Oh maaan, the rollercoaster video has gone now. I loved going back to that for a laugh,Sean please keep your vids as that’ll grow the channel. Especially ones like that,Gday
Wow mate, recently left diamond resort and frequently chatted to the couple of security blokes there, he must have got hit the day we left! Foreigners need a wake up with the bikes over there. As a person who has ridden bikes my whole life it’s still a shock to the system with the traffic and way they drive so for all the foreigners if you don’t have a heap of experience on a bike don’t get on one!!
Crazy how many tourists think being on holiday is the only insurance they need and the only thing they need to think about. Top vloggin my man. Hope Ursula was back at yours stockin yer fridge up.
Great Vlog today Sean ,very informative about road safety ,it sad there are so many deaths due to people not being safety concerned or are unable to drive properly, but well done trying to find out buddy ,and really sad that fellow was killed doing his job helping people cross the road ,take care stay safe buddy and enjoy your LEO at the Pond 555, PS I made a comment to one of your Subs as he thinks🤔🤔we are Perv’s because you and myself spoke about lady’s rear Lol hope this didn’t offend you Sean ???
Good to see you getting that message across, nobody should be dying on a paradise island 🏝 no, they really shouldn't....let's hope that thumbnail picture for this vlog will draw in plenty of attention to get travellers aware of the dangers pal, well done 👍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Good dayyyy buddy. Once again great information of your heading into Thailand. But them numbers are shocking. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy a good ride. But them Number almost put you off. Well 8pints and a moped is just scary. Great vlog mate and I was hoping for at least one peach in the vlog haha. Cheers buddy. Keep them coming. 🍻🍻🍻🍻👍🏼
Great vlog mate, good information. Before I come out to Thailand I got my international driving licence. What I didn't know is that I'd only be insured for a 50cc bike, after a bit of research when I was in Phuket I just decided to leave getting a bike to avoid any risk. If you're from the UK you'll only be insured to ride a 50cc if you just have a standard full UK driving licence and no bike licence. This is just my experience and I could be wrong. Luckily I'd made some good friends in Phuket who had me on the back of their bikes and were really safe riders. If you're planning to head out to Thailand and want to get on a bike, as Sean says. Do you research, make sure you're legally allowed to ride, wear a bash hat and don't drink.
Not sure if it still holds true but the Thai Authorities were ashamed at the amount of deaths arising from Traffic Incidents so decided that only those dead at the scene would count in that total. If you died in an ambulance, hospital or soon after from the effects, it was not deemed a traffic accident death. (The Bangkok Post used to run a daily death toll around Xmas to New Year-ish and it was a gruesome amount.)
I'M WELSH!! Awesome vlog Sean. Very interesting information as usual. When I final get to Thailand I wont be riding any scooters because I will be one of those statistics, everytime I walk down the stairs I say to myself is today the day? haha Have a great day bud
Timely and informative stuff Sean, it’s a fact that should you be involved in an “event” riding a scooter or motorcycle you’re assuming that you are covered by insurance. Many of us take out a policy specifically overseas for that reason. However, if you fail to wear a lid, don’t have an international permit or have Group A on your U.K. drivers license… You are not riding in accordance with your license. You can confidently expect your insurance company will refuse to consider any claim if that was the case. The joy of that fabulous place, in particular Phuket and Koh Samui on a bike and the open road is almost irresistible. Drink driving in Eastern Europe in particular is endemic, add in the recent ready availability of blow and the result is carnage. Is a life changing injury or losing your life worth it.? Consider if you will your loved one’s back home, add in all kinds of complications and unexpected expense to potentially repatriate you or your remains. Loving you stuff as always mucker.
Spent 24 hrs in Bangkok Phuket hospital January 15th last year and returned every day for a week after being bit by a barracuda on Kamala beach, but back there this week and swimming again 🤣🤣
He's got the crash hat at the ready. Maybe the next visit will be as a War Correspondent in Ukraine putting Christiane Amanpour out of a job. Exciting times ahead with Mr King. Love his work 🤩
Good advice to rent a smaller bike. The Yamaha XMax (300cc) is double the weight (and cost) of the NMax (155cc/127kg) which is easier to control and park. Just go slow and wear a shirt because it hurts less when your man boobs and chin land on the road .
They must'nt have done the beep beep on the hill to the Buddha...Good job to make people aware of this unnessecary carnage Sean..Well done for the work for that info..Thanks
Lol, Thai people have protection tattoo's all over them, they wear good luck amulets round they necks and beep 2 times at the temple, But still die like fly's everyday, But hay its all good, Mask wearing is coming back, Cheers buddy
Wow man where did you jag that thumb nail from? Back in the day, like 30 odd years ago when I first met my missus and spent time around her farm I came across a magazine that was issued monthly full of morbid photos like that taken by the police/forensic people. It was full of graphic photos of accident victims, murdered people, suicide cases. Unbelievable that it wasn't censored. Lovely friendly people Thais but I found that rather macabre and a little disturbing in respect to their mentality. They do have a rather diverse outlook on things compared to us in the Western World. Interesting topic buddy and I would imagine the death toll Thailand wide horrific. Out in rural Thailand I have seen kids as young as 9 and 10 cruising around the streets on motorcycles unlicensed (of course) or families of four Thais (husband, wife and two kids) with no helmets on piled up on one motorcycle. It appears there's no rules at all in rural Thailand. Anyway you stay safe there buddy. 🤩
Great vlogs! It's too easy to rent a bike with little to no experience. I'm guilty of that. All the liability is on those the rent and left to the local authorities to police which becomes difficult. And then we add some cold beers and beautiful scenery 🍑 on top of that. We love our freedom but it's scenarios like this that will eventually change the landscape.
Currently in Phuket and I can’t believe the amount of idiots either. Been here many times before, but I will never come back during High Season. The traffic is just too stressful and the big, buffed up fools on their giant bikes are usually the first to come off. I have ZERO sympathy when they do as they are just plain dangerous to others. Pretty surprised at the death toll statistics, but I believe every word. I ride slow here in Kata and only on a 125 Honda Click. Whatever you do, if you’re coming here, take out travel insurance and for gods sake ride.drive slow. Don’t assume the road ahead will STAY the same. It changes in seconds, and if you’re going under 45kms of less you have time more time to react. Great Vlog btw.
Btw: just the other day a Thai national died (going too fast) and hitting a car. Just up the hill from Makro in Kata. I used to drive/ride Galle Road in Sri Lanka which is one of the most dangerous stretches in the world btw Colombo and Matara. Phuket is fast becoming the same. Be careful out there on your bike kids. It ain’t worth it.
Just make sure your insurance covers you for any accidents on your bike Sean god forbid many insurance companies wont insure you now if you have a accident in Thailand
G'day, flight booked, everything sorted but today we find out that China is just about to release their latest lurgy on the world and Thailand is going to let them in, the result of this is new restrictions coming into play, vaxx passports are back on the agenda so looks like it is going to be a long cold winter here after all, think all new arrivals will need to be double clot shotted, gutted is not the word, flight was over a grand with no comebacks if there is a change in Thailand's arrivals policy, enjoy buddy, got a feeling these changes will happen before the 10th, prob mask mandates coming back in too, a wet Wales for the foreseeable it is :) all the best Andy

In a week or so the deaths will be due to covid again
This was very apparent when I was in phuket over December 22, insane people on the roads around patong phuket
