Useful but you keep referring to tiny details that are just a blur. You need to move the camera to show a close-up! :)

I learn so much from your videos, but sometimes I can't see what you are doing because of your back or hand in the way. I was wondering why the fabric you put on the back of the chair was not pressed first. I had never seen anything about ply grip so the whole video was a new teaching. Thank you for your vidoes.

When a fabric is correctly stretched in upholstery all creases come out due to the tautness. Generally the fabric isn’t ironed first in upholstery. If there are any creases afterward you can use a steamer to remove them.

Plygrip. Whoever invented that deserved a bonus!!! It would seem to me to be a real time saver over the old cardboard tack strip!! And you sir, are a genuine artist. I also got a kick out of your outlook on that fabric driving you crazy! Question….will Plygrip work with leather?

Thank you for the demonstration. Love the tips especially the tape for the corners with thinner fabric.

I think it's great you showing the use of plygrip - something I've not yet used and whilst a professional such as yourself could no doubt handstitch the back, it's good you are showing that it is possible to achieve a great outcome on a fine fabric because for a beginner like me who is less confident with handstitching, I know this lesson will serve me well 😉 thanks again Kevin.

You make some good videos, it is just a pity that your camera work does not cover everything that you do, you explain things but it's not shown on the camera. I would love to do your master's class but I cannot help thinking that the camera work will be as bad. is it? I do like the videos though you have a lot of experience to share.

If you could find a way to mount your camera above your shoulder, maybe from the ceiling, it would be great! A lot of details are missed between the camera being blocked and not being close enough.
Great demonstration of how to use the strips. Thank you!

Hand sewing is the best method for cleaner lines. Plygrip is just a faster way to apply the fabric . Depending on the fabric it can give good results.

One of the best explanations of how to use plygrip that I have seen. One again lots of good tips.
I do have one question and one comment. What size staples do you use to staple down the plygrip.
With a fabric that thin and fragile I am surprised by that you did not pin it up and hand sew the back on.
    Great information.
BTW, I purchased some "shop shears" that I use for most of my non fabric cutting.

I assume this fabric was best to use a two-prong ply-grip. How do you choose between 2 and 3 prongs?

My antique tub chair is carved, the back fabric stops at the carving all the way around, bottom included. Can I use this for all 4 sides?

Hi, I want to do single piping and then the ply grip along the top/side frame of a carved sloped antique fluted back tub chair...on the inside and outside back. It was originally cardboard trim under braid, but I really dislike braid and I also dislike double piping, so the question is, will it be secure enough, or will I have to do a glued double piping over staples? Thank you for your time!

Do you always have to have piping around the edge?

I know this is an old question, but I just reupholstered a child’s rocker and I use this to cover the back and I did not use piping and it turned out beautifully.
