@2:25 BINGO Sweet Pea. My plan is to keep my paid for condo in the U.S. The few bills associated with it are already set to auto-pay. My Filipina already owns our house in Talisay, free and clear. The plan is for us to fly back and forth. The U.S. in our short summer while she's on break from her public school teaching job, and Talisay when school resumes. Probably a 9:3 month ratio. As I'm much older than Mary, I expect to kick the bucket first. She'll have her home there, and my U.S. home will go to my kids to do with what they wish. Mary is set up to live a long life without me.
@@TheFilipinaPea I had looked into this a long time ago because I wanted to stop it and then found out most are single moms and that is all they can do to make money to feed their kid or kids and themselves, so I let it go. I don't want to ruin the lives of single moms or families. Although I don't agree with what they are doing either. I think it is sad they sell their bodies. Although in advertising the popular motto is sex sells. But, I would turn in anyone who uses their kids who are underage in any manner related to this. I know the sex industry is illegal there, even online camgirls, etc. are doing it illegally there and could go to prison for years but they have no other source of income, so thinking of their kids starving, I couldn't turn anyone in and decided the best thing was to let it go if it was something that would be legal here. It is all legal here in the USA except anyone under 18 yrs old. So maybe PH is behind with the laws for this industry like many other things. It is really a difficult thing for me so let me know your thoughts, Pea! I am interested to see and hear how you handle this subject.
After I Retired in August: I gave away my Truck to my Brother. My three Laser Printers & my Binding machine to the other Brother. Distributed all the "stuff" from my parents to Family members, gave away all my heavy, oak furniture. There is one balikbayan box with my Son to ship once I have an address. I came to Cebu City Monday, with two suitcases & two laptop bags. 15 Days booked in a Hotel & 20 days worth of clothes. Next week, I look for a Condo Rental for Six Months.
he wasn't just a comedic genius, he was also a great philosopher and kept back the flood of idiots who think identity politics has any depth or value. Once he was gone, the crazies just came out of the woodwork.
In 2005, I sold EVERYTHING! Furniture, vehicles, appliances, house, everything I couldn't put in 2 suitcases, and moved to Mindanao! I had been to the Philippines years before, and had always wanted to go back. I had gotten divorced, and I loaded my new found freedom into my bags and bought a plane ticket. I'd been talking to a young lady for several months and I was on my way to meet her. To make a long story short....we've now been married 18 years and have 2 sons. We're in the states and I see it as the best decision I ever made (moving to the Philippines years ago). It's not a decision that works for everyone, but in my case... ABSOLUTELY!
6 figure income, million dollar home, 3 car garage with German cars, giant tvs in every room, ignored and disrespected by your household or, just enough money to get by, comfortable home, a tricycle chauffer at your service, one small tv where your wife who just cooked for you and your kids gather around and watch together. At the end of the day every man just wants peace and respect. Sadly nowadays he won't find that in the west.
I visited a couple of times then when I retired I came with one shoulder bag and little cash, I have never looked back. Being content is a wonderfull feeling. Great upload miss P.
I chose Thailand and noved at the age 79. It was easy. I had one living family member who had noved ocerseas for marriage 30 years years ago. Visas and money transfers can be annoying but can be overcome with persistance. Six years later, I can honestly say my life is blissful.
Three more reasons why I watch every episode of The Filipina Pea Self-Reflection and Integrity: She polishes her soul, avoiding careless hypocrisy. Integrity is her mirror, reflecting truth. Golden Rule Keeper: Others feel her kindness, for she treats them as she wishes to be treated. No double standards, no masks. A Voice of Kindness: She never humiliates, never shames. Her words are wings that lift, not weights that crush.
I retired in April and immediately put the house up for sale. In July I had sold the house, sold my two cars and was taking a SUV full of boxes to my Sister's house I came to Thailand with two 70 pound boxes, cash and a Condo purchased in December of the previous year. All my friends in the USA said I was making a big mistake. Well 14 years later, it was the best decision I ever made.
i have been married to a pinay for 32 years ,and retired at 58 in 2019 to the province of cebu . i have not been back to usa and i don't intend to go back to visit . Only if i have too .i don't miss it . there are more products available in usa and that's the only benefit that i can think of . add to that the satanic agenda the Democrats and pals are pushing on the public . I have to pray that my daughter will be ok there ,and her 1-year-old daughter .
I went from Europe to Thailand also.. After 7 years relocated to the Philippines.. Thai culture and language, yearly air pollution.. I should have done this years ago. Philippines feel so much better!!! For holidays.. Thailand absolutely, food and hospitality sector is so much better.. For living? Philippines!!!!!
