I'm actually really happy that we're away from the dry ass matte look though. I'm a fan of the Dewy Sun-kissed look. I think in general health and beauty has gone hard on self-care and natural aesthetic in the last decade.
I love how you actually like the small few blemishes peeking through...i've heard several others saying the same thing and embracing their natural skin. Yay for normalizing normal! 🖤
My 6 year old walks in while I'm watching this, stands next to me, and whispers to himself, "She is really beautiful." I don't think he meant it to come out audibly. He was a little embarrassed when I whispered back, "Yes, she is."
Another amazing trick I have learned from painted by Spencer, is to put on your moisturizing products with your beauty blender and then use the same beauty blender to put on and blend your foundation, concealer, etc. It actually works wonderfully! I honestly never thought that little thing could help so much!, Love your videos, amazing work! 🥰
I do this as well. I also get patches of skin that are dry or textured... usually winter time, but its funny how you don't notice until makeup is done, lol. Anyways, I'll sometimes take something like my Wander beauty oil or something and use my blender to tap a bit over my set makeup. It sounds counter productive, but it definitely allows me to not like like a patchy clown, since there's usually no time to redo things:).
I don’t understand how TH-cam has been hiding you from me for 5 years. I tried out this technique and it worked amazingly! I didn't even use setting sprey, the powder blended into my skin perfectly and my complexion looked so smooth and flawless. Thank you so so so much girl
I love this! What I got from this is to be MINDFUL about amount, tools, placement & pressure. Each having a purpose. Not just pouring powder everywhere, using the 30 sec video technique.👍❤️😍

I literally just starting doing this recently before I watched this video...and I totally agree with you about losing your glow with powder and thats i how I came up with doing this too. Also another thing that helps with getting your glow back after powder is if you can find a good setting spray, you spray a decent amount on your face and then go back in with a beauty blender and just press that setting spray into your skin, so your blending all your foundation powder and everything together. It was def a game changer for me, it instantly brings back that glow you originally start with!
YEP!! I've been doing a similar powder application only with a fluffy crease brush. I stumbled onto it because I was getting hard pan in a bougie touchup powder and since I wear a lot of cream products I wanted to be strategic. And because like 15 years ago a makup artist told me to try applying highlighter with a crease brush. I have like 800 billion synthetic crease brushes. And it worked and now unless I'm buffing in finishing powder on a powder look, I do the same application and the buffing feels a little more intuitive with a crease brush but a concealer of highlight brush would be great!
Alex- thanks for the video of your base makeup! Nice tips and tricks. I like the idea of using less powder and in only the places it’s really needed. Also, the way you used your brushes and how you held them when applying all the different powders and love, love love the idea of using a mineral powder foundation as a bronzer. It’s all so good!
