The biggest compliment I can pay to your videos is that whenever I watch one I think: "I'd love to go out on an overnight camp with him." There was something you said in this film that really struck a chord with me: "I like straightforward things." Me too. And that's one reason why I like your videos. Down to earth, no pretension. And don't ever feel the need to apologise because they are "only" coming from your woodland. They are wonderfully informative and entertaining.
Thanks Malcolm. Why complicate things, keep it plain and simple. That's what I love about the whole wildcamping experience. We could sit in a tent with all life's luxuries around us but it's the bate necessities which I like having. Saying that I can still fill a 70 litre bergen!
agreed - Steve has always been making solid movies - no bs, cheers to that. One of the few remaining original Utube outdoorsmen. If it wasn't for the sea I would have visited that woodland long ago.

I watched as a prelude to my daily walk up to Trailcam Wood and a recce looking for suitable places to restock with some oak planting as well as checking the trail cameras. I didn't realise that Herb Robert could be used as a repellent. Going to try it. The stove is a success Steve and a keeper. I like the extension. Thank you for a wonderful watch and listen as always. I don't like using man made insect repellents, especially when trying to watch nature, so I'm trying alternatives, this seems to work. I still got bitten a few times though! I hope you captured some good footage, look forward to seeing them. I've got lots of small oak saplings which are growing in the farmers field next to the wood. I need to transplant them into some open areas. Should do it now while it's wet. Thanks for watching. Steve.

Really lovely video Steve. I'm a long time Honey/Hive stove devotee and wouldn't be without either - I actually like the challenge of putting them together with cold fingers! Don't worry about your videos being the same - they're not. It's what they are rather than where they are that counts.
As a Master Herbal medicine practitioner it was great to see you using Herb Robert. You probably already know that it can also be used to make tea and tossed into salads for additional nutrition. I/m looking forward to watching further videos to see if you use wild edibles in your camp fire cookery :-D.

Very good point about the allergy, always best to try a little on the inside of the forearm for a few minutes when trying something new. I love my honey stove, but as you say a faff to put together. I wouldn't worry about the videos all being similar, not only because it's a break for those that can't get out but they are also informative. Besides some of YT's biggest channels do the same thing week after week.
