Hi Roger , congratulations , finally in the water , think a small car engine would be much better than what you have , particularly with all the overhead gear you intend to put on. Ken .
this is my opinion but i think you wouldve fared better with a 15hp yamaha. 30hp seems a bit overpowered for your very light boat. And heavy, given you dont mount it on the midline.
@@jedidazed3390 15hp only gets it to about 7mph top speed and i hoped for a cruising speed of 10mph minimum, i have only ran the 30hp at initial breakin speed however when i reved it up slightly once it started to finally lift the front. I also have an issue of splashing from the outer hulls into the center hull and from center to outer hulls sooo i am building splash guards to go between the hulls before testing the 30hp at higher than breakin speed. Stay tuned for some higher speed testing 😁💦🛥️
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 you can do something similar to what texas filipino is doing, basically build a transom on the main hull so u dont have any balance issues
@@jedidazed3390 yes his boat is a transom mount and i agree is the best way to mount a single outboard engine. If i knew now that the inboard 15hp pump boat engine would not have enough power i might have made the center hull transom mount. My advantage is I have multiple engines so if one breaks down while out at sea i have another engine to limp home with 😁💦
Looks good buddy
@@drunkenjukebox2165 Once the splash guards are made I can test at higher speeds too 😁💦

@@elizabethharris8023 a car engine won't fit in the boat. It does fit in the bigger island hopping boats and they also use the car transmission too.

15HP with 3-4 people, you lose speed completely. (not fun)
25 or 30 is perfect.
