It sucks. I remember my 21st birthday just going home and crying after trying to go 'shopping'. It sucks! I sometimes think women should get clothing the way men do, with measurments rather than sizing that has no true measurement it sticks to. A 14 in one shop can be a 12 in another. It makes no sense. And shops think were all petite small girls...it's sad but it's what cheap labour does that these high street shops mass produce.
When I find something that fits & looks nice in store I BUY IT! My friends are usually waiting for sales, but I don’t have the guarantee the item will still be in stock given the fact that larger sizes are the first to sold out
I loved the black frill top on you in River Island! So pretty, Iam a size 18 and hate showing my stomach, you are really inspiring I love your confidence xx
I would love to see you go to m&s and next I’m always surprised by what they have in! A lot of people dismiss because they think it’s for older people or it’s too expensive but I’ve notice they are usually good quality etc
This makes me so sad. Good for you for not being down about this. I'm a size 4/6 and take for granted that I can get what I want in store, but what a bummer for at least half of the women out there😞
My take on the “should I support this place or not by buying something when they don’t support me” is that it’s already miserable enough going shopping when the sizes are so limited that if you do find something that you want and that brings you joy when you try it on then you should buy it. Don’t deprive yourself of that extra bit of joy when you’re already having a rough time. Yes maybe they benefit from your money but I think sometimes it’s ok to do something just because it makes you feel good and sometimes that individualistic action that benefits us is what we need to do to make sure we are taking care of ourselves too. You deserve to take the joy where you find it. And yes continue to have those discussions anyway in the hopes that change is made. But that’s just one person’s view that you can totally disregard as you didn’t ask for it! X
I find Tesco and Asda are pretty decent for bigger sizes. I don't care about people views on Shein, I think it's a brilliant place to get such a huge varied range of clothing styles and sizes. Buying from shein has made me feel ao much better.
I'm always excited when I see your videos are uploaded! I feel like it would be a blast to go shopping with you. Thank you for taking us along through the camera lens :)
RI do a farily decent plus size range online, but not at all in store. In fact, their normal range goes up to a 18 but I can never find that size in store at all! 16 can be hard to find also!!
I’m at Walmart rn but I CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME AND WATCH THIS VIDEO. I just had a little sneak peak 🥰 I have been binge watching all of your videos 💗💗💗
My river island is tiny, they do have alot of 16 and 18's tbf, although the bigger sizes seem to sell quickly , I've asked them before, 16 especially. Xxx I loved the RI black top on you, ❤❤❤
I love this series Emma! Where I live I can shop in two stores, I’m a size 24/26 but my body shape further limits my options. I find it so frustrating that I have to spend a lot of money online, ordering multiple sizes and then take the time to return things. So many stores are pulling plus sizes and it’s disappointing. With regards to should we put our money in these stores; here’s my 2 cents… we shouldn’t feel bad for finding something that works for us when we have such limited choices. We’ve just got to keep speaking out, I also give feedback to stores - but most just pass the blame 🤷🏻♀️
Oh I think they do stock biggar sizes , but they only put out a few and they go quick because most ladies are larger these days hence why all the smaller sizes are left like size 6 and 8 When my teenage daughter goes shopping and she cant find her size she gets so upset ..so we tend to shop online as you can always find your size , which is very sad as we like to feel the material and it's just nice to have a mother and daughter shopping trip ..😢 love ya Em thanks for taking us along .. agree something needs to change for us larger ladies ❤
Well I had no luck with River Island. I loved a dress that was size 22, which hypotheticaly is my size in most UK brands, I bought it, but it was huge on me. It looked horrible so I had to return it. At least now I know that I should go for 14 with this brand. And this Zara comment cracked me up. I had gone down to size 12 in the past, and I still couldn't shop any top from Zara because the arms always sat strange. Thx for the video.
Absolutely loving all your videos, love when they pop up 🥰🥰 So true,.the sizes are sooooo shit!! It's depressing and they wonder why the shops are dying out!! It's crazy xxxx❤❤
Selfridge is an odd choice to go too because they only ever have one or two of the pieces out on the floor. You have to actively ask for your size, no matter what size you are.
I always try a size below and a size above "my size" in any store if it's available. It has taken me years to finally stop letting a label tell me what size I am and how good I feel about myself, and instead, I focus on fit and comfort. If something fits much better in a larger size than "my size", I'm going to get it. My worth is not defined by a label. And my wallet is tired of buying the size I think/want to fit even when I know it's too small. Remember, the label doesn't matter. Sizes differ between brands/stores and how you feel is most important.
