Never watched that, but I can see the resemblance. I also wanted to add a jumpjet feature to these but I wasn't able to get it working in time before this video.
the first thing I’m checking out when this game is available is the soundtrack, I really like the one in this video, but it seems to not be available on mister kad’s bandcamp
@@dorf-rts thank you very much! Though i can’t get the sound of power suit machine guns firing and people dying out of my head now every time I give it a listen
Kinda wish they could quick drop, like leap out of the transport copter and do a sick hero pose landing instead of the heli having to slowly land. But I suppose that's done for balance purposes, I guess
We want to add rappelling out of helicopters for most infantry units, maybe some kind of thruster jump for these specific powersuit units, though that'd require some engine tweaks to get working.
Probably no repair/heal units, but there will be repair pads and hospitals. Veteran units will also slowly auto-heal up to a certain % of their max health.
@@ValCherCh Realistically vehicle repair would work more like a C&C-style repair depot, but for hospitals you can just garrison a multitude of infantry inside at once and they heal. I might just make regular barracks buildings double as hospitals, depending on how things go.
@@dorf-rts any chance that it could be an area of effect in which vehicles are repaired as in cnc3, similar effect but less micro intensive and thus less likely to be ignored.
@@twanhoekman4726 It probably won't be an AOE effect but you can send multiple infantry into a healing structure at once. As for vehicles, they'll likely go into the repair bay one at a time, however you can still order them into one as a group, and there's also a cursor function you can use to order any selected unit to the nearest repair pad.
Would be cool if ground units could attack landing air units after they've descended a certain hight, before touching ground. Looks a bit off this way.
@@dorf-rts Thank you for your answer. I'm looking forward to your game. I also noticed that "bullets" can hit buildings that are in the line of fire. Does this mean you have an underlying 3D structure and "true" projectile trajectories that might intersect with unexpected obstacles?
@@VK-sz4it Yes, objects all have a volumetric hitbox, meaning walls will actually block projectiles, though currently this is mostly disabled or the effect reduced for most units, since right now the AI is dumb and will continuously fire into obstacles unless micromanaged by the player. Eventually we will try and make the AI a bit more intelligent and have them actually take obstacles into consideration before firing.
Power armor and mechs are like, my asthetic. I hope there is more.
There will be, at least for this faction specifically.
@@dorf-rts mmmmmmm, stompy robot legs
THE LEGS ON THE WAR SUIT GO STOMP STOMP ALL THROUGH TOWN
Did it remind you of the Wolverine like me?
GREAT design!! Love the idles animations too! 😆
ah shit, I see someone I recognize who's also watching the development
Was that a dude raising the mech's visor to light a cigarette? :D
Good job, you can see the effort dedicated to each of the frames
very metal slug design. i like it
Looks awesome! Good old realtime strategy with base building! Very hyped!
I am a mechanical man
OpenRA gonna get popular because of this game.
Powered Armor Dorvack moment

It does remind me of Maschinen Krieger a bit with how the PA opens.
I liked the aesthetics of the Powersuit.

DORF game art is so much better than stormgate! I can comprehend what each unit are, and all units are looking interesting.
Space marines fighting Immortan joes army! XD
They look awesome!
Sure hope each faction will have either a medic or a repair station if you plan on implementing unit experience

@@dorf-rts So, the Red Alert 2 approach. Hopefully, you won't have to send your units into a hospital one at a time.

How good it can get if it's like this already. Marvelous
*Suits* me.
These remind me of the Paradeus Doppelsolders from Girls' Frontline. The monoeye and the white colouration really stand out
Majestic!
I occasionally see Warband infantry diving out of vehicles in your promo material. Is that a consistent mechanic for infantry transports?
Like the Wolverine from Tiberian Sun.
Looks really nicee, love the old school RA2 feel. Wish the animations looks like a bit like fallout 2 gore ( minigun specifically)
It looks like the ring UI is very controller-like. Is controller support in the cards my man?
Does anybody know the song played in this video? (Or if its an original song that just hasn't been released yet?)

We may alter how attacking air units work in general, since it's a bit strange riflemen can't fire at low flying VTOL's, yes.
What stand for D.O.R.F. Means?
It is a mystery. 👻
Something Romantik
Oh, I miss it that units.
I am saddened the powersuits do not, in fact, jump out.
These units are for the third faction, yes?
Yes.
I need someone to overlay Phonk walk music when these units march.
Will there be a version at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023?
Certainly not in 2022, but I would not rule out the possibility of a demo in 2023.

This kind of heavy infantry.

Three playable factions.

And when can I play the game?
Do shots miss sometimes or it is just cosmetics?
Weapons do have an inaccuracy value, so many weapons can miss, yes. Though most weapons deal some degree of AOE damage as well.
