Hi, Thank you for this. If you are in the "Maths In = Maths Out" default setting, then it's REALLY IMPORTANT that you press the button immediately before the button. Otherwise you could get a wrong answer! Try this: 15^2 divided by 2 should give you 225/2. If you then square root (225/2) you should get (15 sqr(2))/2. If you now attempt to get a decimal answer (as in previous older Casio models by toggling the key) AFTER obtaining the exact value, by pressing then you'll get 3.256777, which is wrong. The correct answer (10.6066..) is shown only when you press immediately after your calculation. If you are not sure what the answer should be (!), best to use the FORMAT button after obtaining the exact value. Frustrating+++ and also adds a level of uncertainty in an already stressful time-pressured environment. Take home lesson: then = probably the wrong answer; then = probably the right answer. Still not sure? Press and select Digital. Or else revert to our old friend, the tried and trusted Casio fx-85GT PLUS.
3:08 "A slight shift from previous models" ALL dot-matrix models of ES, ES PLUS, EX and CW have the ≈ functionality, i.e. pressing SHIFT then = gives the decimal answer right away. (This isn't the case on two-line models MS and fx-50F/3650P as this is used to switch between the real and imaginary parts of complex numbers)
Indeed. I meant a shift in terms of user behaviour rather than availability of a feature, although I accept it doesn’t come across as that. It is/was very commonly seen to press = then sd with students. That will probably change.
if i do (1+.2) and press exe and then divide it like 1/(Ans) then it gives a standard answer . and after pressing shift and EXE , the decimal answer it gives is not of 1/(Ans) but of (1+.2) . it happens when the calculator is in math I/Math o settings. can you please explain why?
when I use the second method I get wrong answers some time. It shows the right answer in fraction but when I convert it into decimal using second method it is giving wrong answer. like first do 9 divided by 4 then you will get 9/4 then again divided it by 2 it will show 9/8 which is correct but when you convert it into decimal using second method you will get 0.5625 which is wrong .
This is because it will process the answer again. 0.5625 is 9/16 so it has divided by 2 again. Reluctantly I am moving away from the second method and just to FORMAT for those reason.
that is funny that is the exact fraction i was trying to turn into a decimal. I am subscribing maybe i am reading too much into it but I dont believe in coincidences lol but seriously thank you.
Please tell how to do indefinite integrals It alwys showing to input limits for the integral But i want to do indefinite soo please make solution for it
As an engineering student I never write down an answer past the second decimal place so I really don't care about fraction output. I have the default output decimal and I use fractions only for simplifying expressions.
unfortunately, by the time I wanted the 991EX, it was already discontinued, and the only places that sell them (in the UK) are on Ebay. Tried to get one but turned out to be a fake
Honestly speaking the 991 cw is quite better than Ex. There's a way to prevent the hassle of switching to decimal. Make the default output decimal so you always get decimal answers and switching to fraction occasionally isn't that big of a deal.

Yes this is an important warning. It processes you answer again by doing this so you have to be careful.
Just want to say thank you. I got the solution of my problem with this calculator.

Thanks a lot mate ... appreciate it
If i choose format and set decimals, will it here after only give a decimal anawer forever? Before i switch it back?
Thank you for all the explanations ❤
How do i transform decimal into fractions? Does this calculator have this feature?
Use the format button and press either Standard or select Improper or mixed number for fractions greater than 1.
Thank you so much
hello, my format button does not have those options please help
Thank you, very helpful.

How do I use the ANS button on the Casio fx991CW? I just read your comment and tried to do what you did but then couldn't find the ANS key.
@Mangomaniac As replied in the other comment, it is above the 7 button.
Helpful! Thank you very much!
How did you get the software? Can you please tell!
It is available via Classpad after you buy a calculator.
vaiya cw tricks anen

This doesn’t happen with the Casio 991EX, thankfully!
On Ti it seems to work in a similar way
How to convert decimal ans to radian
Because tan45 is giving 1 but i want in π like π/2
Video soon
THANKS A BUNCH, CAN YOU DO A VIDEO WHERE YOU COMPARE FX 991EX AND FX991 CW?
I might do, but there are a lot of differences so I am not sure about being able to cover them all. See if I get time.
For matrix, there's no way to show decimal in default, for 991-cw
Thank you
Anyone know where the ANS button is on tbis calculator? Realised quickly that it isnt there
Above the '7' key
Thank you so much sir
Thanks sir

Please tell how to do indefinite integrals
It alwys showing to input limits for the integral
But i want to do indefinite soo please make solution for it
You cannot. The calculator can not do symbolic calculus I am afraid.
having trouble converting between standard form on this calculator.
It's the format button. Then select decimal to change to decimal.

I want to get decimal into exact form
Press format and select standard
Can u find the comp mode anywhere???
It’s now called Calculate
thanks a lot
How to fix 4 decimal places in calsi fx-991cw.
Like if the ans is 3.23683976
How to fix in 4 decimal places?

How about the percentage key?
It’s now in the Catalog menu
Is 991ex better?
He won't answer that.
Bruh 3 key to switch from S to D is insane. Get the ex it is ways better. This calculator is so bad japan wont even sell it in their own country
Good thing I got the 991ex