I do plan to move to someplace more affordable in the near future. Japan or Thailand are first and second on my list. Regardless of where I choose, I'm not certain how well I could maintain my sanity without my machine shop and tools! Those and my telescopes! Yes! I'm an astronomer and love restoring older telescopes! Now THAT'S a dilemma if ever there was one! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!! Pea! You drive me crazy and make me laugh! Thank you!
Pea....The best yet.....I did it moved to a new country with only $3000 usd, credit card and everything I owned hanging on my back. Thank you for all the hope and straight talk you have for the people ! You are beautiful !!!! Geoff from SW Mexico
Your opening introduction is so spot on, Pea! You never cease to amaze even after watching 100’s of your videos. Minimalism offers another option that some fail to recognize and it’s the best option of them all in my opinion. Slow travel keeping your options always open. Once you get rid of the anchors (as you so correctly termed them), some realize they never want to be anchored again as long as their health permits. That doesn’t mean you can’t be stationary when needed. It just means you always keep your options open and stay small ready to pull anchor when the time is right. Having a like minded partner is ideal.
Thank you, Pea. You are without a doubt the sweetest Pea on the planet. I love the way you give excellent advice without being judgmental or too opinionated. I thank you for all the work you do to make these videos. You are not only a very beautiful lady, but such a beautiful person as well. Thank you Pea! 🙏❤️
Hi Pea., you have described how I currently live, prior to my retirement, seven years ago, I sold my house and the majority of my furniture, I moved into a two bedroom apartment, and lived there until I retired. I learned that my happiness didn’t evolve around material things, but my peace of mind, my health, being able to share time with close friends, and travel. When I sold my house and minimized my responsibilities of asset ownership, I became less burdened with debt and anxiety, I could breathe. The evolution of life has helped me define and understand myself as a person, and where my happiness lies. Thanks Pea, powerful message 😊
This is exactly what i'm doing now, packing up my house in Florida and preparing to move to the Philippines and work virtually at 49. The hardest thing is downsizing from an entire house into a few suitcases and boxes...it takes letting go and being willing to make some sacrifices. But it's worth it to live in the Philippines.
Pea, you did it again! Another great video filled with wise words said in a way that we can't help but stop, listen, and seriously consider the truth of what you said. Plus, a woman who appreciates George Carlin is definitely gold! I am fortunate that work lets me travel to the Phillipines often, and the more times I go, the more I enjoy it. Hopefully I'll be able to see and do more on my upcoming trip. Keep up the great work Pea, you are a true diamond out there!
Fantastic video Pea! Definitely something to think about and be completely sure about ! Could i do it ? I'm not sure ..yet . Appreciate you always ! Have a wonderful week ! Goodnight! 😊💝🙏
This video hits home perfectly for what I just done in my life, Pea. I did everything you mentioned in this video. A friend of mine helped me how to do all those things and periodically kept me motivated to get it all done before I left the USA. Great video!
Great video Pea. I am in the process of getting rid of just about everything before heading overseas at the end of the year. This has been the hardest and most stressful part of making this move.
Hi 👋 Filipina Pea. This is a "Brilliant" video full of wise advice. Thanks for this video has I'm getting ready for my retirement and thinking 🤔 about settling in the Philippines. Take care and keep up the great work Pea.❤
I don't comment on a lot of videos but I've watched yours as far back as 4 years ago. I'd encourage you to keep up the American show/movie clips, they were gold. Knowing George Carlin is legit old school American comedy. And The Big Bang Theory robbery clip is the one I think about every time petty shit gets stolen lmao. Bonus for the Up in the Air clip. That movie was ahead of its time
This was one of your best video as for the topic of moving to the Philippines. Great JOB and really enjoy the genie at the end. Sounds like the Philippines are a LOT like Costa Rica where I am currently living. Keep up the great work!
Ive been considering the leap to the PH since I saw Pea's first video. I really appreciate the deep thoughts in this video regarding leaving an old life behind and being reborn , very insightful!
Perfect timing as usual, very helpful video. I have committed to move permanently to Ilocos Sur and for the past year selling all my properties, equipment and toys. It is mind blowing to purposely sacrificing so much memorabilia, practical tools, relationships and money to achieve this. The anticipation of a new and better life is well worth the risk in my opinion. I just have to find a good and honest moving company.....to me that is the hard part
