The main game was too easy but oh boy did they go overboard on the bonus quest. The first area has seriously limited recovery items and powerful enemies. That's not enough as you immediately have a harder version of the final dungeon with early game party members. This means a lot of grinding to stand a chance.
I should make a boss line up of my fan-made JRPG, Final Fantasy 2-2: Genesis of the Dark Crystals. I still can't beat em all though - Nikki made them pretty tough LOL :)

this is the first i've ever seen Guy with a magic build. Usually he's the "hit things really hard with physicals" kind of person.
It really is, but for my part he attacks with much more damage if he performs the Flare magic, than if he attacks with his axe. 😉😉😉
I’ve tried also sometimes Guy has more in magic than physical build and Maria has more strength rather than magic.

I realized that as well when I first played FF4 a year after playing FF1 and 2 Dawn of Souls.
From what I heard, there was an attempt to try to connect the two game before ultimately scrapping the plan.

Yes, the PSP version is amazing!!! It even has a final secret boss more than the GBA version. And the graphics are a bit better. Recommended!!! 🤩🤩🤩

This is the version of the game I played. Man I really didn't like this one lol still beat it just to say I played the entire series
For me it is the worst of the first, but only because of its leveling system. If the new versions remove it, it would be a very good game. 😣😣😣😣
