Chanel. I hope you see my comment. I saw in this specific video that john mayer does a lot of tap dancing with the sobrock tour. Does he use a looper(pedal switcher) at all? I mean it could help him a lot. Or it compromised the sound he wants? Thank you so much
Can you do a video on the gear he used for the performance with Jacob collier and Lizzy McAlpine? It some of my favorite tone from him. Also I think he might be using a fender amp and not a Dumble!!!!
Hi Justin, do you not play guitar on video anymore? I saw one of your John Frusciante tone video while back and I remembered u had some great tone, but I just couldnt find it anymore on your channel.
I don’t know so much about guitar pedals and why one is better than the other. Could you help me to understand why John uses the Aqua Puss pedal and this one in the video? Aren’t both delay pedals?
No hating but why have J Mayer’s pedalboard if you are not gonna show some tone. You don’t have to play note for note. Just something that shows the context of the video.
The best part is the video call during the show around 4:08
Goodness! Anyone catch what he did at 6:53? Hits the low E then right to the harmonics on the 12th then 17th. Just like it was no big deal🤯
That was smooth as fuck
It’s one of my fave Slow Dancing solo’s I’ve seen in a while!
Show us more how and when john uses his pedals! loving these!

Love these types of videos bro.
Mine gets here today!! I’m excited
Just watched your aqua puss video and saw someone requested a providence chrono delay pedal video just 4 days ago, great response time man
Great! Always wondered what the Chrono Delay was doing!
Yesss
Can you show us how mayer used his mesa flux pedal?
Ditto. I've had one for a yeard. Think he stole the idea from me. lol
Please do a video on John Frusciante's guitars again..been wondering about that beautiful white strat too

Any settings recommendations for this?

is he using it in the loop or straight to the input?
So does he wire all his pedal just in/out and no switcher? Any idea if the entire pedal board is in front of the amp?
I tried it and didn’t care for it I prefer the strymon delays for that sort of stuff but totally get why he’d use it
Disappointed you didn't play the pedal in the video.
yeah just showing how is like the general sound of the pedal would be nice, no need to show off jm inspired chops 😉
