No dude you did such a good job! I’d prob say I’m about the same level! Didn’t have quite the same voicing on the chords, but close enough to where I made it work! The chorus I saw in videos of Shawn playing and in the music video, it’s where he switches up the chord style he’s playing. So that’s the part I need to figure out next 😭
Great job brother. The weird chord you talked about is basically D on bass A and C on bass G. The G you played I got no idea what it's called but it's probably just a variant of the barre G major. basically, the chords are like this: [ when I type / it means the bass of the note inside, which is the regular chord + the bass string on the fret of which root note is written, so, for example, D/A is the chord D with your thumb covering the root note of A which is on fret 5 and string E] Verse: (play it by humming the strings to sound like in the original) Em - D/F# - G x2 (Opened up my journal to a page Everything that hurts me’s still the same) Em - D/G - C/G x1 (Feels like there’s nothing new for me to say) C/G - D/A - G x1 (Why, Why, Why) C/G - G - C x1 (Why, Why, Why) [try to stroke only the upper strings in this section] The same goes again. Chorus: C - G - D/A - EM [through the whole first chorus] Em - G - D - C [throughout the next choruses] Bridge: C/G - G - D/A [here you probably can play it using the regular chord or with the bass added] and that's basically it. if you really want to play it easily, just play it in chords without the whole bass thing, it is much easier and to be honest sounds rather fine most of the time. Hope it sorts things out for anyone who might have gotten lost haha.
we got the song tutorial before it is even released 😭😭 best fan fr
