    I used this method when I did the back of my chair, I found that when I put the the curvy next to the cording that it went over the cording just slightly. So on my next chair I pulled it down about a sixteenth of an inch and it worked fine. Was I doing something wrong. I really appreciate you videos! You are an excellent teacher!

    I guess I was in a hurry to view more of your videos and forgot to submit a comment, even though I did Like it. I always have to go back a review what I have seen as I often forget to Like them. So this one was very helpful to me as I have been struggling with working curves. Seen several other TH-cams that didn't work for me, yours does, so a redo for me to make them look right. Oops, is Curves and Corners them same, Duh! Forgot which one I was reviewing, but this one will be useful soon.

    Would it be possible that you could do a video with tack strips? Like the long straight ones? I know a lot of people like to hand stitch close, but I want to learn how to use the straight metal tack strips? Or could you point me to a video that uses this?

    I have a question i hope you can answer... i have an old lawn mower seat and its just the metal chair now with no cusion or foam and im wondering if i used vinyl, how would it hold to the metal?? I was thinking maybe some of that black trim stuff that clamps on to the edge of the metal... thanks for any ideas.

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio
      @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try headliner adhesive. It’s a spray adhesive, it will stick it to the metal. You’d have to be pretty good with vinyl to give it a finished look. You could also use the trim around the edge.

    Can you use the ply grip with heavyweight vinyl? And if not what would you recommend? I’m combing through your videos and realizing I picked out the most difficult fabric to reupholster my couch, but it’s so lovely I want to try and make it work.

    I don’t have an air stapler and my hand, flat nosed stapler won’t secure this edging. Can I tack it on? If so what tacks would you suggest?

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio
      @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest hand stitching the back on instead. Ply grip should be stapled.

      The specs for upholstery staples are: 22 gauge, “C” crown, 3/8” x 3/8”. If you get a stapler that shoots these staples, it will work for you.

      Check out diyupholsterysupplies.com. I’m not sure where they ship internationally, but I know it’s costly to ship. It might be better for you to hand stitch your items, that’s what I would do if I didn’t have access to the ply-grip. 😊