I liked the white vest but will buy a plain one and blanket stitch it to make it look like the river island one in fact may do it in different coloured stitching ❤
I’ve been every size from a size 10 - 24. The only place I can possibly get some plus sizes on the high street are M&S & a Primark 2XL but they are slim pickings. H&M, River Island, New Look hide their plus size online like a dirty little secret. And working out your sizing is a nightmare, some just fit but some are like a tent, it makes you wonder if they use plus size models at all when creating these garments.
Same stock issue for smaller sizes too. Through Crohn's disease I rapidly lost a crazy amount of weight which left me very small and there was a lack of smaller sizes in shops. So for tops and sweatshirts I ended up buying from the childrens' section instead 🤦🏼♀️ (I'm still pear shaped though so managed to find a few bottom half clothing options in adult section).
Sequins on the high street are for festivals I assume? Loved the video, river island can be so disappointing for sizes, Zara and h&m sizes are always off some stuff come up big and then small in the same size
Huge issue with River Island (and most other) plus size ranges: I'm 5'3 and they blow up patterns. That means everything about the clothes get longer - arms, legs, waist drops, shoulders get wider, etc etc. A simple T-Shirt e.g. becomes unwearable for me, it looks like a mini dress. Another issue, not RI but New Look is a great example of it: fabrics. Why would I buy a dress that feels like a cheap foldable shopping bag? And why do we get the dark, simple 10-year same same cuts, instead of the cute high fashion ones in plus size. It's beyond me.
should try Hollister and superdry too, both have cute bits but never heard them doing bigger sizes, be cool to see if they do. primark go upto xxl in some things h&m is awful, biggest size is xl which is size 14, biggest they do, it shocking.
Here in the U.S., there are several stores exclusively for plus sizes 12 - 24 or 32, like Lane Bryant, Catherine’s, Torrid - what are your UK stores like that?
We have yours clothing but they assume all plus size girls want long ass tops. I once bought a dress from it…nope was a top 😂 Long tops, cold shoulders and butterflies seem to be all they do.
I work for River Island (London) and am about a size 24/26 and obviously have to get uniform (clothing from the store) clothing goes up to 18/L in store and depending on the material stuff dose fit me (I also get a few t-shits from men’s they go up to XXL) but obviously don’t get jeans 👖 18 will never go over my bum bust have a few pair of trousers in a 18/16. Most of the time our 18 are in the stock room and if we don’t have it in stock we will check another local store and after that if they don’t have it will give them the option to order
I’m a size 6 and nothing from river island fits me including their 6…they are awful for size inclusivity. My local m&s doesn’t even stock a 6 to order it in because it doesn’t sell enough…wish shops could sort their game out
Love your videos . Watched this and your last shopping plus size . I’m size 20/22 bottoms , size 14/16 top . Found a few size 20 and 22 jeggings in my local Next store , didn’t look to see if they had other plus size in store . Usually finding plus size in any store like finding a needle in a haystack . Struggled in the past finding plus jeans in 18 upwards in different shops like M & S . Occasionally primark . Look forward to next video xx
I never shop in store. Stores close because they are not inclusive so no one wastes time going in. Also paying to park is stupid, when delivery can be free or cheap.
Shops ive noticed in the past 5 years and i talked to some those in retail and it is true, they normally now in person only stock the top selling sizes and also most companies on location skip every second size. I myself cannot shop bottoms in person due to being the new size 00 or so im actually an old size 2-4 depending on it being 2000s or further older vintage. The staff are always telling me, oh you can ship to store we have it online! We can order you it. As I am holding 3-4 inches of waistband in a wad going… i dont want to spend the money if I cant even tell what it would look on me. I understand your channel isnt targeted towards someone like me. But it seems just as much as slow progression to larger sizes to plus sizing, although still a massive issue obviously with what i have seen and heard. It seems both sides of the spectrum in our current age is S.O.L when it comes to shopping in person anymore and its made me very tired. Shopping online i refuse to order if they dont provide me the measurements to every specific item, which… anything like zara does not. Also- somewhat off topic I went through their app just the other day and , what the f was with their bs for when you go to details of the new “collection” for their care and what its made of. You just get a very bs no info gif of some random raw materials being tumbled around… no words.. just “trust us bro” I wish thrifting was more friendly to plus sizes because thats where my luck has laid upon. I cant get anything new anymore and at this point the quality is just too painful to even justify it more than half of the time. Although again.. aware it is quite aprivledged thing to say and complain about in all aspects. It has just become severely disheartening. Along with my friends who take larger sizes… we just cant find a single thing anymore in store for us besides an overpriced top or jacket. Along with the majority of things arent even cut on the bias anymore its gotten so horrendous