I’m one of those that sold everything. I came to Thailand with a carry-on bag and a large suitcase. I had 5 boxes of stuff that I kept in my sister’s garage in California containing warm clothes and a few small sentimental items (those boxes are gone now). I got rid of everything in a span of 5 weeks. I sold some stuff, trashed some stuff, and gave books to the library. I had already digitized most photos and documents. I was married (now divorced) and lived 30+ years in a small (940 sq ft) house so I was used to getting rid of stuff I didn’t need. I will say that the process of getting rid of stuff was liberating. Seven years later I have a house and more stuff (not as much) and I could walk away from nearly all of it again.
Thanks, Pea. I did this and have talked with dozens of expats who have done this. Stage 1, this could be fun! Stage 2, WTF am I doing? Stage 3, I sold some things and it actually feels freeing. Stage 4, Free of the "stuff" I move to another country. Stage 5, Best decision of my life. I am not my stuff. Some do a Stage 6 where they reacquire stuff. But all agree that it's freeing to go minimal and explore the world.
But stage 6 You are aware of how it can trap you so you are Minimal and able to walk away from it all in a heart beat. Other than maybe the woman you now have haha
I’m a trucker and before I married a Filipina, everything I owned was in my truck. Even with a house in the Philippines 90% of everything I own is still in my truck traveling around the U.S. with me at all times. Yes I have a big truck and also yes I don’t have a lot of possessions lol.
🎉 definitely contemplating the future. There were three times in my life where I walked away from everything… didn’t have to …I chose to. There is a story behind each one. It is liberating to reset. A whole house in a storage container auctioned out is about $1200. With that in mind, I can’t believe storage facilities charging $100 a month are in business. But it’s good business.. My end plan is to have multiple passports and multiple places around the world. Good job hardworking Pea…. Another thought-provoking and informative video.
It was the scariest thing I ever did but it was also the most liberating thing I have done I planned my retirement 6 years ago and all I had when I arrived was a backpack and a suitcase full of chocolate for my girlfriend and her family. I have been here for over a year now and love it. My happiness was worth it! Thanks for the video Pea!!
Ironically, the very first video I saw about the Philippines was yours saying NOT to move there 😂. I will be there in about 6 weeks for my first recon visit. Thank you again for all the info and wisdom you provide!
I've shipped 116 balikbayan boxes so far. Plenty has been consumed already but still, lots of good stuff. Every item was vetted by size, weight, value, and shipping cost and came out positive. Some people will be saying: look at all his stuff. But most will never see it. It's for me and mine, and not to impress anyone. The idea of leaving it all behind and starting again just ain't my thing. I will save a lot of time and money and futile searches to find flimsy substitutes for the items I already have. Besides, I am finally reducing what I have and setting up the life I want. I couldn't afford to buy many things again on today's inflated prices. Thing is, I'm really not that materialistic. You are only that way if you overspend for what you get. I very rarely buy anything for full price. I bet I spent less money for my good stuff than many others spent on their lesser stuff Because they are lazy, and I am not. PS: how come other people's stuff is shit, but your shit is stuff?
Great advice, Miss Pea. I've been doing the minimalist thing for the last few years. Saving + planning for retirement. Haven't decided my destination yet. I'll start scouting countries over the next few years. ✌️❤️
If you're vaxxed you probably won't are it. 3 year dealt for may, 4 year delta for some . Have you been following the "excess death rates"? Insane....10 000% in some countries. My point, don't forget to enjoy the moment. Carpe diem, for many it's unknowingly their last.
I would suggest to start your adventure. Boots on the ground can help you understand the finances you will need to achieve your goals. I only share this idea because once I did that I was able to move up my retirement date 6 years. I have 28 days left of work and plane tickets have been bought for a month already. In reality i could have done it 10 years early..
@Fat_Old_Bald Thank you for the advice. I am on track to visit in 2025. I want to see the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam over a 6 week trip. Getting my ducks in a row before I go. ✌️❤️
Good stuff, Pea. I have lived out of my suitcase off and on for about 25 years doing my consulting work. I have come to like it, a lot. Shedding the detritus of the past and reveling in today is very liberating.
Hi Pea, I think you're correct when you say that memories are the most important things you have. It's great that we live in a digital age and can easily transport hordes of photos and videos now. Regarding your other possessions it would be best to take your time if selling rather than doing it all in a hurry if you're looking for the best price.
My Story, is utterly complicated beyond materialism, aking Pulot Oso, choose isang Pamilya Lalaki, & my Dear Family’s been reeling after the passing of my Father, though damage control is starting to work, so I can soon, go “abroad” ✨🙏🏼😅 Nagahulat ako, sa akong mga pinili, nga ibubo ulan 🌧️kanako ang Tanan 🌧️ 🫶🏼🥳

