    This concrete pour shows you how easy it can be to pour a concrete floor. It requires some skills, the right tools, and the proper techniques for installing the concrete.
    All four of us in the video have poured and finished concrete for most of our lives. During this time we've learned and acquired the skills and experience needed to make pouring concrete relatively easy.
    In addition to that, we use the proper tools and techniques that make our job easier.
    Pouring concrete as we do can be easy if you follow all the same methods we use, but in doing so, it does take some experience knowing how to work with concrete.
    Proper experience with someone teaching you the correct skills will make pouring concrete easy for you too. It may take some time, but it can be done.

    Good workers with plenty of experience, or enthusiastic, willing to learn apprentices! Also that water thing you use to get a 7” slump fascinates me, whose career experience was 4- 5 inch slump generally. 😀👍

    Hey Mike,
    I always love the Videos. I wish you were in Souther California not many Concrete Contractor have your skill or knowledge.
    I have a questions if you have time.
    First i'm pouring a house pad for my structure that is 50x90 is with Pre Engineered cold rolled steel structure. The Engineering calls out a min 4" slab with a 2' width by 2' Depth perimeter around the slab where the Steel will Frame will bolt into the perimeter.
    We entend to have a polished concrete floors on the first floor of the home. For longevity & to hopefully limit cracking over time. What would you recommend the best Concrete mix be for my project, Should I go more than 4", add additional rebar, or rebar + Wire mess combo.
    Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dustin

      4 to 5 inches is good. A higher psi mix will polish better, so 4000 is better than 3000 psi for polishing. A mat of rebar is better than wire, no need for both.

    Hello Mike
    What thickness would you recommend for a rat slab in house crawl space

    • @MikeDayConcrete
      @MikeDayConcrete  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      2 to 4 inches is enough

    What is the ratio of fiber mesh to concrete? Also what’s the average hour pay for a worker?

    • @MikeDayConcrete
      @MikeDayConcrete  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      We add a 1lb bag of fibermesh to 1 yard of concrete. Average pay per hr is 25 to 50 for a good experienced finisher.

    You obviously don’t need it Mike, otherwise you would do it, but I always wondered why you didn’t need to put expansion foam between the floor and the walls?

    • @MikeDayConcrete
      @MikeDayConcrete  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not a bad idea to do it, it helps with expansion/contraction. But if the plan doesn't call for it we don't usually do it. On some jobs we work on the plans have it in there so we install it on them.

      I agree. However sometimes someone pumping the concrete can get it low on you throughout the whole job, making it harder on you.