ITS ALSO NOT JUST YOU!!! AHH even someone my size. When i travel to malls or shopping why do I feel its a tactic to make you do rash decisions just to gtfo? The heat is insane. Theres no air circulation it feels like endless recycled hot air. I feel like im in menopause. Ontop of the in person issue i live somewhere quite remote so when i travel to see my family is the only time i get to go to those big box type stores to finally see things in person. Hence my major disdain when they tell me i can ship my size to the store without me seeing it… like i always have to do this ridiculous back and forth where they are trying to get a sale from me but like girl… I do not even live here I cannot come back in two weeks to find out if I want a refund or not.
You are brave going into Zara I’m a size 16 size with big boobs and I don’t waste my time going to their stores. I used to work in Selfridges and it’s verrrrry difficult to find outfits if you are bigger than a size 12 or small 14. You should have bought the black top in River Island…that would have made a nice outfit with a flowy black skirt.
I went to Matalan the other day. They took away their plus size in store! When I asked about it the girl went..oh but we do the range up to a 22 now. Not fucking useful!! New look have done the same ffs. The only stores I can buy clothes actually in a 26 are Bon marche and yours clothing. Only supermarket is Sainsbury’s.
I hate shopping because, like you said, are there bigger sizes ????? Nowhere to be seen! Shops are way too hot, and people are rude. Why do they think that everyone is a size 8 - 10? Women have boobs, hips and a tum. If they won't shop's to survive, it's not rocket science to stock larger sizes, and your profits will rise. Again why do they think plus size, you must be 70 old and mumsie
The weirdest thing is that I feel like plus sized people might want to try things more than straight sized people. If the sizing is good and you’re a straight size it’s generally quite easy to pick a size and know it will look about right. I feel like that might be harder for plus sized people!?
Blows my mind that size 16 is the average woman's size and many shops barely have them. Just seems like missing a massive target audience by only catering to straight sizes.
I worked in retail , and let me tell you , the most neglected section was plus size . I felt sad when I see plus size girls in Jrs . Searching for something . Meanwhile Jrs catered to boobless , assless girls . Then they went to the plus size , depressing AF . I felt so bad
The fashion industry in the UK is missing out on a huge market for plus size women, there is nothing on the highstreet for us larger r women I now shop at shein which do a curve plus range,
"big sizes dont sell!!" When i go shopping i NEED to try clothes on! double that because i am plus size! so when i see this a brand doesnt carry big sizes in store, yet sells them online, i dont even bother shopping there because it is not worth my time and money. it's also a red flag for the quality of a brands plus size section.
Am plus size and it’s a. Nightmare to find something that actually fits well am size 22 to 24 but when I get 24 in pants they are to big and when get 22 there to tight 😩
Leaving a comment, just before watching. I'm a 16/18 more of an 18 ATM. And I really can't shop in store, it just leaves me feeling so upset and angry. As controversial as it is, I find Shein has the biggest range of fashion and sizes and the quality is actually decent, I don't really agree with the ethnics behind fast fashion and Shein, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I want to look good and feel good in the clothes I wear and with Shein I get that. Xxx
Hi Emma, great vlog as always ❤ have you watched BigPrettyMe1 she's a plus size lady and she gets some lovely things 😊 the black top looked really nice on you we're all saying it so it must be true 😂 go get it 😊🥰
You need to go back and get that black top from River Island; looked so good on you
I thought so too. X
Yeah it looked amazing on her
Yep agreed
Omg yes!!
Agreed 100% looks good
Going shopping as a bigger girl is so depressing. It's sad but it's true. Even being a tall girl who is just a size 16, it's difficult.
I’m 5’11” and plus size and most sleeves are too short for me too, hitting about 2” or 3” above my wrist.
Yep I’m tall and a UK14 and it’s often a struggle for me. I went in Mango recently and their sizes seem to stop at M or 12.
It sucks. I remember my 21st birthday just going home and crying after trying to go 'shopping'. It sucks! Yes, I learnt that once I was over a size 16 the high street was not for me and stopped buying from them.
Long tall Sally is a uk website that has plus size and caters to tall women.its a sister company of yours clothing. Xx
Please do a supermarket version, like asda and sainsburys, i always find gems in there xx
The black top in RI looked amazing, suprised you didn’t buy it x
I thought she suited that top as well 🫶
AGREEEE. Suits her so well x
When I find something that fits & looks nice in store I BUY IT! My friends are usually waiting for sales, but I don’t have the guarantee the item will still be in stock given the fact that larger sizes are the first to sold out

