Truly Incredible! - Our Greatest Silver Coin EVER Found Metal Detecting!

- We've been metal detecting for quite a long time now. Week and week, month after month, year after year; we've found some of the oldest coins and I think the coolest things possible. There are only very few coins that have remained on ALL of our bucket lists the entire time, but that comes to an end today! Now don't get me wrong, there are other coins that we haven't found, but this was all of our personal most wanted one, and when it finally comes out of the ground, there is no better feeling!
Funny story about this place too.... Doug door-knocked this old farm house well over a year ago. The farmer granted permission but with all the other places we were also going to at the time, we kinda forgot about this one. Fast forward 18 months later, our new friend Matt contacted me and invited us to join him on a hunt. He said it was an old early 1800's farmhouse with lots of property and cut to the ground soybeans in the field, which is right up our alley. When I asked him where the place was guess where it was, the same farm Doug got permission to all those months earlier. Since we forgot about the place we are deferring the permission to Matt and we joined him on what will turn out to be an unforgettable day for years to come!

(thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

The excitiment is contagious! I have wanted to do this forever. My Dad, "Nahh, you'll find pull tabs & aluminum cans. Why would you want to do that?" But I feel like just at a popular beach, I'd find rings & coins! You guys don't do beaches, but in RI, we got loads of spots I could do! Dad said, "Its expensive to do that! To only find washers & junk!" I never stopped wanting to though!

Congrats Doug! That’s a beautiful 8R. I knew what it was as soon as I saw the cap and rays. I believe the numbers and letters y’all were confused about are the assayer initials and marks.

I found an 1839 eight reale a little over a year ago. My daughter was with me and she absolutely never goes, she’s 18 now, but she said I was so excited I reminded her of a little kid getting a Christmas present. Mine has a square nail hole in it too! Awesome find! Congratulations !

I have a box full of wheat pennies. I have to do a little looking up. Was told they made them only up to a certain year. Once I see, I might list on Ebay.
The Mexico coin is as follows: made from 1824-94, .903 % silver, 27.07 grams ( 20 Mexico grams ), ASW .7859 oz or around $18.00-19.00 in silver alone. JM is the mints assayer's initials. Book id KM# 377.10 No mintage but a common coin valued around $40. To $60. Dollars.

Awesome Mexican 8 Reale, Doug! The middle of the sunburst is the Liberty Cap, same as the US liberty cap large cent. The cap was a common symbol of liberty back then. This was made shortly after Mexican independence.

I have a hummingbird feeder at my house with a super slow motion camera setup next to it. I love playing back them hovering at that slow motion speed. They actually rotate their wings over 80x every second! It’s incredible to watch.

Hi guys…um Jason, can you please explain yourself (and I guess all the guys) about what Nickel Nibbler just said about you in a video. It’s pretty disappointing what he said. The video suddenly cut off before it ended but he said some very disappointing things about you…the video is all the sudden “private” so I can’t finish it.
I watched the whole video. To be honest, I couldn’t tell if he was being funny or serious. Now it appears that all of Nickel Nibbler’s videos have been removed.
@@jeffhall6115 yes all the videos are gone. I clicked on Nickel Nibbler’s video immediately after getting the notification. Kyle hasn’t posted in a long time so I watched as soon as he posted. Halfway through I paused Kyles video to comment because I was so shocked.

I had to put a bib on from drooling so bad seeing all the great finds, I get so stoked wishing I was with you guys I need to get back to metal detecting. I had a White's Metal Detector and being an idiot when I had to auction off the folks' things, I had totally forgot my detector and have kicked myself so many times. Always enjoyed metal detecting with my uncle Kenneth in Missouri, he'd find diamond rings, coins loved every minute. Thinl of all the stories behind your finds and who they were, wow, just wow, love your episodes and think what is yet to be found. Two thumbs up.

Wow congrats Doug!! I’ve seen a few 8’s dug on TH-cam but not one like this, it’s such a wild looking coin! I dug one too, about two months ago I couldn’t believe it, guess we can check that one off the bucket list and move onto the $20 gold coin 😂