When I left Canada for the Philippines, I had already sold my car a year prior for a good price. I gave a huge stamp collection to my granddaughter and a few items to my son. Everything else I sold with my Condo because in that way I got to use it all till the taxi took me to the airport, as soon as the deal closed. Easy and no stress. The Philippines in my opinion is overrated as a Paradice, however a Top Shelf Quality Filipina is definitely PARADICE. I am 77 and she is 47 and looks 25. Talk about Reborn.
I did just that at the beginning of this year. However, I've been married to a Filipina for 30+ years and we planned to retire here for several years. My wife's family built a one bedroom western style bungalow on family land for us to move into when we arrived. Covid slowed us down a bit but we finally made it here. Back in San Diego we were struggling financially but now that same fixed income puts us in what most would consider wealthy especially since we have no rent or mortgage to pay each month.
I'm 35, so there's no way I can sell everything and retire, but I'm planning a 2 or 3 week vacation sometime early next year. If I like it there then I'd make a game plan to move there when the time comes, especially if I met a good woman who wants to work with me towards that goal. 🙏
You’re always current and relevant Pea. I suspect that this video will resonate with many Westerners who despair how their country has been changed so much for the worse, and is now unrecognizable. Lots of good advice for those of us who are seriously thinking of making the temporary leap permanent.
I sold everything that wouldn't fit in a balikbayan box. What did fit I shipped here. It was 32 jumbo LBC boxes. Some of those boxes were consumables. I will be here or somewhere in SE Asia until my last days.
17 extra large boxes after 3 years (thanks to cvid). I tell people there was a fire and the rest of my junk burned to the ground. I don't miss much of it, very often, to be honest. 😉
I have never been materialistic. It is very liberating living as a minimalist and I did it for years. Both my sons got their inheritance already and I am finishing up. House is empty and up for sale. It was very easy for me to give the ex all the property. After 8 years we are finally finishing things up. I will be in Manila in first week of April. Final retirement 31 March. I miss renting a furnished place and having no need for doing maintenance and being tied down with possessions. Just grab the suitcase and go.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."? The problem with selling everything and moving there is we can't actually own land there. I think keeping a house here is important too.
I don’t think this video is intended for the “one foot in, on foot out” expat. You can own a condo and there are ways to acquire a piece of land if it’s really that important. For many the main thing is not being tied down and having the ability to move around when you feel like it. Another saying is “What you own ends up owning you”
@@jasonbourne1596 I’m well aware that. You can also put land in a corporations name. But at the end of the day nobody in a developed country actually owns their property either. The taxes are ridiculous in most places especially once you build a house on it. Just hire a couple of attorneys and protect your assets.
@@jakedmc If I remember right the cooperation you mentioned, even then it would have to be 60 percent owned by Filipinos. Like I said, you can't own land there. Only in Subic Bay is it possible.
after doing the math on shipping, i have to let it all go. vintage Porsche, 30 plus guitars, amps, and everything i've ever owned. all must go. good riddance. my plan is a suitcase, a guitar, and a remote job. oh ya, and a stack of benjis. i'm not coming over to retire. i'm coming to start my life.
I'm retired, single, never married with no kids, a paid for house, car, and possessions, money in the bank with a pretty good steady income. I moved back home when I got out of the military into the house I grew up in when I was a kid that my grandfather built. I bought it in 2010 and renovated it and settled in a few years ago. I don't have hardly any friends or family left (most of my friends and family are so far away, or gone now). I just lost my dad this year and my mom isn't doing well either. When I was in the military I loved traveling around, and I spent about half of my time overseas in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, deployed, etc. I used to love doing that, but the only thing I lack these days is health and energy to try and make such a life altering decision, again. I was hoping to get home and plant, finally. I'm unsure the PH is for me because I've always pretty much kept to myself, but I'm seriously considering ditching the West and going for it. Feeling better would certainly make this an easier thing to do. Just like it used to be. Maybe one of these days? BTW: You're looking better with every video, Pea. Keep up the great work!
