MSR Home Emergency Water Filter Kit.

Today we take a look at a different kind of water filtration system. The MSR Home Emergency Water Filter kit, is a 2 stage filter system that connects to an outside faucets/hose bib. The 1st stage is a fast-flow hollow fiber that removes bacteria, protozoa, dirt & microplastics and the 2nd stage is activated carbon that reduces chemicals, tastes and odors. This filter will not remove viruses, so if you suspect viruses in the water, which is uncommon here in the US, then after filtering the water, you should boil it. Boiling kills viruses, but it needs to be a rolling boil for about 3 mins. Other options to kill viruses are UV light and chemical treatments.
