I can't wait for 10.2 Havoc. It looks like a blast. I've been maining DH this expansion and I no other class feels as fun. Momentum makes me feel like a demon ninja.
Like you said, they took all the annoying an clunky bits and smoothed the entire thing out. More survivability, less fury capped, less zipping around BUT not completely boring and standing still. I still think we need a little bit more in our toolkit for M+. I've been playing Ret and absolutely love it. I can off-heal, freedom, SaC, BoP, LoH, 1 and 2 min strong defensive CDs, CR, immunity, AoE CC, Stun that's reduced CD by abilities, ST CC (Repentance) which can deal with the OTHER affix, and even a dispel for nasty mechanics and the affix. I love doing jobs while also doing big dmg, they used to be handicapped by movement but most of their abilities now are ranged + huge range and they have 2 charges of steed and even Freedom gives your speed (plus you get it for on yourself too if you put it on someone else). Anyway, I say all that because DH doesn't have a lot of supportive tools that make us more valuable outside of just dps. Nobody sits in my darkness because you don't want to be in melee or close to the tank. We have an offensive dispel which is nice but it's a longer CD than most I think. Blur is okay. Hopefully Sporecloak + Leech+ Blade Dance absorb talent helps that area. But I really want to help the team out more.
Havoc is actually pretty good in terms of the stops now. Obviously we don’t have a lot for direct team support, since we’re not a hybrid, but with fel eruption being baseline and the damage portion of sigil of misery removes, we now bring 1 range unconditional ST stun on a short CD, and 2 AOE stops, with one being fairly short CD. We also have meta stun and imp, which are situational but powerful stops. While we don’t have direct support tools, they don’t usually gives those to non hybrid classes. But we can do a lot!
@VooDooSaurus True, I did forget about a few of those. The only problem is that the stuns DR each other and a lot of other classes DR with stuns too. But I guess we bring big dmg (for now), a little utility, and at least the healer won't need to touch us and we can just tank all the mechanics and be lazy/pad the meters lol. I really wish we had at least 1 more thing. A CR would be too much to ask for, but maybe Darkness and/or Blur CD could be reduced based on spent fury like hunter's self heal?
Thanks for all of the recent videos and build info! I’m happy to see that the No mover build is fairly competitive as thats what I really enjoy playing. With that said, would I just be better off rolling surv this tier or sticking with havoc? (60/40 raid to m+)
Play what you enjoy! There are going to be no mover options for m+ as well, although they won’t be as competitive, but are still certainly doable! I plan on alting a surv for the upcoming tier, so might make a video or two on them
Obviously, as a havoc main and channel I'm going to recommend havoc : P but both are fun! Havoc is looking better in this tier, but DK isn't bad either, and is getting a legendary which could be super strong!

What do you think of the cycle/demonic build for M+? Do you think it’s viable or for M+ it’s gotta be inertia/momentum with the throw glaives and Ragefire?
I think currently it’s behind the other build, ID being capped and just the power of the other build leaves a cycle build for m+ less strong. You can certainly play it but it most likely will be worse
You’ll play momentum with the cycle build, or inertia with the AFI/CD build. You’re still going to be using fel rush and VR for damage, but it’s much less than before. If you don’t like that, No Mover is still plenty viable for raid

not a lot, but would recommend just playing the AFI/CD/Inertia build opposed to the Cycle/momentum build if you really don’t like the movement stuff (since it’s less). That being said though, no mover in raid is easier to play and only 2% behind at the top end, so if you really don’t like movement you really don’t need to.
Ya the cycle build I showed, it’s technically ahead on single target for sims, but has uptime issues. It runs momentum and the full suit of movement talents

Im going to be abusing the HELL out of this spec in pvp for the first 2 weeks before it inevitably gets nerfed into the ground

How is a havoc dps compared to a ret pally?
Hard to say since no one has any clue what the legendary ret is getting will do, but havoc is currently performing very well (especially in m+)

Decree isn’t that far behind for havoc, you can certainly play it. Hunt is played for both :)