Just do it man, otherwise your life will fly by in front of your eyes and it'll be over. The other thing you can remember is that the Philippines is a good hub to go to other countries, so if you go there and it isn't for you, you can just hop on a plane and go to Japan, Thailand, Korea, any number of places and maybe those places would suit you better.
I totally understand you, bro, but rest assured you'll most likely feel at least 20 years younger should you decide to take that big leap of faith and make your move!
sir it appears that if you go somewhere there are other expats that you will have as many or as few friends as you wish to. its really nice to have a Filipina thats way younger than you to ask you every morning what you want for breakfast with a smile, (a very unwrinkled smile) it can actually prolong your life and improve your health, as many have found, including myself. Ive been married to my Filipina almost14 years, with very little problems. i wish i had done it 25 years earlier.
I understand but never too late. I first gave up everything and moved to China at age 58. Planned to stay until retiring but only made it 12 years before corporate politics intervened and moved back to US for 4 1/2 years. Last year built a house and moved to Philippines. What a great decision for me, but as Pea says, best to give it a test drive.
First week of pandemic I met my now wife online ! Over the next 2 years I had skyped with her and her kids and a ton of family members when they had get togethers. I sold my house, my Shasta Lake tracker fishing boat and my perfectly beautiful F-150. Transferred the money here to my wife to purchase our home before I even arrived. Had a couple of yard sale give aways and only shipped what would be useful here. I do miss some things about California but have so many more great relationships here now. And I barely even know the language. I Love it and feel it was the right decision (for me anyways.) You are amazing at what you do Dear Pea !
The only thing I can think of that I had to give up is money and time. It’s not cheap flying back and forth between our countries and it’s not a quick trip either. If you’re blessed enough to have a lot of money you can get a direct business class flight but it will still take you 12 to 18 hours depending on where you are flying from here in the U.S. If you are like the rest of us though it’s probably going to take 2 or 3 flights and take 20 to 30 hours. Oh ya the money for business flights are about $5k to $7k last time I checked with the cheaper flights being $1k to $1500. Living in a beautiful country with wonderful hospitable people including a woman who became my wife though, priceless. The money and time was a small price to pay for all the Philippines has given me in return. So if there is anyone out there who wants to make the jump, be like Nike and “just do it”. Full disclosure I don’t live in the Philippines full time. I work 9 months a year in the U.S. and live in the Philippines all winter or 3 months. Been living this way for the last 6 years and will continue it till I retire there. Good luck and watch all Peas videos before u make the trip because the info will save you everything. I wish I could have learned the easy way by watching her videos instead of the hard way. It’s all Pea’s fault for not starting her channel sooner to save me. Lol
As I got older, the idea of that long travel time back and forth to East Coast US made me realize that I didn't want to try to maintain two homes. We've been here in Philippines nearly 6 years now and the last time we went to US, was right after the pandemic. I scored business class on Emirates for less than $2k per ticket. On the flight from Manila to Dubai, we were the only 3 passengers in all business class. Only problem is now I'm really dreading that ride back in economy even more.
@@hermitbob7304 I hear you. I have never traveled in business class before and I’m a big guy so glad you got such a steal on those tickets. If I could retire today I would leave and never come back except to visit my kid on special occasions. I might feel old lol but I’m not old enough to retire yet and if they keep raising the age I probably never will get to retire.
A tip a friend gave me for sentimental items that you have no real need for anymore or cant take with you for whatever reason, take pictures of them and keep a digital library of them before you sell/give/throw away. This way you can cut down on physical space, and keep the photos as a memento.