Loved it ! This is random but would it possible to do video on thrifting and styling ?
I loved the black frill top on you in River Island! So pretty, Iam a size 18 and hate showing my stomach, you are really inspiring I love your confidence xx
You post so much atm and I’m so happyyyy
I would love to see you go to m&s and next I’m always surprised by what they have in! A lot of people dismiss because they think it’s for older people or it’s too expensive but I’ve notice they are usually good quality etc

That black river island top you NEED
I live on the Isle of man and we literally have m&s, river island, next, tk maxx and new look for clothes, even finding size 16s is diabolical here
Makeup looks so pretty 🩷
Absolutely loving all your videos, love when they pop up 🥰🥰

blonde looks so good on you!!
I hate clothes shopping in store, I tend to leave with some dead t shirts & that’s it. The struggle is real, I’m size 18 5ft11 (but long torso) 😩
You suit light pink sm!!
I’ve been every size from a size 10 - 24. The only place I can possibly get some plus sizes on the high street are M&S & a Primark 2XL but they are slim pickings.

I rushed to the comments when you were in RI … I’m an 18 …. I can squeeze in to an 16 but like Zara there is F all
Same stock issue for smaller sizes too. Through Crohn's disease I rapidly lost a crazy amount of weight which left me very small and there was a lack of smaller sizes in shops. So for tops and sweatshirts I ended up buying from the childrens' section instead 🤦🏼♀️
(I'm still pear shaped though so managed to find a few bottom half clothing options in adult section).
Sequins on the high street are for festivals I assume? Loved the video, river island can be so disappointing for sizes, Zara and h&m sizes are always off some stuff come up big and then small in the same size
Have you tried Yours? I get my clothes from there, they do some pretty things :) I mainly just get dresses
Tbh, I’ve always found these high street shops expensive, but the stuff in there is cute

primark go upto xxl in some things
h&m is awful, biggest size is xl which is size 14, biggest they do, it shocking.
Love your videosss !!! Can I ask what camera you use for filming or does anyone know?
they dont put bigger stuff in store because more fabric means its bulkier and takes up space hence making us have to go online
Have a look in simpy be or matalan, they have some many sizes xx❤
Am I the only one who hates online shopping as a plus size girl?? I could never hate the high street. Love this series ❤

come to New York shop till ur exhausted!!!
Have you shopped at white stuff it goes up to 24s and cute pieces not glam but prettu
Can you make a video like this the next time your in London. I'm curious to know if they carry plus sizes depending on the location.
I walk past the clothes in clothes shops now😒 can you try mango, primark and bershka. I always stick to the same online shops
Loved this vlog, hun. It's great that you keep it real in terms of your size ethics. You're glowing too, love the hair, and your figure is looking 👌
I just moved to London and I feel like can't find anything in my height or size, its so depressing.
Thata black top is stun go get it xxx
How am I supposed to choose between a new vid and live tik tok? 🤔 😂
Right! I finished the live and watched this after in my own time!
I never find size 18 in store or xxl in zara, they go so fast
Fun fun fun, this cheered me right up 🫶🏼
You would think that they would go up to at least a size 20
Tkmaxx would be and interesting one to see!
This is exactly why I hate shopping in stores, makes me feel depressed and worthless. Hot and sweaty
I’m a size 6 and nothing from river island fits me including their 6…they are awful for size inclusivity. My local m&s doesn’t even stock a 6 to order it in because it doesn’t sell enough…wish shops could sort their game out
unfortunatley us bigger girlies and men have to buy our stuff online and pray that it fits
then lose some weight
If only river island did actual plus sized clothing in store 😢
Girl your video couldn't have come at a better time. Had the shitest day ever xxx ❤ hope you are ok

Fashion brands hate the big girls in their shops🤬, but take their money on line. 🤬
Being only 4ft 11 I find it hard to get clothes that fit. They are too long in length and the sleeves.

I find it so wrong that shops don’t do bigger sizes in shop but it’s mostly online I hate it
What's the song at 13:10 ❤
Do sports stores or gymwear please
Am plus size and it’s a. Nightmare to find something that actually fits well am size 22 to 24 but when I get 24 in pants they are to big and when get 22 there to tight 😩
Pure reason why people don’t shop on the high street, it’s all online
Leaving a comment, just before watching. I'm a 16/18 more of an 18 ATM. And I really can't shop in store, it just leaves me feeling so upset and angry. As controversial as it is, I find Shein has the biggest range of fashion and sizes and the quality is actually decent, I don't really agree with the ethnics behind fast fashion and Shein, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I want to look good and feel good in the clothes I wear and with Shein I get that. Xxx
Temu is also good & I've found them to be better quality
Comfort Girlie
Gurllllllllll. Get yo self to H&M. My ride or die
Really? H&M seems impossible for plus size
@@copyrightcharacter1166 yeh I was so surprised especially recently. The XL/2XL are really giving and I’m an 18/20/22
So sad for us bigger girls, we never get to have the same shopping experience as straight sized girls.
l knew you had manny accent ,your a pretty lady represent us big girls
I've never seen anything plus size in Zara
