The English subtitles seem to be a bit off. At 2:09, "e la piu preciosa" is translated as "not the most precious one". Minor point. OK, it's quite nice. The baritone is awfully woolly, but not dreadfully so. It's boring. Sorry to all you who love it: I don't get it. The notes are all there, but where's the emotion? Gobbi didn't have the "Scarpia voice", but he was the best Scarpia by miles. Just my flawed opinion: you'll doubtless have your favourite, and we're all right.
Great vocalist. The recording balance is off however. The orchestra is much too loud. Sounds as though the mics are too close to the pit and too far from the singer
There's another upload of this performance by an audience member (youtube channel "Goran VON Karkin") and his voice comes through stronger in it -th-cam.com/video/I3aOxqJm0S8/w-d-xo.html
His voice sounds stronger on another upload of this same performance showing it is a microphone problem. Look for it on the youtube channel Goran VON Karkin
Horrible voice and far away from a baritone of first class...If in the years 1940-70 baritones like Warren, Gobbi, Sereni, Bastianini, Tibett, Merril, Bruscantini, Guelfi, Panerai, Protti, Colzani and many more were singing, how come that there is not one single baritone comparable today? The last guys like this were Zancanaro, Cappucilli and Nucci...There is not one single italian baritone around, it's a shame...
Last time I've heard him he was barking trough the role. Mind you, I don't think this is the right role for Lucic's voice, for my preference I also prefer heavier voices for Scarpia, a bass-baritone (a younger version of Bryn).
Fantastic.
Divan glas !
Grandioso.
Tre SBIRRI NOT Tre SBIRRE!
sbaglio o la voce non è a fuoco? Mi pare molto stanca....

He’s ok, but certainly not equal to baritones of the past, he lacks squillo, and seems very nasal.
Gotta admit that the production is amazing though.

Good, but not overwhelming.
No squillo whatsoever...
Fucking shit -no good singing ,no tembro,no big breathe.

Prefer Bryn
