    How napkins I will get from 1 yard of fabric?

    Thanks for the great tutorial. Can these be made smaller, if so what would measurements be?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you can easily make them whatever size you want. Take the size you want them to be and add 3 inches to the width and length. Cut the front fabric to this size. Subtract 1/2" from the finished size you want (width and length) for the back fabric.

    I like how you have that finished back. But do I need to do this step? Is it necessary?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you can skip it. The back will give it a more finished look, but is not 100% necessary.

    Hello. How many napkins can I make out of the 1 yard of material? I am new at this and I have seen many videos on how to make napkins but this one is my favorite.

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Jackie Brewer For the 18" napkins shown in the video, you can get 2 per yard and 6 per 2 yards. (The maximum size of the napkins to get 4 out of a yard is 15".) This is just for the front of the napkin. You don't necessarily need a back, especially if it's a solid fabric that doesn't have a right and wrong side. You would need to double the amount of fabric needed if you include a back.

    Thank you for taking the mystery out of mitered corners! I made single, and double-layered table napkins using your technique. Both look very professional - not DIY like at all.

    What is the most durable fabric to make placemats for sale?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would use Sunbrella! They are outdoor fabrics, that are water resistant and can be used both indoors and outdoors. They have a huge variety of colors and prints so it is going to be perfect for your purposes. You can find Sunbrella fabrics here -www.onlinefabricstore.com/sunbrella-fabric.aspx

    Great video!! What edge treatment do you recommend when using shirting fabric - where there is only one layer of fabric? Could I still do the mitered corners?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can still use this same mitered corner technique, just don't add the second layer.

    • @milehighslacker4196
      @milehighslacker4196 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to tell from the video but does the back fabric (gray) help hide the raw edge of the top fabric? I guess my question was, what's the best way to finish the edges and corners when I have only one layer of fabric (shirting fabric)?

    Hi! I'm trying to figure out if I sew these napkins slow... Can you tell me, with ironing, how long one napkin takes you to make? Thanks!

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would estimate 30 minutes, but I've never timed it, so I could be off!