Dear miss Pea, I sincerely admire your intelligence! Thank you very much for this video. I hope some people will make proper conclusions earlier because of your work 👏
Australian, been coming to Philippines for 25 years, 15 years ago, working in a shit job, drove to the airport, left my car on the side of the road, called my best friend ( filipina) asked her to book me a ticket, had no money, no clothes, didn't tell my family, friends, work, nothing. Now Married with 2 beautiful Girls, live in Manila, Have a great life. Thankyou Philippines.
@@KaneODriscoll I teach English, online to Japanese kids, had many jobs teaching here, The Philippines is not the country People think it is, it is Booming. I was a Mining engineer in Australia, went back to uni to get a teaching cert, rest is history. Have such a better life now. Filipinos are wonderful people, their culture is amazing, they are amazing, my whole idea of life has change since being around them. They never complain about anything, they just see the goodness in everything, they are respectful of everyone, and my personal favourite, is they always have a good time.
50 Million men from all over the world look at Pea and all want to move to the Philippines to find a Pea of their own. The advice of going there to see what it is like for a month or two is great advice. For some people it might be the heat they don't like . Granted I live in Florida but I keep my bedroom at 64 F and my house at 68 F I stay inside as much as I can when the temp outside is over 76 F. Next would be the food. I could not eat rice every day . I am a meat and Potato kind of guy and I love steaks. Beef is something I have always loved. Also I love real milk. Knowing you will be making a trip you need to see if you can live with out a lot of the things you love or enjoy. I love Pasta but not with all the sugar. I don't eat a lot of sweets but that is my choice to me it's something I don't care for. Yes I do eat some sweets but not in my foods. I think the last time I had a slice of cake was almost a year ago. Yet I love baking and bake a lot of cakes cookies brownies pies make fudge so on I just don't eat them lol. I end up giving them away. I love to cook but I only eat one meal a day sometimes I eat every other day depends on my mood.. To be fair even if you find a true love no matter how beautiful she or he is over time the things you miss will soon catch up with you. For example Pea is so beautiful most men would think if I had pea I would not need anything ells ever again. But over time the thought of that thick juicy Prime rib with Beef mushroom gravy over mashed potatoes starts making your mouth water. Thinking of that ice cold glass of fresh real milk with the meal and a side dish of fresh baked home made apple pie with French Vanilla Ice cream. Or when it is really hot out and the power is off you miss that Air Con that keeps you cool. Remember Pea has been to the U.S and she knows how our food taste. I am sure our food here in the U.S is nothing like it is in the Philippines. Last I heard a really nice Steak dinner in the Philippines is about 100 USD for one person. That would coast me 700 a week to eat there lmao.

