September 2023 Price Update: They are now advertising FREE upgrade to a 2 day ticket for everyone, and "special rates" if you show a "Thai residence card or work permit".
Nice vlog Peter, I would go just to sit in the top as you did and see things from a new perspective. Just saw one of these buses a couple days ago! Yes I would try and get a Thai friend to buy the tickets to save money - Haha They need to have family discounts and such to promote the business and get people excited about it.
Thanks, Ric. They're obviously just getting this service established. We'll probably have to wait until high season to see if it's really viable or not. But as I saw the buses driving around, I thought I'll have to have a go. And yes, being outside and on the top deck was very pleasant!
Feels expensive to me at 800 Baht. I wonder who will pay that especially with the annoyance of dual pricing in full effect. In actuality, I think the blue line might be a bit better for people who actually want to hit several more distant attractions. There could be some savings there versus private cars.
@user-pn4tq8kk9j haha. If you watch the vlog you will see he said it is not aimed at people who live or are regulars there. Thai price seems fair and I could see that working for the tourists.
Thanks, David. Definitely cheaper ways to get around town. I guess this is really aimed at first timers who might not be confident to get a taxi or know anything about the baht bus routes. It was nice sat on the top deck. Probably they'll settle on a price depending on the demand. Thanks again!
In principle this is a great idea, especially the longer route which goes to places further away. But the pricing is just ridiculous. Quite shocking really.
Thanks, Phil. I think it's not really aimed at us. They seem to be trying to cater for first time visitors, who wouldn't know about, or be confident to use, cheaper types of transport. It's a good way to get your bearings. Plus I can see tour groups using it. Anyway, as you say, great idea!
Thanks. I think (although I could be wrong), the dolphin lights have been there for some time. It's amazing the different things you notice from the top of a bus!
@@peapaulofthailand6539 Some people did hire a bus and drove round Pattaya when Liverpool won the league parading a cardboard trophy wrapped in silver foil!
Thanks for your comment. Will be interesting to see if they maintain them or drop them. I'd guess if they want to build up the numbers, price reductions are going to follow. It's already 300 baht for thai people.
BC did you edit out what the young lady told you to do with it. Seats did not appear to be overly upholstered. Good luck to them but unless they get a payoff from the attractions they drop people at, don't see it lasting long.
Thanks, BB. You made me think of the numerous times Thai young ladies have told me what to do with it. And none of them were complimentary! Seats weren't that comfortable, but then again if you were getting off (and on) every few minutes I think it would be OK. As for if they can make a go of it, not sure tbh but I like to try and support anything new/different in these parts. Thanks for the comment BB!
Thanks, Malc. I'm against dual pricing, I think it creates unnecessary bad feelings. My guess is they'll need to reduce the price more if they want big numbers!
Marvellous idea. There'll be no cheap charlies doing a bar crawl on there... Or will there 😮😊🤔? Are the gents' clubs included in the commentary in 6 languages? That would REALLY set the cat amongst the territorial pigeons. 😂🎉.
Thanks, Andrew. Maybe we can borrow their buses in the evenings? Walking St, Soi Buakhao, LK, Treetown, soissons 6,7 and 8, then over to the darkside. Live commentary provided by cute hostesses. Sounds like a business?
Less than 1 minute into the video and it is spoilt by the background music. I had to turn my volume up quite high to hear you talking, then boom... Crazy loud music. I have noticed more and more youtubers are doing it, why o why. Totally unnecessary, or at least keep the volume down 😮
Thanks for your useful feedback. In this case being outside there was a lot of background noise. But, of course, my intention was not to spoil your enjoyment. Sorry about that.
@@thefonzkiss it was loud at the beginning, I posted before I watched the whole video. Also you have to remember not everyone has the same taste in music.

Thank you for information, 🙏👍

Great video and well put together as per usual BC . Loved the light sarcasm , very appropriate. Keep up the great work , we love it 👍🏼🍻🇦🇺
Really nice to hear, SG. Thanks for your support. Appreciate it!
Good information
Many thanks!
Very interesting it could work especially with the Chinese thanks for that
Thanks. Think time will tell on this one, but you're right if they got some tour groups in, it could work! Cheers!

Good info and vid, shame about dual pricing.I guess an equilibrium will be found in that regard over time................
Thanks for your positive comment. I'm really not a fan of dual pricing. Hope they think again on that one.
1st time I've seen the dolphins at bali hi are they new or have i just not looked up ?

Oooh Midweek release. Hip Hop off bus, don't fall off this one 🇹🇭
See the sights of Pattaya on an open top bus! I was hoping they'd give me an FA Cup to carry!
@balloonchaser You can probably get one from the market lol🏆

@balloonchaser now, now don't be Jealous 🏆it was real, I know 😉 not the real one but real. Anyway on this vlog you mentioned Palace 🤣
@peapaulofthailand6539 I was thinking to myself, 'Who would be daft enough to take part in something like that?' And now I know 😀.
Those prices really are for taking the punters for a ride.

Too expensive, but I guess they are trying to cover the overheads, but I do disagree with the dual pricings. I would not use it.

Knowing Thailand they’ll go under a low bridge and knock someone’s head off.
That's how it became an open top bus in the first place!

Guessing aimed at the Chinese tourists.
Thanks, Joe. You are probably right there.
It will fail at the prices they are charging 😂 !
Thanks. I'm with you on the pricing. Think they'll need to 'discount' more to get the numbers.
800 THB IS VERY VERY VERY EXPENSIVE
Thanks for the comment. Be very interesting to see if they keep that price or discount more to attract customers. I'd bet on the latter!
Price is ridiculous.
300 bht sounds about right.
Thanks, Neil. Be interesting to see what happens to the "non-Thai" price!
Well overpriced and not advertised at all + WTF wants to go to rubberland
Thanks for your comment, Mark. I'm sure nobody wants to go to rubberland.
