You could always add some pothos cuttings to the pond and have them trail over the side... Loving the greenhouse content!

Before you get any fish for the pond, I’d stick a thermometer in there and make sure it doesn’t get super hot on the warm days. So if it is warm and you choose fish for that temperature, you may need to buy a tank heater for the winter.
PS I am so in love with your greenhouse and especially the colour of the wood frames. Dream for sure!

I think you can buy stones at your nearest aquascape shop, and regarding fish, you can include guppy fish, because they are easy to adapt and reproduce quickly😊

Guppie fish need warm temperatures, she first has to figure out the water temperature on hot and cold days I guess

I love that you are now able to branch out into pond plants, that's so cool! That's an area I personally have not really explored, so I'm excited to see what you do. As for the plants that are suffering in the intense light, perhaps there could be an area inside the greenhouse with a little shade cloth or something similar hung up? Just something to cut or diffuse the light a bit and then finding out in which spots around it the plants are happiest

For the pond you can put cuttings in it.
You can get/ make a shade tent for the anthurium.

Looks great! You can always tie the pot to the brick to hold it in place.

Becca, the little floater plants are actually water lettuce. They will send out babies and spread, so you probably don’t need more plants.

For rocks- I suggest lava rock! It helps filter the water and can help reduce that yucky water smell. You can find it super easily at just about any pet/aquarium store!
I also would suggest taking a reading of the water temp at the hottest point of the day to avoid walking in to see some boiled fish one day lol
Anddd anything you water propagate will do just fine in the pond! I have pothos and philodendron in my aquariums 😊

Golden Creeping Jenny is an excellent water plant. It will take up a lot of space and would hang over the edge.

Oh wow Becca, your greenhouse is so beautiful inside, and all of the plants you have in there are looking so pretty and the new ones you got ar also so beautiful looking inside there and potting up that huge plant in that big pot really does look so great. I also love your pond and there can be a lot of other things that you can do to it to make it even better looking. Thanks for another great video to watch, I am wishing you a beautiful and blessed day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😊🤗💜💜💜

I have queen tut growing in my pond also! A fun plant suggestion is: carnivorous plants. I've been thinking of adding my pitcher plant to my pond.

I love the vibe of this video!! Creeping Jenny can trail over the edge and grow roots in the water! Also, I think you would love water poppies for another floating plant!
As for the stink, you can use a pond clarifier from API (either Sludge-zyme or Simply Clear should work) or any similar product. Make sure that the pump keeps aerating the water. It may not be strong enough for the amount of water in the pond, too. The bare minimum is usually half the gallons of water should be moved per hour. I’m guessing the barrel is around 20-30 gallons, so at least 15 gallons per hour would be good!

Any easy water propagating can sit in your pond, maiden hair ferns do well in ponds.

Brazilian pennywort could be a good trailing plant for the barrel. Any type of pothos does well in my aquarium. I'd assume the same for your situation. A carnivorous plant, attached to some porous lava rock and some moss could be cool.
Medaka rice fish may work. You'd have to check what temperatures you get. Before getting fish, look into the nitrogen cycle and all the other fishy needs. Fishtube can be brutal - rightfully so, to a certain extent. Fish are totally reliant on their keepers 🙂

I would recommend medaka or guppy fish for your mini pond. Medaka fish are very resilient.

    • @richanthony2914

Was coming to say this. Even if the top freezes, medaka rice fish will survive.
Go to a landscaping place or Lowe's for river stones. Really cheap.
Also, any vine you'd propagate in water will sit in the pond. Figure-8 and fold wire hangers over the edge and tuck them in the pond side. Pretty pretty

I live in Thailand and have lots of ponds and fountains in my garden. I love adding in syngoniums to my ponds/fountains as they do love living within that really wet environment (and the tinier the fish you add, the less waste they will create and the better quality of life they'll have!) so think "pretty guppies" cause here in Thailand... we all have them in our ponds. Also rice fish are another great choice! *check out SerpaDesign here on TH-cam... he's amazing with plants and water.

I've never done a outdoor pond but with fish comes fish waste and without a filter system and cycling a tank to know your water is fish ready I'm not sure long term how this will work out for you. Too much fish waste in a small body of water builds up quickly and then it starts burning the fins. If you do not have a outdoor water source close by it might make it hard for you to keep up with water changes and syph. out water out. I've always kept indoor systems where youu are building up healthy bacteria. You might consider some shrimp that eat alge and so forth. Thankfully youtube will have a ton of vids for you I wonder if #Dustin'sFishtanks channel can help you out plus he online sells a ton of water plants.