Interesting, never heard of that! It’s illegal for Filipinas to swell naked pics, so I’ll investigate 👍
@@TheFilipinaPea thank you so much
@@TheFilipinaPea I had looked into this a long time ago because I wanted to stop it and then found out most are single moms and that is all they can do to make money to feed their kid or kids and themselves, so I let it go.

Yes, George was a comedic legend. My favorite was the joke about morher nature and climate change.

he wasn't just a comedic genius, he was also a great philosopher and kept back the flood of idiots who think identity politics has any depth or value.

ABSOLUTELY!
Isn't Mindanao the place where that expat recently got kidnapped?
6 figure income, million dollar home, 3 car garage with German cars, giant tvs in every room, ignored and disrespected by your household or, just enough money to get by, comfortable home, a tricycle chauffer at your service, one small tv where your wife who just cooked for you and your kids gather around and watch together.
At the end of the day every man just wants peace and respect. Sadly nowadays he won't find that in the west.

Three more reasons why I watch every episode of The Filipina Pea
Self-Reflection and Integrity:
She polishes her soul, avoiding careless hypocrisy. Integrity is her mirror, reflecting truth.
Golden Rule Keeper:
Others feel her kindness, for she treats them as she wishes to be treated. No double standards, no masks.
A Voice of Kindness:
She never humiliates, never shames. Her words are wings that lift, not weights that crush.

Excellent advice Pea!

Thank you Pea , have a nice day 😊
Thanks, Pea.
Life should be exactly that fun… cheers to all that have the stones to live free!
Stage 7..your Pinay wife passes away. Her family is all over you constantly asking for money. I came home and have no desire to return.

Hi Pea, I think you're correct when you say that memories are the most important things you have. It's great that we live in a digital age and can easily transport hordes of photos and videos now. Regarding your other possessions it would be best to take your time if selling rather than doing it all in a hurry if you're looking for the best price.

I did just that at the beginning of this year. However, I've been married to a Filipina for 30+ years and we planned to retire here for several years. My wife's family built a one bedroom western style bungalow on family land for us to move into when we arrived. Covid slowed us down a bit but we finally made it here. Hey Joe!
You make so much logical sense. Refreshing compared to all the other noise in this digital world
Love your work pea.
Another saying is “What you own ends up owning you”
@@jakedmc You can lease land, not aquire it. Your wife can own land, not the expat.

Hahaha! Oh my gosh! I love the open honesty, Pea! Hahaha! Keep on keeping it real! Blessings! Muaah! Hahaha!
Keep this motivation up and you guys will have me on a plane tomorrow
sir it appears that if you go somewhere there are other expats that you will have as many or as few friends as you wish to. its really nice to have a Filipina thats way younger than you to ask you every morning what you want for breakfast with a smile, (a very unwrinkled smile) it can actually prolong your life and improve your health, as many have found, including myself.
Be careful guys…
Always 👍👍

Amen. I would like to know for sure but I bet 90% of the guys who do this end up in misery.
@@ScooterOnHisWay2024most, those listening to the many foreigner vloggers here in the phillipines, are oblivious most of the risks.

Can't survive without money you can't work how can you live there??
@@neilasd3043 I teach online make 900 us a month, so yes you can, plus I have a side business.
What did you do for work?
@@KaneODriscoll I teach English, online to Japanese kids, had many jobs teaching here, The Philippines is not the country People think it is, it is Booming. I was a Mining engineer in Australia, went back to uni to get a teaching cert, rest is history. Have such a better life now. Filipinos are wonderful people, their culture is amazing, they are amazing, my whole idea of life has change since being around them. They never complain about anything, they just see the goodness in everything, they are respectful of everyone, and my personal favourite, is they always have a good time.

Very good topic! Believe it or not, I've packed my backpack and am almost on my way, leaving 99% behind!
